How would you react if you found out someone plagiarized your work and published it?

  • I'd be angry for a little while. Then I'd get over it and find something else to make my own, because I'm a firm believer that if I could write something worth plagiarizing then I can do it again, and probably do it better. This would hold true whether it was a work of literature or a scientific paper, barring circumstances where the work in questions is something of deep sentimental value: for example, my Master's thesis in the case of a scientific paper, or a story I wrote specifically for somebody under emotional circumstances in the case of a literary work. In these circumstances, I'd probably contact the person who plagiarized my work to explain my situation with the involvement of tears and a choked-up voice. Would this be sincere or manipulative, you ask? I say why can't it be both? ;) If worse came to worse and I wanted something out of it, I'd find a way to prove that it was plagiarized. Assuming, of course, that there was hierarchy and some degree of publicity involved.

  • I would put my foot so far up that person's ass, his (or her) nose will bleed. =)

  • I would be VERY pissed off if I saw someone else with my own work. Especially when I worked really hard on it.

  • Honestly, if someone plagiarized by work and published it, I'd be furious. For someone to do that after working out an idea and successfully completing it, it's just something you don't do. That would have to be one of the worst feelings in the world to come across. I'd be even more upset if it got popular and they had the credit for the work.

  • How would I react? That person, whoever plagiarized my work, better pray that God is real, because once I'm done with them, they'll be screaming for mercy. Then, I'll take legal action.
