How old is too old?

Are you ever too old to go trick-or-treating? Is candy for everyone?

  • Now now, see, you may become too old to trick or treat in the traditional way, what you have to do is be innovative!  If you go beyond your mid teens and are still itching to go out on Halloween dressed in costumes there are a couple things you can do.

    1)  Trick or Beer.  Like trick or treat, except you get beer.  It's best to trick-or-beer at houses where you are well known.  particularly for your off beat style and tomfoolery.

    2)  After all the kiddies have done their rounds go trick or treating with a group of friends (in costume of course) and collect for a food bank.  It sounds silly, but it can work.  Plus, hard candy can be donated to charities that work overseas.

    3)  Party all night and raid the nearest store as soon as Nov 1st rolls around.  Buy all the on sale candy in sight.

Candy is for everyone.  Unless you will die if you eat it.  Then it is not for you.

  • Candy is definitely for everyone xD But trick-or-treating isn't. I didn't go this year.

  • Люди никогда не взрослеют. Они просто учатся вести себя на людях. (Бернард Шоу) А конфеты это любовь с детства)))
  • Id say 16 but Graduation is the absolute limit.

  • When you go up to someones house with a bunch of brats running wild and this person asks "What grade are you in!?"  then your too old. unless you like the feeling of embarrassment.
  • Yes, I am def. too old to go trick-or-treating. That said candy is for everyone. I usally don't celebrate Halloween anymore. But this year I spent an awesome evening at my best friend since 4th grade's mom's house handing out candy, eating dinner and spending time catching up with my friend. It was cool. I can't wait til I can hang out with her and her mom again (and her brother although he mostly stayed in his old bedroom or somewhere so I didnt get to talk to him much).
  • You can get too old to trick-or-treat, but candy is for everyone. ... Unless you are dieting, in which case... buy sugar-free?

  • your never too old to get candy besides its free candy :D

  • Yeah... trick or treating in the UK is frowned upon. It may be all good spirited in some areas, but most people I know are opposed to the whole idea. It's generally seen as an excuse for older kids to cause trouble. The last trick-or-treater I had looked about 16.

There are cut-outs provided in local papers by the local constabularies, for people to stick on their front doors, requesting no trick-or-treaters.

It was fun in the US when I was a kid, but that was in one particular suburban neighborhood. Parents with their young children dressed up in wacky outfits. Here it's just drunk teenagers wandering around asking for stuff.

  • I'm too old......
