I like shoes. I like boots. Either will do.
But, this question reminds me of a “boot disaster” story.
We have a friend from Texas who is most assuredly a “boot” person.
I’m not from Texas, but I visited the armadillos in a remote town in Texas somewhere long ago, and I’ve noticed two things I’ve about Texans…
They are proud of their country (Texas, that is), and
they are proud of their boots.
Last Thanksgiving our friends, “Cowboy” and his wife, came to visit. He came decked out in his brand new ostrich boots. And some mighty fine boots they were, indeed. The best money can buy.
We all admired them.
On their plane ride home, though, Cowboy had a boot disaster.
The passenger next to him got sick and threw up on his boots. Cowboy managed to keep his cool and clean up his boots the best he could under the circumstances but… Oh dear, what’s a cowboy to do?
I’m wondering if those boots will ever be the same.
