Okay... gonna go for something more useful here. We'll see how it goes.
If you're reading this it's likely you know me from either CMU or the SCA. Very few folks I knew before college seem to be interested in blogging. *shrug* Their loss.
Anyway, I graduated from CMU in 1998 and got my Masters in Genetics and Biochemistry from Pitt in 2003. I'm currently working in a lab at Pitt and contemplating whether I want to be a lab manager for the rest of my life or look into other career paths.
In my spare time I have a couple of hobbies. For one thing, I bought a house in the summer of 2004. I spend a lot of time trying to make it prettier and/or easier for my boyfriend and I to live in. We've re-painted almost the entire living area and planted the front garden with something other than weeds ^_^ As I write this we're trying to completely re-finish the wrap-around bannister. We should be finishing that soon. But there are always more projects. Oh, and speaking of projects, I also love to cross-stitch. Again, there's always more to do than time to finish it in ^_^
The other main hobby I've got is the SCA, where I'm known as Ailis Linne. I've been less involved recently (see hobby #1), but I still enjoy being involved in heraldry and helping in the kitchen when I actually make it to events. And I take an annual vacation to Pennsic for 2 weeks every August ^_^
Generally, I'm a very open person in what I write, but I'm also a little paranoid about it. So most of my entries are Friends Locked. And I don't tend to refer to my family with any specifics. *shrug* It's just a little oddity, but I figure this is the best place to put it if I want people to know that it's a purposeful omission.
