Summary: Could you allow me to take smb. else's never used account?
Original Request:
Hello,

I was trying to create my own live journal account as "sonia" but I couldn't do it because the user "sonia" is already exists.

It is not a problem in fact, but if you will see this account profile (http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=sonia&mode=full) you will find that this user does not use it - he never posted any entries since 2000-02-03 (creation date).

So if it is not important for him, I'll be very happy if you allow me to take this account.

Thank you in advance!

I'm afraid there's very technical reasons why we can't delete accounts and give them to someone else. If you want the details, ask and we'll tell you.

There aer two things you can try. Either, email the person with the username you want, and ask him or her to give you the password for their account. Or create an account with a different username.

Sorry about this, but there's very little we can do. Thank you for trying out LiveJournal!
