Journal verification

The verified journal status means that the blog is officially maintained on behalf of a famous person or an organization – it is not a fan page or a hoax. In their interface, journals that have received the verified status are marked with a special symbol – a checkmark . This checkmark does not represent any sort of a reward and does not imply any additional privileges for the author.
Please bear in mind that a personal account as well as a community account can get verified.

How to get an LJ verification checkmark

To receive a checkmark, send a request titled “Journal Verification” via the LiveJournal support service, and in the body of the request provide a link to your verified page in one of the following social networks: VK, Telegram, Youtube, Twitter, Tiktok, etc. The account must be verified on these social networks! Also, the selected social network account profile description must include a link to your LiveJournal blog so we can ascertain that this is indeed your account.

If you keep a journal on behalf of an organization, then verification just requires you to send a link to your website having previously placed a link to your LiveJournal account on it.

If the data you sent is not sufficient for verification, you may be asked for additional information.

How long does verification take?

Application review takes time, and may require up to several months; so please, be patient. Each application is considered individually and may be rejected if the criteria are not met. After a while, you can try to reapply.
If the application is approved, a verification checkmark will immediately appear beside your blog username .

NB: even if all criteria are met, LiveJournal reserves the right to refuse the application without explanation.

How to cancel verification

To cancel verification, send a request titled “Cancel journal verification” to the LiveJournal support service. Voluntary verification cancellation does not impose any restrictions; your blog will function as before.
Please note that if you want to get the verification check mark again, you will have to resubmit your application. It is possible that upon re-examination your application may get rejected.

Verification withdrawal

If for some reason your journal no longer meets the verification criteria, its status may be revoked. LiveJournal also reserves the right to revoke the status without explanation.
