What is the Related Entries widget?

The Related Entries widget allows you to display a module at the bottom of your entry which will show others a brief preview of up to 9 of your other entries.
To use the Recent Entries widget, just check the box next to 'Related entries' on the New Entry page and you will be presented with several options.

Choose how many entries to display

You can select 3 or 6 (or 9 entries for old editor) to include at the end of your entry.

Select which entries to display

You have 3 different options for selecting which entries to display:
  1. Recent entries - This will display previews for the public entries you have posted to your journal most recently.

  2. Entries by URL - With this option, you can select any public entries on LiveJournal (whether they are posted by you or another LiveJournal user) by placing each entry URL into the form which appears.

  3. By tag - Your most recently posted public entries which use the same tag as you have selected will be displayed. If your entry has multiple tags, you will need to select which of those tags should be used for the purpose of displaying related entries.

Entries that you chose to exclude from Friends Feed or RSS won't be displayed in the Related Entries widget.

Compatibility

The Related Entries widget is not currently implemented in all LiveJournal styles. The feature will display when viewing entries in LiveJournal's default entry style, and in following S2 styles:

  • Minimalism

  • Expressive

  • Air

  • Chameleon
