Home again in good ole PDX, back where the tap water's delicious and the air doesn't dry out my eyes.
And what better way to feel welcomed back than to go to a good Northwest hip hop show with Blue Scholars. Seems they were waiting for their tour to head to Portland too and they put it best when they said "I love Portland and it feels great to be back in the Northwest!"
Their whole set certainly felt like getting a good warm welcome home hug- positive energy surrounded and filled up everyone in the room, you couldn't help but bounce to the beat.
San Diego was dry as usual, those five days felt like five months- especially with my parents constantly calling me when I wasn't at their house trying to guilt me into coming over. They were the biggest cause of my headaches while I was gone, aside from the severe lack of sleep. I was glad to get so many home cooked meals though and sweet, sweet Mexican food. We went to Rubio's nearly everyday to have a couple fish tacos and I'd almost forgotten how much more delicious carne asada was down there.
What few things I was able to enjoy never lasted as long as I would have liked them to before I was pulled in another direction though. I saw my parents pretty much everyday I was there which was kind of a hassle to do seeing as how I kept telling them my time wasn't really my own for at least the first half of my time there. They didn't seem to understand the concept that I didn't pay my own way down there and that it was just common courtesy for me to devote more of my time to the party that did.
It sort of turned out alright. Sort of.
Nothing all that special happened aside from me getting cleaning out my parents' liquor cabinet and getting a few of my friends pretty hammered. Also playing a little Rock Band 2 and having five of us practically screaming the lyrics to "Eye of the Tiger" and "Float On". Also I got 100% on the only song Lit ever did that anyone recognizes which was kinda neat.
Now that I'm home, I've got to hit the ground running. My job is getting unstable again with my hours so now I'm refining and updating my resume and on the hunt for much better employment. Sam left to spend the next week in Susanville, so now the chores of the apartment are pretty much left in my hands. I'm not really too on top of the cleaning yet, but I have been at least cleaning up after most of the messes Jay and I have made since we got home.
Aside from that I've been taking whatever time I can to relax and enjoy being in my own home again.

I'm in a pretty awesome mood right now so I figured, "hell! let's make a real post for once."
I've been having a pretty good week lately. Tal and I went to Hempstalk over the weekend and did a little 'shopping'. Came home with a little herb and a hit of acid in both of us.
Guys. Acid is pretty fun. Pretty much just like what I imagine having a quarter of mushrooms is like. It was quite an adventure since we had no idea when it was going to kick in. An hour and a half later, the Steve Martin movie we were watching got quite a lot more entertaining.
We spent the day together laughing until we almost couldn't breath and watching the room around us. We even got out and took the dog for a nice walk and went adventuring down the path by our apartment. What a wonderful way to spend a day off :3
The next day I got up at 8:30 with only four hours of sleep in me and went to work. I lucked out and got the easy section and all my rooms left early. I grabbed myself a monster and motored right through my work, finishing just before two. On my way home I picked up a 360 controller, because goddammit, it's about damn time we got another controller for that thing.
I came right home and started playing Castle Crashers with Jay and pretty much just dove right into it. I've been playing the poison knight and have gotten to level 19 I think. The game kinda has a Diablo kind of feel to it which is probably what makes me like it so much. It sure does make me miss playing it.
Yesterday I was supposed to work again but then my supervisor called me at seven and told me I could stay home, apparently there wasn't enough for everyone to do. I gladly turned off the alarm and slept in until almost three. I spent most of the day sleeping, mostly since I was kind of dehydrated.
Today started out kind of gay and I really wasn't looking forward to it- especially when I got to work and saw that I was in a different section and had five check outs to clean. I lucked out once again and ended up with my first check out being a mis-marked vacant room. Then I was able to take care of nearly all of my stay-over rooms before my other four check outs left all at pretty much the exact same time. I finished every one of them in about 25-35 minutes and was out of there by 1:30 today :D
After another little bit of luck for me, I treated myself to a strawberries and cream from starbucks and hopped on the bus home.
Now I'm here smoking a nice relaxing after work bowl and I got the next two days off. Then I even get paid on Friday and have Saturday off :>
This week is looking to finish just as cool as it started.

I know it sounds kind of funny, but I canned up a theory while watching The Lion King 2 again just now on the jew tubes.
When you think enough about it (too much maybe) there's plenty of evidence that Scar was actually Kovu's father and they might have just made a last minute change in the script after they animated it (cause personified animals can't be porking their cousins, lol right)
Zira's obviously got the craziest obsession over Scar, which kinda hints that maybe he chose her as his queen during his reign and had a few cubs. Nuka was an idiot, so obviously not up for taking the thrown. Scar seemed like a pretty old fashioned dude so Vitani was passed over for being a damn girl. Then Kovu was born and maybe Scar just thought, "Well fuck, third time's the charm right?"
My theory's backed up by the way Kovu looks when he's first introduced. Maybe a good few months older than Kiara, just barely enough for his mane to start growing- certainly not old enough to be from Mufasa's reign though definitely just old enough to be the last born while Scar was still alive. Probably just popped out the day before Simba stopped being a big gay and came the fuck home.
Simba was obviously gone for at least a couple of years, long enough for every little fucking thing but the lions to die/leave in the pride lands- which would make any other cub born from Mufasa at least a year old.
Then I have some silly shit about a verse in the Lullaby song Zira sings
"Scar is gone / but Zira's still around / to love his little lad / till he learns to be a killer / with a lust for being bad"
The last line could just as easily be replaced by "Just like his dear old dad" and still fit the tune perfectly (and just makes sense).

Once again haven't really made an effort to post here. Not really making much an effort now.
So here it goessssssssssss
Work- it's been going pretty well. Made twenty bucks in tips the other day which was pretty sweet. Been getting more hours too which means my checks won't look so depressing anymore. It's not quite as tiring as it used to be which is pretty good. I get get all my shit done and still have plenty (not really) of energy for when I come home.
Other than that, life's been going pretty well. I don't think I've mentioned this in any previous post, but we've got our dog, Engel, back- he's been doing great, still a little disobedient here and there, but he's learning. It's good to have him around, gives me a great excuse to just go outside.
Uhhhh well shit, I guess there's not really much else happening these days but werk and various other general bullshit.
Well my best friend did move into my apartment- which is pretty cool. I think it's been going well. Job hunt's going a little slow, but hell, after how much time I spent looking for a job last year I'm not all too surprised. Something should turn up sooner or later.

So yesterday was pretty cool. I got some awesome presents, did some stuff, ate some steak, and tried salvia.
Now, I was previously led to believe salvia was a big waste of money. Jay had it once before and all it did was play with his depth perception a little. So when were at Area 69 (adult video and smoke shop now with three convenient locations) buying a bong for me, I was a little on the fence when Jay started eying the salvia rack behind the counter.
He figured if we couldn't get pot, we might as well find something to have a little fun with and that a little distortion in our depth perception was right up our alley. So we ended up buying a gram of 21x salvia.
We get home set up the bong and we get started, with Zeta playing babysitter. On the first hit we just had giggle fits- anything was making us laugh. Nothing bad at all. We came back relaxed and set up for the next one.
This time I sat back on the couch and I, laughing once again, started thinking I had fallen half way through a little door into a big colorful ball pit and that Jay was reaching a hand in to pull me out. As I came out of it again, the ball pit became the colorful blanket I was laying on and the pac-man pillow case next to me. This one was pretty neat. Ball pits <3
The last round of the night was a little scary. We upped our doses a lit more and this time when it hit me- I’m not sure if there’s a loss of time or if I was just thrown right into what I was seeing.
This one’s a little weird to explain without seeming crazy, but suddenly it was like looking at the pages of a book under a super powered microscope zoomed in to the point where a single page might seem like a whole foot thick. The three of us were individual pages (we’re somehow oddly attached on the top edge) and my page was being turned away from Jay and Zeta.
Next to me there was nothing- just like a dark pit all of a sudden. A little ways a across from me I could see the dude on the page before me saying this like "Yeah this is what happens, this is all we are are these little fucking slips of paper and there’s nothing you can do about it when it’s your turn."
I kinda freaked. I reached out for Jay who was sitting beside me and held onto him tightly as I kept having the feeling of being pulled away. It confused me that they couldn’t see what I was seeing at first, I couldn’t comprehend why they couldn’t see the nothingness beside me or the other guy (page?) calling out. "They don’t care, they don’t know, but they’ll find out when it comes to them!"
They tell me I was freaking out and yelling a little, I was gone a for good while and to be honest, I was kinda scared- this seemed like a pretty mind blowing thing to see. I think I was yelling things like "Oh my god!" and "Fuck! What the fuck is happening! Pull me back in! Pull me back in!" Their "pages" looked to me like a window back into the moment we were in and I thought I could hold on to Jay and pull myself back into it. To my left though there really was absolutely nothing but a darkness that's kind of hard to explain. (I really should try to sketch this thing out, shouldn't I?)
Slowly the world started shifting back to normal, but I couldn’t stop holding Jay almost trying to pull myself onto him. As everything fell back into normal, I eased up again and they turned to me asking if I was alright. I just exhaled and nodded. They asked what I had seen and I immediately found myself in a joking mood. "I SAW THE END OF DAYS!" I exclaimed with my hands up in the air which made Zeta go, "Shit, really?" and I shook my head and laughed, "Nah."
I told them about it and they just thought I was crazy. And yeah, it does sound pretty fucking crazy doesn't it?
So even though that was pretty uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh crazy as fuck, salvia's not too bad. I think I might try it again some time. |

I've been away for a while. Well, sort of. It's been a very long time since I've sat here at my keyboard and focused on making a real post in this thing. Man even now I don't really know what to say. Aside from unemployment and my lack of herbal remedies I don't really have any complaints.
Alright so the weather's a little cold, but hey, what did I expect? I didn't move to Portland for the sunny weather (though it is awfully beautiful here in the spring/summer, hell even the fall!).
Anyway...
So what's been up in dear old Oki's life? I did a lot of traveling during christmas. Had a real family vacation at Disneyland with my folks (arguments and all!). If it wasn't for the whiskey and the bud, I think I would have gone mad at times, but all in all, it was a good way to spend a little time with my family.
Had a blast in El Paso like always. Got sick for most of it though, which blew D:
Came back and had an awesome new years with the boys full of merriment and booze for days.

After everyone left and we settled back into regular life, we found out somebody stole our goddamn catalytic converter off of our goddamn truck (can you tell I'm still mad about it?). I ever find that fuck who took it, I'll violate them with a crowbar and use their skull as a candy dish (maybe put some little LEDs in the eye sockets). At least it's finally fixed. Well, mostly...
The job hunt isn't going quite as well. Jay's just about got himself something which is good, but I'm starting to think my skills aren't glimmering enough to get even the easiest job's attention. I went to one interview at the beginning of the week and since I didn't get a call within the last three days then I guess that means I didn't get hired. Well fuck. Back to craigslist.
In brighter news I did decide on a sort of "career". I'm going to be a bartender- I've got enough people telling me that I should and few more solid ideas on what I should expect from the job. It should help me open up, I should be slinging conversation left and right in almost no time. Of course it'll take work- I need to remember faces, names, drink preferences, and even just thousands of drink recipes. Won't be too hard. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it.

Welp.
I got the apartment clean again but as for the drawing...
every time I started I just hit another wall and lost all motivation/confidence in what I was doing. I guess I just can't stand the tablet right now, I thirst for my traditional ways. [/rant]
Anyway. I finally got every dish in the apartment clean, I moved around the posters that needed moving to make room for new ones, I vacuumed and picked up pawfuls of hair D:
Fucking furries, we're shedding everywhere.
I cleaned out the fridge and realized how little food we actually had. Time for groceries. Jay says he'll take care of it tomorrow while I'm at work which I guess is fine. I half expect for him to put it off until he comes to pick me up though since Zeeter's comin' over.
Anyway, maybe I'll sit down and get to those artses sometime soon. Sit myself down with some real paper and sketch out something to trace with the tablet. Hopefully.
