So...what should I write?

Tonight, for the first time with matt_murdock, I wrote a TM prompt that was a third-person ficlet rather than a first-person journal entry. So, I thought I'd repost here. (I think this is my first ficpost this year? I am a sad, bad fangirl.)

Sort of a placeholder for actual fannish content. I might not do these things immediately soon, but I want to finish this stuff before I start any big new fannish projects.

- Edit and post Chapter 6 of Permeation. (Star Wars)
- Finish writing, edit and post, final chapters of Now the Rain is Gone. (Blind Justice) [Yes, really. I read through it the other day and decided I want to finish it.]
- Finish the House, MD fic that has been within a paragraph or two of being done since season 2 when I started writing it. (House)
- Finish and post (or submit to ViVidCon) Narnia vid. (Chronicles of Narnia)
- Get caught up on theatrical_muse and try to ease Logan back into roleplaying if possible. (I think I'm going to keep Matt prompts-only, or nearly so. The TM Marvelverse is a little too intimidating for me.)
- Consider writing that Fionavar fic before the fandom-crush I'm feeling fades.

There are some things I'd really like to do, that I've meant to do for awhile, like outlining and writing the next (and probably final) fic in the "Office Hours" crossover 'verse, writing a sequel to "Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda" (my last year's xmmficathon story), starting to post the other Star Wars WIP I have on my hard drive, starting new one-shots for various fandoms (especially ideas I've had for awhile), but I think I'm going to spend the next few months doing some fannish housekeeping and tying up loose ends. (Like, for example, the WIPs I haven't touched since 2005. Ahem.)

Now, to deal with that pesky Real Life stuff so that I have more free time! *gets busy*

(Actually, I can't or shouldn't, at least not right now and I know it--I have too much other stuff to do, including fannish stuff like editing and posting chapter 6 of my Star Wars WIP "Permeation," finishing and posting a vid, and catching up on TM responses before my hiatus ends. But--but--I really wanna!)

Also, why am I falling in love so hard with The Fionavar Tapestry lately, anyway? I blame Ysabel (oh, Dave!), but I've always considered the FT to be my least favorites of all GGK's work. So...wtf? This time around, the characters are killing me. Guh. Falling hard. (Though I still--as always--can't stand Jennifer.)

By the way, fantasy fans on my flist, if you haven't read anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, I highly recommend him.

And btw (part the second) for my fellow GGK fans--is it just me, or is Loren/Matt supposed to be canon?

Tartanshell Does Snape/Daredevil in a Nutshell (not to be taken seriously):

ACT III:
(A shadowed table, off the dance floor of a dimly-lit club. Smoke floats lazily overhead while music pulses in the background. Lots of attractive, sweaty men--some in bondage gear, some in costume, some not--dance and mingle. In the foreground, a small, round table with one mug of beer, half-full, and one glass of liquor, also half-full, are also sweating, but with condensation instead of perspiration. Two men sit before the drinks. One is a tall gent with long, greasy black hair, dark eyes, and a huge nose. A huge scar mars his neck and face. He is clad in black; sits warily. The other man is masked, wearing a red leather devil costume. He sits with the casual grace of a true master of martial arts and legalese.)

Snape: I don't know what you're playing at. How can you sit there so calmly and say you love me? Everyone hates me! Everyone...except her. But even she turned from me, and I was left with years of bitterness and students with bad penmanship! Sad is my lot in life! (Takes a drink; gestures.)

Daredevil: (Quizzical head-tilt.) Well, for starters, I use a computer. Any love notes from me will be in neat, tidy Times New Roman. In twelve-point for added readability! (Shrugs.) Besides, I know all about bitterness. I am totally cool with it. Do you like brooding on rooftops?

Snape: Well, in dungeons, but--what am I saying? Surely you don't really mean this! I am ugly! I have always been ugly, and now I am even moreso! Besides that, I'm an utter bastard with few redeeming qualities.

(A long pause.)

Daredevil: (Peels off his mask.) I can't see you.

Snape: (Gapes.) ...Oh. All right then. What I meant to say was, I am an incredibly handsome individual, and--

Daredevil: (Laughs.) You smell terrific, and I sense that a relationship with you would be incredibly bad for me. You have no idea how much that turns me on.

(The lights fade to black as they begin to kiss passionately, with Snape batting DD's hands away every time they get close to his face or hair.)

So, with all that's been going on in my RL lately, I've really needed an escape. I wanted this to be a surprise and not say anything until it was finished (you know how I am about posting WIPs and never finishing them), but now it's DONE and I can SAY SOMETHING, FINALLY!11!
