Lulz? [Monday, May 12, 2008 @ 12:05 AM]

MOOD: excited
MUSIC: My brother's speakers through the WALL.

Okay, wow. I must have been living in my own (Supernatural?) world as of late, because I seem to have missed some very important pieces of information.

Primarily the fact that GALE IS GOING TO BE ON TV IN A WEEK. WTF? Seriously. I can't believe I've overlooked this shit. It could definitely have been a better show, but I'll take him any way I can get him. Literally. ;]

Also, Van Hansis is coming out or something? Granted Perez Hilton's not the best source for authentic information, but it's interesting all the same.

Um. Okay. I'm going to bed now before I end up finding out that John Cusack's been elected president of some foreign land or something. Shit. Now I really want to read that and move there.

KNIGHT.

Kripkito [Sunday, May 11, 2008 @ 06:25 PM]

MOOD: satisfied
MUSIC: Canary Burns

So I just now realized that Kripke wrote/produced Boogeyman. I'm pretty much disturbed even more than usual now since I often count that as one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And I've seen A LOTTT of bad movies. No, seriously. I troll the horror shelves of Blockbuster and add films with the most ridiculous possible synopses to my online queue. I also often die a little bit inside while viewing them. Anyway, this information reaffirms the fact that Kripke owns the DVD set of every WB shows ever created, and definitely watches them all religiously. But whatevz. He's still my absolute hero. YOUDAMAN, KRIPKE. For serious.

Oh, hey. So I cleaned practically all day yesterday. I organized allll of my art stuff in the guestroom/Rory's room/my art room. Then I cleaned the seemingly endless amount of clothing off of my floor. I even cleaned the entire upstairs bathroom. Then this morning I made breakfast burritos for my family. WTF?domestic.

I took my Art History final on Friday. I also finished first as usual and then sat there for ten minutes wondering how everyone else was seriously still working on it. WTFevz. Afterward Ashlae and I got breakfast burritos from El Burrito Loco (awww, El) and went downtown. We visited Josh at the bux so I could give him his burrito, then walked around until he got off work. We chilled outside for a while after that, and then eventually Ash's girlfriend picked her up so Josh and I went to Latte 101 (O HI MEG THX FOR THE TASTY BEVERAGE) and Blockbuster.

So anyway. THE SUMMER IS HERE and I've decided to actually accomplish things this time around. For instance, books. I have lots and lots of books that I've yet to read/finish reading. Not to mention that my house is practically filled with books I've never really considered reading but probably should for one reason or another. Also, movies. I probably have 50gb of movies on my hard drive that I haven't even watched yet. Woops! And maybe since I have time now, it'll take me less than a month to actually watch and return my rentals. Which reminds me....

I watched Potluck the other day. It was made by the people from High Times magazine, and someone on IMDB described it as "Cheech and Chong meets Goodfellas." Yeah. It was completely ridiculous AND completely awesome. I had no idea before I watched it but Charles Malik Whitfield (Henricksen!) was in it . And he played a cop. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Then I realized that there were two musician BFFLs, one with long blonde hair and a cowboy hat, and the other with long dark hair. Um. Yeah. And THEN, I started picturing the two criminal brothers as Sam and Dean, and the mom who one of the brothers always fights with as John Winchester. Best thing ever. I also didn't know Jason Mewes was going to be in it until he was on the screen, and then I started feeling dirty because I actually have two movies rented right now that A) have Jason Mewes in them and B) have nothing to do with Kevin Smith. Shudder.

Anyway. I'm going to go eat some tasty food now. KBYE.

Street lights [Thursday, May 08, 2008 @ 05:11 PM]

MOOD: blurry
MUSIC: Journey in my head thx to my car radio.

AHHH I never post anymore. I think about it all the time when I'm out randomly. "Oh shit, I'm totally going to post that in my LJ." But by the time I have Semagic open I'm completely blank. Whatevz. The summer is upon us, so maybe I'll actually do something worth writing about. Probably not. ;]

Josh's actual birthday was last Wednesday. We shared burritos and nachos from Corrales on Kalorama. Then we walked around downtown briefly and drove around, before eventually going to Kevin's class.

On Thursday I had my speech interview thing. There was no one else there when I got there. He seriously looked at my outline for like 20 seconds, glanced at my petition (which was in a folder and upside down), didn't even ASK about my visual aides (photoshopped, printed, stapled and staring him in the face next to my outline kthx). wrote an A on my paper and said "There ya go. Seeya." Best speech class ever. And worst. It was seriously 7:02 when I got back to my car, and that class officially begins at 7:00. So I still had two hours to kill until Supernatural. I went to Starbucks to get free Green Tea from Josh and ended up waiting for him to get off work, going downtown with him and Liz to get his schedual, and then driving to his house in Santa Paula to chillax with them for a while. We watched the show and ate tasty food.

I attempted to go to the gym on Friday and realized the car needed a new radiator. Apparently it's allergic to Santa Paula. So I napped and watched zombie movies instead. Yay!

On Saturday I went thrifting with my Mom in the morning. I bought an American Eagle denim jacket, which is really random since I don't wear jean jackets. It's pretty tough looking, though. Kinda like the tight motorcycle jackets that zip down the middle and don't have collars. I'm probably never going to wear it, though. For zerious. We went to the mall after that, where I got some freakin' sweet grecian-esque sandals, pajama shorts, a tanktop, and some jewelry. Also, Jellies coming back? Awesome. We went to Albertson's after that, and Pop had fixed my car by the time we got home, so I went to the gym for a while and did Sudoku on the bikes. HAH!

Sunday? Monday? No idea. That probably implies J2 and pomegranate lemonade.

I had my last two critiques on Tuesday. My 2D final ended up being a graphic I made in the style of a vintage film but it was actually supposed to be the cover of a zine about Gialli. I obviously had to explain WTF I was talking about until people could vaguely understand. Hah. I totally just decided what to do and did my Drawing & Comp final the night before, so I barely had any sleep. It ended up being a characoal of that Men's Fitness photo with Jensen Ackles walking away from the camera in the auto/junk yard. Everyone liked it, but it was really random for me since I usually charcoal things super contrasty and blended with dynamic lighting ala Caravaggio, but this one was really scribbley to emulate a Degas sketch. Then I matted it with black above and below to look like a still. I'm such a geek. Later that night I went to the gym and logged my last hour, so I have at least 50 now. Yay for A's.

Yesterday I had my last Art History lecture. I went home, read, and wrote my Western Religion essay after that. Then I actually went to that class and took my test. I wasn't there for half of it and it was short in general, but I loved the Islam unit. I'm going to miss Kevin's classes soooooo bad. He was seriously the first one to make me love Philosophy. And love learning about religions, too. Especially Eastern. His Hinduism lectures are some of my favorites. Anyway, after class I went to Vons with Josh to pick up juice for the 2D party today, dropped him back at his car at school, and went home, where I made lots of icons and read.

I barely slept again last night, but at least I didn't actually have an assignment to worry about or put off. We had our party, looked through everyone's sketchbooks, listened to Michelle talk for a while about getting shows and things, and did these mini artist presentations. I brought in my Mikey Welsh pieces and talked for a bit about what I love about his work. Then I picked up my painting from the student show and came home. I'm now avoiding "studying" for my art history final tomorrow morning. Le sigh. It's sort of surprising how much I've really learned from those art history classes. Whenever I see a piece from a certain period or artist my mind's automatically like "oh shit! that bitch was influenced by persian manuscripts!" or "hey! he killed himself a year after that was made." I've actually come to the realization several times that the paintings i've grown up around in my house are actually notable. I've literally said "that used to be in my downstairs bathroom" to Josh like four times about different prints.

I want to do a lot of things this summer. I really hope I actually manage to do some of them. I should make a list, but if I do then I'll probably just get depressed in the fall when I've only done 10% of it. I DO NOT HAVE A NEGATIVE OUTLOOK. COUGH. I really don't. I'm just realistic about my tendency to idealize things beforehand. Now I'm going to stop transcribing my inner monologue and read or something. KBYE.

Kthxbye. [Monday, April 28, 2008 @ 04:20 PM]

MOOD: amused
MUSIC: SPN

I attempted to go to class on Tuesday. I really did. But there Josh and I were, chilly and tired and really not anticipating the three-hour marathon of texting and "bathroom" breaks that my first and his only class of the day typically brings. So we went to the beach, bought old man sweaters at the thrift store, and drank Soy Chai while belting out the lyrics to various Blue Oyster Cult and Rufus Wainwright songs interchangeably. Then I actually

When we actually managed to attend 2D Color & Design on Thursday, Michelle<3 handed me a certificate and informed me that, apparently, the star sticker on my painting actually meant that I got an honorable mention. Pretty freakin' rad considering I totally didn't even think to attend the award ceremony. Woops!

Belen and I went downtown and walked around Artwalk on Friday night. Looking at the collection of bullshit stereotypical watercolor paintings of the fucking pier that people manage to sell for $500 down there, I realized a few things; namely that tourists have bad taste and full pockets, and oh hi, I could be SO rich by now if the idea of making a painting that's been done a thousand times before didn't depress me so much. There was a really rad band playing for a while, but I can't remember their name right now, so this sentence is pointless. I ordered Shboom and I Only Have Eyes for You from the table-side jukebox at the Busy Bee and "patiently" waited for them to play while Belen ate the soup of the day. I'm a rhyming machine, dude.

Josh and I went over to Marnie's last night for a sort of birthday dinner party for him. She, Dave and Gabby all made a ridiculous amount of delicious food. There was coconut rice, fried plantains, mango, pineapple, shrimp tempura, greenbean tempura, BBQ wings, and brownies & ice cream for dessert. We sort of died from happiness. After eating we played some pseudo-pictionary called Cloodle or something. It was pretty hilarious. Marnie and I won because we're obviously awesome. ;] Then we watched Oceans 13, and Josh and I went home, but not before dirving around for like half an hour through some fancy new neighborhoods in an attempt to avoid going home and our subsequent mirrored descents into boredom.

Today I woke up, made a tasty smoothie, started reading a Sam/Dean story, and totally ended up ditching my Art History class. Woops! For the last couple of hours I've really just been looking at horror movie merchandise online. There's really too small a collection of quality giallo shirts for sale. Plz fix kthx.

Now I'm going wander around my house aimlessly until I eventually settle for watching MTV Tr3s and/or reading some excellent J2 AU. Bye!

SURPRISE, MOTHERFUCKERS! [Friday, April 18, 2008 @ 12:58 AM]

MOOD: asleep
MUSIC: Supernatural

I don't think anything really exciting's happened over the last week or so. I chilled with Hannah and Amber at some point, probably last Wednesday night, instead of going to Kevin's. I also hung out with Belen at Portola and B&N on Sunday. That's pretty much all I remember doing other than going to school/the gym and reading.

I went to my 2D Color & Design class yesterday and messed around on my laptop for 3 hours. Then I skipped my Drawing class so Josh and I could buy tasty breakfast burritos and eat them by the beach. I went home then, watched some Supernatural for fun, took a nap, and ate a quesadilla. I met Josh at the gym later on, and then we walked around the Student Art Show opening. My painting had a sticker on it, so I'm guessing it may have been sold. Yay.

Le Yawn [Sunday, April 06, 2008 @ 03:05 PM]

MOOD: sleepy
MUSIC: 1450 The Boomer

So on Monday after Art History, Ash and I went and chillaxed at Arroyo Verde. Then we got some tasty smoothies and walked around Barnes and Noble for a bit. When I went home I put off doing my charcoal that was due the next morning while I watched hours of Supernatural. Eventually I decided to forego the charcoal all together.

On Tuesday I went to my first art class, skipped the second, and went home to write my art history paper.

I went to class on Wednesday and turned the aforementioned paper in. Then I wrote my essay for Western Religion, went to Kevin's class, took the test, went to Starbucks, drank a quad Caramel Macchiato, went home, wigged out until 3:30am when I finished the second of two art projects I had to complete/do entirely, and attempted to sleep but really only got about an hour in total.

So I "woke up" on Thursday morning, went to critique, took a mental nap while watching a movie about fonts, went to my other class, drew boxes, and went home. I took a nap, went to the gym, and met up with Hannah, Gladys and Devo at Gladys' house. We chillaxed and eventually I dropped Hannah off, and went home to sleep.

Did I even leave the house on Friday? I really can't recall.

Yesterday I went to the gym and Robeks with Josh. Then I went home, showered, and caught up with Supernatural. Now that I've seen all of them thus far, I suppose I'll need to start re-watching again. It's probably safe to assume that my SPN episode knowledge will someday equal my QAF episode knowledge. Odd. Anyway, at some point last night I picked Hannah up. We got some drinks from Josh at the bux and walked around B&N for a while. Then we met Kira at a house she was babysitting at. We chillaxed, watched parts of Into The Wild and made inappropriate comments about Emile Hirsch (I did, at least ;]). We also managed to eat an unearthly amount of delicious Trader Joe's treats.

Now I'm watching television shows on my computer. Because that's a very strange and unlikely occurrence, right? KBYE.
