Sun, Jul. 20th, 2008, 01:28 am Brain Comics Outtakes #1
Brain Comics #118Also, I finally got off my figurative cartoonist butt and added transcriptions for all the comics that were still missing them - comics #2 through #24. It should now be possible to read through the entire comic archive as text. And once Google catches up, it should also be possible to search through the entire comic archive.
Sat, Jul. 19th, 2008, 06:03 pm A shout-out to all the druggists in the audience!
Friday's comic, late as usual: Brain Comics #117
Wed, Jul. 16th, 2008, 12:02 am Besides, we already did a comic with an exploding pineapple.
Mon, Jul. 14th, 2008, 12:14 am Contents may have shifted during SCIENCE

Sometimes, on a rare occasion, I actually feel compelled to sketch out a rough draft of a strip before laying out the vectors. The weird thing is, sometimes I unexpectedly end up with sketchy bits I actually quite like:

Fri, Jul. 4th, 2008, 12:32 am Pudding Hijinx!
So I have had this carton of hazelnut milk sitting unloved in my fridge for a while now. I had originally bought it hoping it'd be richer-tasting than soy or rice milk, but it turned out to taste too much like hazelnut to be any good over cereal. I also have several packets of chocolate pudding mix I inherited from adularia that were originally bought for her canoe trip. Perhaps you can see where this is going. So, in the name of SCIENCE, I decided to mix up a batch of chocolate-and-hazelnut-milk pudding, just to see what would happen. The result: a bit gritty, but tasty! That's right folks: I think I've invented nutella pudding. Vegan nutella pudding. (Also, instant pudding is weird. It set thick almost as soon as I started whisking it. Corn starch truly is an amazing thing.) Fri, Jul. 4th, 2008, 12:07 am The Travelling Brainleys - Part 4
Tue, Jul. 1st, 2008, 01:19 pm Destiny Calls
Today, as I was walking down the sidewalk, I spotted a phone booth. An actual, honest to God phone booth, albeit one sans door. I'd seen it before, but it occurred to me that phone booths were so rare that this one warranted investigating. Perhaps it was a TARDIS! Perhaps it was a doorway to ADVENTURE. I took a step towards the booth and peered in. The phone rang. I stared at it in shock. It rang again. Maybe I should answer it. Maybe it was destiny calling me. I stepped up, squared my shoulders, and answered the call of destiny. "Hello?" A pause, and then a voice at the other end: "Hi, is <name> there?" "I believe you have the wrong number; this is a pay phone," I responded. "Oh. Sorry," the other voice answered, and hung up. Destiny must have had a wrong number. * Marched in the Seattle Dyke March; a small group of good company surrounded by a much larger crowd of...less good company. Feel oddly alienated now. Wondering who my actual peers are. * Trying to explain my various career ambitions to someone earlier this week, I realized that really, deep down I just want to be Buckaroo Banzai. * Am shortly going to be attempting to construct a soy version of Chunky Monkey. * Considering seeing Wall-E tomorrow, because my life needs more robots in it. Anyone else interested? Mon, Jun. 23rd, 2008, 09:15 pm The Travelling Brainleys - Part 3

Mon, Jun. 16th, 2008, 12:04 am Brainley later travelled back in time and sold this idea to the people who made "The Flying Nun".
Fri, Jun. 13th, 2008, 10:41 pm Always with the lasers.
Lapsang is playing with a laser pointer. Not 'playing with' as in 'chasing', mind you, but rather 'playing with' as in 'batting at curiously'. God help us all if she ever figures out how to operate it.
Fri, May. 30th, 2008, 04:22 am I have no idea why I'm up so late. Perhaps I'm waiting for a duel to break out.
Brain Comics #107ETA: Win! When I got into work this morning there were leftover pancakes. A tasty case of life imitates art!
