join out_iconned, a very cool icon challenge comm with a very cool concept:

People will be randomly placed into teams. There will be three (or more, depending on how many people sign up) teams. Each team will have their own LJ community where they can discuss everything. Even though you play as teams in the beginning, you will all be split up and eventually play individually. That means, of course, only one person will win out_iconned. Each week there will be a challenge. You will make an icon. In your team journal, you will be able to discuss what icons you want to submit. You don't need to discuss your icons with your group, though...you don't even need to talk to your group if you don't want to. Voting will be grouped by your team. The team with the most bad votes each week will be forced to boot someone from their team.

so basically, survivor for icons. there are already some great makers signed up. so come sign up too!

first of all, i'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the poll in the previous post. i really appreciate it, and i will be taking what everyone said into consideration. an extra special thank you to those who left me screened comments :) you guys rock.

i guess my main reason for doing the poll was the gradual decline in comments on my posts from ppl who have the comm friended, vs. ppl who look at the post via where i cross post it. always know that i lurve (yes lurve, not love) comments, even if you don't save any icons! they truly do make me smile on the inside, no matter how cliche that sounds.

yeah so i got the itch to create a new community.
requestlines is for iconmakers to post open requests when they don't mind extending the invitation to others outside of their graphics community / lj / what have you. i think it's a pretty cool concept. hopefully it gets some traffic.
