Seeing as it's been almost a year since my last post, I think it's safe to say this journal is not going anywhere. I've started to kind of keep track of my reads on Goodreads, so find me there. :-)

Since coming back here a few weeks ago I managed to forget my password and didn't want to take the time to search for it/change it. Today I took the time and here I am!

A few weeks ago I was reading:
A Stroke of Midnight - Laurel K. Hamilton
New Moon - Stephanie Meyer
Silent Echoes - Carla Jablonski (Technically, since I made it to Chapter 16 before I had to leave it at my friends...now I need to get it from the library so I can finish it!)

I've since finished New Moon as well as Gentlemen & Players. I've also read a few chapters from my lovely textbook for the class I recently started. Oh joy. For the interested few, it's Arlene Taylor's Introduction to Cataloging and Classification. I think that's about all I've had time for. And now that it's midnight and I have work in the morning, I think I'll be going.

Dear me. I'm a terrible person to have neglected this so long. That's what happens when I don't bookmark it and forget my password. Oops! Also, I've decided to give up on my idea of updating after I finish every book. I'll do it when I feel like it and have time. If you're interested in knowing about a book I read, ask!

Let's look at what I was reading back at the beginning of February (when I last posted - SLACKER!)

In February:
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West - Gregory Maguire
A Stroke of Midnight - Laurel K. Hamilton
The Secret Garden - Frances Hodgson Burnett
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austin

Since then I know I've finished all but A Stroke of Midnight. I also know that I followed Wicked with Son of a Witch and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister (which for some reason I thought was also an Oz book...oh well). I think I liked Son of a Witch best and I know I liked Confessions least. At some point I might read some others but not yet. I also started Northanger Abbey just a few days after Pride and Prejudice, which I have also finished.

Anyhow, I've read some other books, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, some older teen books (Can I Sue My Parents For Malpractice was just one of them), and more recently Twilight, The Messenger and Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood. Last night I finished Forever in Blue and immediately started New Moon (the book following Twilight). I also found the Xanth novel I had started, so I finished that one as well (Centaur Aisle) and eventually I'll probably pick those back up again, but right now I'm not in the mood.

Also, I'm finally actively seeking books in my imaginary TBR pile and I'm always taking recommendations for additions to the list. Oh, and I also need a good icon or five.

Having watched Bride and Prejudice not long ago, I decided it was time to read Pride and Prejudice again. Thanks to dailylit.com I was able to start The Secret Garden, which I've never before gotten around to, and now I've begun Pride and Prejudice. Now let's just hope I can still get my work done!

I realized I should keep everyone updated on what I'm currently reading. Since that's not an option for LJ, I'll have to try and remember it at the end of every post. Since I don't have time for my first book review, I'll leave you with my current reading list.

If I remember, I will continue to update this entry as I think of more books (or have them recommended) and as I read them.

This is my new journal specifically for all things books. I plan on keeping track of what I've read as well as what I'd like to read. Recommendations are welcome. I'm going to try and update whenever I finish a book, and since I'm just about done with one of the three I'm reading, the first update should be soon.

This is mostly a way for me to keep track of what I've read and liked and what I'm planning on eventually reading, but I'm up for meeting new friends too, so if you think I'm cool feel free to mention it. :-)
