I hate that it has to be that way, but LJ has changed for me over the years. This is a place that I come to hang with my friends.

Next weekend I'm in Del Mar for a three day show. It's a great show and I LOVE the organizers. One of them emailed me the other day saying that Fox 6 was going to do a segment and they wanted to feature my jewelry ... they also featured one of my designer friends Eric from Chillers and a handbag line that's made out of recycled juice boxes.

Ly just called and said that the C-Section went good - Young Cristobal is tiny at 5 lbs 2 oz - and 18" long - but he's healthy and good.
She said that the family is well ... and baby WILL be able to come home with her on Sunday.
Such KILLER news !!
I'm SO happy for them.

I don't think I have EVER in all my years on LJ asked for anyone to vote for me - haha ... where is my Vote for Kristy shirt when I need it? haha
One of the sites I frequent and have been trying to work with (stylebakery.com) is doing a "On the Rise" vote. They will feature whatever hot/hip designer gets the most votes on their site and in their newsletter. That would be GREAT for My Little Pretty :-D
All you have to do is go to the site and fill out the ballot (which is below the text explaining what this is). The jewelry portion is at the top of the form - you put in My Little Pretty in the jewelry box and then put in my website www.mylittlepretty.com.
Of course if there are other up and coming designers you'd like to nominate at the same time, please feel free to do so. I think it's a great way to get some of us a little more exposure :D Once you've filled out the ballot, if you feel like passing it on to others, I'd certainly not argue with you - haha
I know how powerful all of our friends lists are and it would be awesome to get the most votes for My Little Pretty.

Ok ... MANY of you said that you'd want to know so you could make your own assessment, etc. If you AREN'T one of those, please stop HERE - believe me you don't wanna keep reading - hehe.
For those of you still following along ...
I do believe that we all have the right to know that someone we correspond with online is who they claim to be. I understand that some create fictitious personalities and such, but to be honest, I don't usually go the extra mile for those people knowingly. This person I have spent many hours chatting with, talking on the phone, emailing, etc. and to me, that constitutes more than just "someone" I read about for entertainment purposes. I spent much time counseling probs and such with her and I don't do that for people that aren't my "friends". It is also my opinion that there will be some folks hurt by this revelation. To those, I'm sorry to be the one to do this, but I have to do what I believe is right here.
I emailed her earlier this week to let her know my thoughts, ask some questions, etc. and asked her to reply. I still haven't heard a peep from her. I told her in the email that I would be posting it if I didn't hear back from her by the following day. So now it's Friday, two days after I emailed her, and there's still no word. I've tried to call her cell a few times and it's gone to voicemail after ringing quite a bit.
At this point I'm done. It is my belief after all the evidence that the LJ CSI team compiled, that ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) melkbell is not who she claims to be. I don't know who she really is, but I do know that she's NOT who/where she claims here on LJ. So I guess now, if she's a friend of yours too, you should read the following email that I sent to her and come to your own conclusions. Nobody is asking you to unfriend anyone. I guess it's more about informing you so that YOU can be fully aware of the findings. Then you are free to make up your own mind about how much you trust this person with your information, etc.

Last night Nikki and I caught up on the phone and she said she wanted to see some of those 50 pieces that I finished last weekend. So here goes.
But first ... way back when I bought some glass beads from my friend mellusions and I LOVED them so much. I couldn't decide what to do with them ... and then kept forgetting about them. A couple of weeks ago I pulled them out and decided to whip them into something. Here's what I came up with ...
This necklace is made of jet black crystals, sterling silver findings and mellusions's beautifully unique glass beads ... yes ... especially for me in animal print (although I think my Aunt is going to buy this from me no matter what ;-))
This one is made of black onyx and again ... her beautifully unique black and white glass blown beads. I love them so much !

That's right folks ... my jewelry site is officially up and running as of today. WooHoo !! Check it out !!
First off I'd like to thank the beautiful and talented designdiva for all her hard work on this. She designed the whole thing for me and I just couldn't be happier with her work. You will probably be hearing me sing her praises for quite some time. She's AWESOME !!
Secondly ... I'm not announcing this to my whole email list until next week ... only my Live Journal friends (and their friends and their friends). The reason for this is that you guys are more computer savvy than most of them and if there are any glitches you will be more understanding and helpful in dealing with them ... besides that ... I wanted to give you guys first dibs - haha
Please feel free to spread the word that it's up and running ... oh ... and a couple of you have asked about banners. designdiva also did one of those for me. If you would like to use one, you can nab the code HERE !!

They say when you are going to address a big group of people that you should start by warming the crowd up with a joke ... so ... here is one that might even lend a hand to something serious that I want to address here and now .....

Two Southern Belle's are sitting on the big porch sipping lemonade ... the younger, less experienced of the two, Julene, takes a sip of her drink and leans back as she says ...
"You know ... for my 1st wedding anniversary my husband bought me this pretty diamond bracelet ... "
Samantha just looked at her and slowly drawled ... "How nice for you" in her breathy voice ...
Julene then said ... "and for my 5th wedding anniversary ... my husband built me those tennis courts over yonder"
Samantha just sipped her lemonade ... and again slowly drawled ... "How nice for you"
Still trying to impress ... Julene says ... "and for my 10th wedding anniversary he built me that wonderful guest house and award winning rose garden over there ..."
Samantha just smiled ... and said again ... "How nice for you"
Julene takes a sip from her lemonade and says ... "Samantha ... what HAS your husband done for you?"
Samantha looks her straight in the eye and says ... "well Julene ... he sent me to this wonderful charm school ..."
Julene looked a little confused and said, "Charm School ... why on earth would you need that?"
and Samantha said "well you see Julene ... it was there that I learned the most valuable lesson of my life ... they taught me how to be a PROPER lady ... instead of saying ... Fuck You ... I now smile and say ... How Nice for you !"
