The wanderings of packages In the same vein as the Fedex package that went via Memphis, for a trip of less than a mile, a UPS package I'm waiting for appears to be taking a rather unusual route. here is a map listing the cities it's visited, in order. I have to wonder about the backtracking after the excursion to Louisville; did it get loaded on the wrong truck? Or was it not going to arrive in time, and they decided to ship it via air rather than ground? |

Earlier today I was walking along the river that flows through Dublin. |

Gasworks
That big round thing is the remains of the old gasworks. It's now apartments. |

Here's the same panorama as before, but in zoomify format, so it should be easier to view. |

A quick panormama from yesterday's wanderings. This is the park between the Chester Beatty Library, and the Dublin Castle. Hugin's new "enfuse" blending option did a good job of correcting the varying exposure settings, but there are a couple of odd blending errors. |

Just a random canal in Dublin that I walked past today. |

Looking at the back of the C Venues C and SoCo venues from SouthBridge (roughly here). The colors are a bit odd, because I was playing with a new feature in Hugin which attempts to compensate for changing exposure and white balance settings, by adjusting all of the images to use a common basis. |

I failed in attempting to get a picture of part 2/2 of Babbage's brain, as I remembered the wrong address for the Royal College of Surgeon's museum. (I remembered Lincon Inn's Fields, but ended up at #13 rather than #35) But, and the address I did remember, I discovered something wonderful: Sir John Soane's Museum. Wow - it's equal parts Win, Crazy, Obsessive, and Cool. From the overwhelming amount of sculpture on display covering every surface, to the depths of the crypt, and the Priest's chambers it's all amazing; From the rooms he designed to hold his huge collection, to the sheer scope of material accumulated by one person. |

Christchurch's cows
Part of Christchurch's small herd of cattle. They had a pretty large field to wander around in. |
 |
Probably the narrowest alley I've ever encountered.
There was a photographer lurking down it, who would take people's pictures when they looked in. |

Just a quick panorama I made today; there was a little too much parallax error with the posts in the foreground. |

peculiaire - is this that cafe we went to last time we were in London? I think it is. |

The fringe is over for the year, and I've got lots of stories to tell. I'll get to them at some point. Right now, I'm in London, at the Generator; and they now have pretty cheap and stable internet access. In my free time I'll start uploading pictures I've taken here if you want to check them out before I start including them in posts. |

The Fringe has been fun I've been having a lot of fun at the Fringe so far; I've seen quite a few plays, Drunk quite a bit of Whiskey, Beer, and Irn Bru, and Eaten many tasty things from Piemaker. Some of the plays I thought were rather good:
- Anna the Slut and the (almost) Chosen One
- The play is by
hungerf9 (my brother), but I hadn't seen it before I came out here. I think it's really good.
- Lie of the Land
- A very good two person show; a nightmare about moving to an unfamiliar place while the world falls apart.
- All Dressed Up To Go Dreaming
- A very creepy one man show (if you don't count the faceless victim).
- Silence in C Minor
- A very fast paced show, based on an internet radio show
- Strippers & Gentlemen
- Staged in an upper floor of a burned out building; it's amazing. I'm going again tonight.
