I forgot to throw this up on the LJ. I enjoy how this one turned out in particular - kinda. I dunno. Leave a comment or two.

I didn't go to the Rennaisance Festival. It is too cold here. I dedicated this weekend to my hair. It has grown so much. It took me a couple of hours to detangle it. I still haven't relaxed it. I think I'm going to keep it natural but hidden until its long enough to wear, if that makes sense.
I going to particpate in nanowrimo again. This time I want to finish. I say that every year though. Last year I wrote about 2500 words. I'm working on plots now and going to do a few outlines.

so much work. i hate newman drama. i hate chemistry. i miss evolution classes and kind of geology. i went to a soup kitchen and felt sad but i enjoy helping people and i wish i could do more for others but instead, i have to write fucking papers on education and figure out what kind of toxic, environment-destroying chemicals i have in a test tube.

Everybody on this planet is a hypocrite. To acknowledge this does not make one a bad person, but it does not excuse their behavior nor justify their actions. I think hypocrisy is a necessary element to some extent, and when recognized can be a humbling experience. It is the nature of human society, and when overcome can act as a catalyst for progressive change.
Thanks, Robert Chambers.

TV notes:
-The new season of Degrassi is full of douchebaggery thus far -- particularly the anti-intellectual new principal. Emma, Manny, and Liberty (and maybe their new boy roommate) are practically the only reasons to hang on. Danny van Zandt all the sudden sauve? pft. Let's get to the whoever's gay eps and the last days of South of Nowhere. sigh.
-I have to say -- the opening credits for Dexter are lovely, enticing, delicious.
-Still waiting for someone's dissertation on class, blackness, identity, and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. That show is an essentialist trip. I am very curious as to who, exactly, were the writers, especially in the early seasons.

Today I...
* Woke up to Avri's romp partner singing off key in the shower * Went to the meeting - John came down this week * Talked to Tamra & Rachelle a bit / Texted k9groomer * Ate Rally's - Had the usual bacon double cheeseburger * Brainstormed with John on an established project and a possible new one * Lost the laptop I was bidding on via ebay. My sniping skills have diminished with not being on there since 2004. Ah, well... I didn't need to spend anyway. * Saw Mirrors- Avri thought the first half was boring and the second half was good. I thought the first third was decent and then it fell into a convoluted mess. * Talked to Rachelle a bit more * Ate Wendy's - Just a baked potato and a half * Read the last of the Eric Bischoff book * Read reviews for Mirrors... I wasn't as harsh on it as the critics (I would have given it a 38% fresh, but maybe I'm just generous). Read Post Secret * Watched two episodes of old Tales from the Darkside and a newer Outer Limits
Now I am going to:
* Eat the other half of that baked potato and perhaps the chicken nuggets * Start on another book- Either the Rock or Batista * Go to sleep

I had a terribly interesting day at the library. I really like my thesis topic. It's refreshing because I spent so much time on subjects I didn't like in London. I looked through a book on COINTELPRO today, which is cool. Basically, the FBI was all up in the Black Panther Party's business and was somewhat responsible for their demise. The memos about discrediting their leaders are CRAZY. But they're not what I'm researching.
I'm stupposed to go to Wildcat tonight, but I don't think it's a good idea to go clubbing on Sundays. I did it last week, though. I have too much to do in any case. I went out on Friday and I almost threw up in public downtown. LOL yeah.
This whole bar thing is not as fun or interesting as it was in London. I wish there were pubs here :(
I should do something constructive now.
