1:10am: Just got back from dinner with an ex-colleague, a current colleague, and four other people in my distant network, in the City. It's mid December: we had a fun time, but the place was quieter than I can ever recall seeing central London at this time of the year.

Score -1 for consumer confidence in Zone 1, roll again.

9:06pm: Working from home on the sofa with one's laptop sounds great, doesn't it? Nice cup of Milo and no work distractions. Why not put your feet up and relax whilst finishing up a work project?

Because, dear friends, the human body just isn't designed for it. I evidently overdid it recently and now am paying the price. Past couple of days I've been getting stabbing pains up and down the right arm (shoulder and bicep) and been waking up yelping in the middle of the night, much to Isabel's understandable annoyance (though she was very kind at ~3am, offering me tablets and an ice pack). So I went to the NHS walk-in clinic today and, yes, a simple muscular strain and that's 2 ibuprofen tablets 3 times a day until it clears up in a day or two. Still bloody hurts. Don't do it.
