Put your MP3 player on random. Write down the first line of the first twenty songs to come up.
So here's my list, though I had to skip a lot of instrumental/foreign language songs, and the ones where the title was in the first line... so here we are :) Now let's see if anyone can even guess half of these...
1) Fumbling his confidence and wondering why the world has passed him by 2) I close both locks below the window 3) We were traveling north to sing and play 4) Hush now baby, don't you cry, rest your wings my butterfly 5) You are beautiful my sweet, sweet, song 6) Let me sail, let me sail 7) The landlords came, the peasant trials 8) Brainstorm, keep me away from the norm 9) I guess it's causing a fit, your heart and mine 10) I grew this heart into a drifter 11) Like the rain that falls to the earth below 12) Across the skies the monuments stand 13) She makes me think of lighting in skies 14) Oh I'm choking, I'm choking on the smoke from this burning house 15) Oh I do believe in all the things you say 16) As I look into the stars, wondering how far away they are 17) When you feel all alone and the world has turned its back on you 18) However you feel, whatever it takes, whenever it's real, whatever awaits me 19) I stood on faith and the corner of ambition 20) I could say it's over now, that I was glad to see you go |

| You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer | Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you're from. And while you may have some problems being "normal," you'll have no problems writing sci-fi. Whether it's epic films, important novels, or vivid comics... Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world! |

I am now Kaye, just so you all know. I'm sick of my name, I've never really liked it, and I'm done settling. I'm just done. So no, I won't answer to Katie anymore, cause it's not my name, it's just that thing I sign on legal documents. Now I just need the courage to enact this out in my life, and force my way through... it'll probably be the hardest with my family... especially since they will want details... though that's not even the hardest part... it will be dealing with the weird looks and the 'oookkkaayyy' and the people who won't or won't want to change... but that's a part of life, I suppose, and they and I will all have to deal with it. Period. It's my life, my pen, and if I'm my own main character in my own book, then I'm going to freaking call myself whatever the hell I want! Now to stand my ground in real life... but to be honest, if I can't stand up about this, then there really is no hope for me :). |

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle. 3. Press play. 4. For every question, type the song that's playing. 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button. 6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.

Opening Credits: Find Yourself - Brad Paisley
Nice... :)

"Won't you sail with me" is in the song, so I guess it fits...

Sort of not really tagged by yjadd...
seven songs that are currently on my mind (in no particular order)...
What I've Done - Linkin Park (Partially because Linkin Park is always good to write to, and partially due to stuff that came up during my week vacation in Kansas which would take too long to explain here)
Real Gone - Sheryl Crow (Because I recently got the Cars soundtrack and I like that song a great deal, for some reason)
America - Josh Groban (Because I can put it on repeat for hours and still not get sick of it. I've done that at work, so yes, I can actually say that)
Beautiful Broken World - Warren Barfield (Because I really do think that this world is as it should be and not some fallen version of some perfect creation God made)
Amber - 311 (Because it takes me back to one of my first novels, one that holds a very dear place in my heart, and in many ways I would love to see it sitting on a bookstore shelf)
Pictures of the Past - Warren Barfield (Because letting go of past crap is something I've been dealing with lately...)
Building a Mystery - Sarah McLachlan (Because I feel like there's a book waiting underneath the words and notes of that song, waiting to be released, fully formed, into my head. I just haven't found it yet. And also because it takes me back to middle school and the first story I ever really put my heart and soul into that completely...) |

So I figured I should update again... no clue why or what to talk about, but I figured I should. I should start spinning again... it's like writing... the more I do it the more I want to, and the less I do the less I want to... annoying, that. That's probably why I haven't so much as looked at my wheel for months, I'm sad to say. It's hiding behind my Mary Kay boxes, actually. That and a dining room chair, lol, we need a maid, our house is a disaster... that, and I need to actually sit down this weekend and clean, dangitall! Time to stop procrastinating and do it!!! I also need to knit more. I've got a 99.99% finished hat for charity I just need to bind off and tie the end in, but I haven't! It's been sitting like that for months! And my chainmaille coif, need to finish that too! And I need to edit! And I need to.... aaahhh!! Okay, right, one thing at a time. Man I wish I had more time... and could sleep too... that would be nice. Or better yet, require little to no sleep! Oh if only. I'd settle for not being tired after constant 7-8 hours of sleep. Course, I don't always go to bed in time to get 7-8 hours, but even when I do I'm tired... gah. Maybe I should just go to bed now... then I'd actually get, what... 7-8 hours, depending on how fast I actually got into bed with everything to do and stuff... anyway... time to stop rambling in any case :) |

I'm not dead, honest! I just started a job in January, as an accounting assistant at a land survey office place thingy about 10 minutes from my house, but what with working 40 hours, having bits of a social life (though not much, I must admit), writing novels, and having also become a Mary Kay beauty consultant, well, I'm just lucky I can eat and sleep and do my laundry, really! I should post more, really, but half the time I don't even know what to write about... I mean... my life isn't all that exciting tbh... so what would anyone actually want to read about? Let me know if any of you can think of something, cause I can't really. Dunno what else there is to say... there are things I could talk about, but most would probably just be boring as heck... so I'll just leave it there for now, especially since I'm practically falling asleep over my keyboard. :) |

Because I'm a geek and also because I'm trying to make one of my characters more 3-D I figured I'd fill out one of those random surveys from their POV. The only real reason, tbh, that I'm posting this is because the only place it doesn't look like jibberish is online, and seeing as next to none of you know anything about this story or characters, this will mean absolutely nothing to you, sorry! Course, who knows if anyone even reads this anyway... :) Watch out, there may be more later.

I wrote an 81,000 word novel in 26 days! Go me and go nanowrimo.org!!
In other news, we had some flooding in the area a few weeks ago. Meant to write about it then, but I never got around to it. It basically involved threats of the dike breaking, but they didn't this year, but that's because somone got smart and got them all to be the same height so there weren't any weak spots. Some broke in other areas, but not here. It's funny though, they're calling it the worst flood in 50 years, when in our area, it definetely isn't. I remember a worse one in the 90's sometime. Course, in some areas it is, but yes. Course, my parents were smart and put all their buildings above the 100 year flood level, so we never have that worry, and the crops were taken up before any of the flooding happened, so you know, it's all good around here!
And in other completely random news, I'm now a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. For those of you who were completely lost by that statement, I will be selling skin care/make up as my own business. Ah, the tax benefits!!
Anyway, that's it around here, really. My life's been pretty boring, well, not boring, just mostly me frantically writing 81,000 words. :D
http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2270289/1/ in case anyone wants to read it. It is the size of a normal novel, and the final bits will be uploaded in the next couple days. |
