I've found that trying to figure out WHY I'm pissy rather than acting on it is quite a bit more effective. That I haven't realized it sooner is a little bit embarrassing, but these are things that some people don't figure out until age forty, so I'm not too worried.

WHICH MEANS that now when I am RAR and GRARGH and "GO AWAY PEOPLE OF THE INTERNET", I am actually getting away from the computer instead of sitting here, listening to music, and playing bejeweled. THIS IS A LITTLE MORE EFFICIENT YES.

As embarrassing as fat pants are, I have to admit that being a little more willing to go out because I'm not hiding a massive muffin top under the waistline is kind of a good thing. My brother is planning an outing to the Japanese steakhouse, and while I am generally not a fan of sitting at a table with strangers while I eat, I kind of HAVE been craving the food. So I'm going! Aaaagh, I have to bake a cake first, though.

Skewed sleep schedules (back to the land of the living!) means I'm tired and cranky and sore most of the time. WHICH MEANS I AM HITTING THE EXCEDRIN KIND OF HARD. NOT GOOD.

In other news, I'm seriously tempted to trim my bangs. My hair is seriously cute now (WHEN IT'S PUFFY), but my forehead is a little more prominent than I want it to be.

I think I'll go do that.

On the long road to a high again; yesterday I was starting to behave a bit impulsively again, and I think a few people noticed, which is likely why I got the "Ummm." reaction when I disclosed ALL THE STUFF I WANNA DO .

So in order to kind of. Force myself to slow down. Postponing my nefarious plans until next month.

Since the only real food we have in the house is either rice, spaghettios, or stuff I don't like, I've been eating a LOT of okayu lately. The rice cooker now HATES me, and I think I'm even starting to get a little sick of it. Will have to beat my brother over the head to at least make a minor grocery run, especially since we're out of AA batteries and have cannibalized every electronic device in the house in order to have Wiimote and Remote powers.

I had the weirdest dream last night, not because it was outwardly bizarre, but because it was an amalgamation of all the conversations, news reports, and photos I had/looked at.

It involved the Beijing Olympics, a solar eclipse, gymnastics and archery being melded into one event for some reason, a houseful of Jews (They were one of the olympic teams?), flooded roads (in california, for some reason), and the Adam's Mark hotel in Dallas.

I have a lot of bizarre dreams that take place in familiar locations (This one actually had a few "scenes" take place in previous dream-worlds of mine), but never before have I been able to look at a dream I had and pick out every single part as "Oh, that's because I talked about --"

I MADE CONGEE IN THE RICE COOKER AGAIN.

Okay, so I made okayu in the rice cooker again.

"But Sam!" you say. "What's the difference? Congee is okayu is juk!"

YEAH BUT APPARENTLY OKAYU IS REALLY THICK CONGEE.

And oh my god. DID I MENTION IT WAS FILLING. BECAUSE IT IS. And two cups of rice yields like. A million jillion bowls of rice gruel. YES, OLIVER, YOU MAY HAVE SOME MORE.

I have breakfast, lunch, and dinner for days.

OH RIGHT, and this time I did it without the rice cooker ejaculating. THE SECRET IS LESS WATER AT FIRST, GOING THROUGH A COOK CYCLE, STIRRING, ADDING MORE WATER, LATHERING, RINSING, AND REPEATING.

Time for another bowl.

TODAY'S EXPERIMENT: Congee. ...Plain ol' congee, samses style. Which means lots of sugar, because I like my rice sweet.

LESSON 1: Congee is not to be made in the rice cooker by just adding extra water. The end result is my rice cooker ejaculating. (There was a pop, and then a big goopy mess around the vent hole. And on the counter. And the floor. And no, I didn't even fill the cooker that MUCH)

LESSON 2: Next time, ADD MOAR SUGAR.

LESSON 3: Congee is VERY, VERY FILLING.

LESSON 4: I'm not allowed to try to make Congee in the rice cooker again. The ejaculation nearly caused some messy fluid/electrical socket OTP, and I had to abort the mission before the rice became congee instead of "squishy watery rice."

SUMMARY: Congee is rice-cooker semen.

Well. I WAS about to make some silly post about how I decided it was time for my journal to have a change for the cheerier because sometimes the best way to make yourself happy is to force yourself to be happy until you believe it.

And as SOON as I opened up XJournal, the housemate burst out screaming. NIGHT TERROR TIME.

Since I'm already awake, I. Went to his room to try to calm him down, but as soon as I opened the door, he came BARRELING AT ME. This has never happened before.

Yes, he was just trying to escape but. Holy hell. If there are things you do not want running at you, PANICKED, SCREAMING PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO CLUE WHERE THEY ARE AND WHO IS IN FRONT OF THEM should PROBABLY be near the top of the list. Right after the BOMB SQUAD (if you see them running, TRY AND KEEP UP), an elephant, and a hobo who currently thinks that YOU ARE A HAM SANDWICH.

I have learned much from the ordeal. Namely, to either get to the door faster next time or NOT AT ALL, and also that I have a perfect horror movie scream.

And also, that screaming when a panicked screaming person who has no clue where he is at the moment since he's still technically in a dream comes barreling at you? For the record, Does not alleviate the problem.

Gave myself a haircut at 2am with a pair of sewing scissors. It's a little uneven, and it's very very short, but it's kind of cute.

FIRST NEWS FIRST: I received my first photobucket TOS violation for uploading a sketch of a topless woman. Oh, and it got removed from TinyPic, too. I would have uploaded to LJ except for login issues, imageshack except it was being stupid, and well. AT LEAST DA WILL TAKE IT.

I'm having so much fun drawing her, even though the non-nudes will probably worry my relatives because she's not a "pretty" character, and is, in fact, rather scary looking since she has a wide variety of crazy faces and I ONLY GOT INSPIRED TO DRAW HER after hearing "LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR" on a loop.

But she's still fun to draw because it's just so wildly different from my norm. And I got to apply knowledge that I learned in figure drawing class.

SO WHAT DID WE LEARN? While Chao is, indeed, a beautiful cat, his fur coloring is more like a peanut butter cookie than it is a rich golden orange. HE IS JUST SHOOPED.

I am beginning to outgrow my new, comfy jeans. Obviously, my weight has gotten out of hand despite my efforts to the contrary. The lifestyle of a social recluse is not weight-friendly.

Note to self: Vet appointment for DIzzy and Chao at 11am Friday.

"Musou Buddies" because most of them are. OVER HALF of my friendslist has some sort of connection to Dynasty Warriors and/or one of the other Musou series games. And this isn't counting "simply playing with my characters at CFUD", either. They have either PLAYED THE GAME or WATCHED ME PLAY IT.

OKAY SO. All this kitten stuff and I forgot to, you know, blog about it.

We now have two kittens! Dad and I had been wanting them since he was in the hospital, and we finally went out (ON EASTER SUNDAY) to acquire us some cats. After driving all around town, we finally met these two cuties at petsmart.


On the left, we have Discordia (Otherwise known as Dizzy), and on the right, we have Chao.

Believe it or not, they're littermates! You can't really tell in the picture, since Dizzy is a longhaired Tortoiseshell, and Chao is a shorthaired Tabby, but they both have an identical tabby "M" on their foreheads. Dizzy's is pretty well hidden by her Tortie coloring, but if you squint, you can see it.

These two are really just a bucket of adorable. Chao is the more photogenic of the two (and the prettier one, with a sleek coat and beautiful markings), but Dizzy is the more charming cat, seeing as how she plays the hardest, cries the loudest, and CRAVES attention. Chao is a lot more mellow than Dizzy is, but he does purr the loudest. :3

Chao is the one with the tummy trouble, and I've been keeping a very close eye on him and he's doing a lot better today. He's drinking, he's eating, and he's pooping, so it's all good. He's not totally 100% yet (I CAN TELL), but it's an improvement! We still need to get them to the vet for their first checkup and stuff, but now it's not a matter of urgency.

SO YES. THESE ARE OUR NEW CATS. I'm sure Nermal and Sophie would approve of us treating fortunate little kitties as well as we treated them-- just as long as we don't forget them. (And if they were still alive, I would totally be giving them 110% attention because hahaha, they would be so jealous of these kittens.)

ANYWAY, THAT IS THAT.

OKAY keeping a record of this because if we need to see the vet about one of our new kittens having tummy trouble, I WILL NEED TO KEEP THIS IN MIND.

Tuesday evening: First noticed something slightly amiss (teeny bit of blood)
Wednesday: No problems!
Thursday: Kitty barfing and diarrhea; two episodes of the former (timed close together), one of the latter.

Activity is still normal.
