So my last day of work was yesterday! That is, for the summer. I start working again on the 16th or so for 6 hours/week, which is great because it's not too much responsibility. I also moved all my crap from St. Mary's to LaPlata today. That was fun. Not really, but at least I beat the crowds. Now I'm pretty much living at Alex's until I can move in on Sunday/school starts. We didn't end up going to Six Flags today; instead, we're going on Saturday for $17! That doesn't include tax or parking, but I'm still excited. Tomorrow, we're going up to Sykesville to visit Alex's friend and I get to play with his dogs and maybe his camera - I'm pretty stoked. and then we go to the beach on Monday!! :D I think we're going to watch War tonight (something we got from RedBox), but we haven't gotten to it yet since we're playing Soul Calibur IV... Yeah, things are going pretty well. I'm not really looking forward to for school, but whatever. I still need to buy my books, too. :( Oh well, I'm pretty excited about living in LaPlata since I'm right next to the gym and the ORC. Alex and I went climbing on Monday & Tuesday - it was a lot of fun! A little frustrating, but a lot of fun. I'm hoping to get belay certified in a week or two so I don't have to wear a helmet when I climb at the wall xP Plus, then I have a reason to get some nice gear that's not so annoying. Ah...anyway, that's my life so far. Can't really believe that summer's almost over - made lots of new friends through Conferences, made some major decisions in my life, and really got somewhere with Alex...which is good, I guess xP. Don't really know what motivated me to update, but it's cool. Not like any of you guys read this anyway :P humeur actuelle: calm

This weekend was the best weekend I've had in a little while. Alex was here from thursday-today and he brought me flowers - stargazer lilies, a rose and carnations, along with a small kitty plush that has magnetic paws :)
We went to the pool, I spent way too much money on groceries, and we made lots of great food. We also have been watching the olympics all weekend! It's exciting. The opening ceremonies were pretty cool, too. Alex also interviewed to be a trip leader on friday and he pretty much has the job. I'm proud of him :)
All we did yesterday was make food and watch the olympics. It was awesome. Oh yeah, we also exchanged some books (I got House of Leaves, but it turns out Alex had the same copy).
Today we made food and also biked to a nearby lake. That's the most I've ever biked (we went 6ish miles?) aaand it's fun. The only thing I wish we were able to do is go climbing, but the wall isn't open on weekends which sucks.
Few more events to look forward to: -(15-17) last time I'm home for the summer -(18) Alex moves to CP for the semester!! -(20) last day of work -(21) six flags -(24) move in day for me -(25&26) beach!! and then I get to meet people on my floor...I have no idea what they'll be like. (and I'm already looking forward to the spring when I'll be in an apartment...I'm going to miss having a kitchen :( ) Going to start dancing more when school starts, too, esp since I'm helping with DCDI.
This summer's been fun, even though I've been doing nothing but work the past couple months. Now I'm working less than 40 hours this week and next week. Which gives me time to do things I want to, like read and work out!! :) Man, I can't believe summer's almost over...

So I'm still trying to fix my schedule, but if all goes as planned (and Professor Manekin oversubscribes the class), I'll be taking 16 credits next semester: Contemporary Philosophy, Fundamental Philosophy of Judaism, Social & Political Philosophy I, Introduction to French, and an Honors Seminar "Beyond the Hype of Medical Miracles: Stem Cells, Gene Therapy, and Other Cutting-edge Medical Research."
Hopefully, my habits of waking up at 7 or 8 will carry over into next semester, because my schedule for the summer has me working at 8 or 9 a lot this week :)
Spring Semester was great, but I welcome the summer of work and relaxation!

+I went to the bar with my roommate and had a great time dancing, as well as watching her fend off older guys who work there -Alex is backpacking in West Virginia so he wasn't with me :( -So I had to fend off boys who tried to hit on/dance with me -It was actually pretty gross -It was even grosser watching girls put out after a few minutes of dancing with a guy...? +I had the best fun on the stage where there were no guys and Lauren and I were just dancing our butts off towards the front +I only spent $14 -But towards the end, I had a little too much, too fast because we got free shots (which was stupid because I hadn't eaten since seven or so) and I threw up a little -My ears are ringing after being at the bar for three and a half hours, especially since we were near the speakers most of the time +I just spent an hour walking around North Campus having a heart-to-heart with my friend (who is also Alex's roommate) +He informed of this great Beatles cover band (that's legit, they've heard before) who is playing at Fe next Friday and I'm going to try to go (and drag Alex) -I have a lot of work to do tomorrow (today) +Chevy Chase Ballroom's College Night is going 80's tomorrow (tonight)! I'm excited :D humeur actuelle: tired

Haha, I never update this thing, but it's spring break, finally! I stayed in College Park Friday-Saturday for Allison & John's St. Patrick's Day Party - it was a lot of fun, but Alex, Harry, John, and I all got sick at some point. Harry and I managed to clean it all up before John woke up in the morning as a kudos for letting us get sick in his apartment and staying over (still, sticking your hand the both the kitchen sink and the bathroom sink to clean out the vomit is not a good idea. ever.). Then we ate and watched Boondock Saints because John really wanted to watch it (this was actually the first time in a while I really paid attention to it) and it was fun and after that I went home, yay! Only to leave a few hours from now to hang out with Alex (and say bye :[ ) and grab dinner with Laura before WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!! We're spending a day at each park (because really, we only had to buy ONE park ticket each since BAM is awesome! If you want the backstory on that, let me know) aaaand I'm coming back Thursday nightish? It's going to be awesome, despite the fact that I have shitloads of work to do and this Sunday is Easter. Hopefully lots of photos to show when I get back!!! :D humeur actuelle: ecstatic

Today's my last day home, this year! I'm going shopping in DC with Charles tomorrow (despite the fact that I bought 2 dress shirts, cords and a tank top from NY&Co yesterday...) and then promptly helping out with Yuletide Ball! It'll be fun - especially since there will be "free" workshops for us (we'll be filling the less-attended workshops), some free food, and free admission to the New Year's Eve Gala Event! I absolutely cannot wait to watch all the amazing dancers (pro and amateur) Christmas was a lot of fun, it was great being around family, but I'll admit it - it's definitely nice knowing I'll have time away from them again. Things are going pretty well in general, although I'm sure things are going to get complicated soon...Oh well, I'm really excited to see friends and be dancing this weekend! There's also going to be a little party Monday night :D All in all, this has been a great year with lots of new friends, hobbies, and lessons learned. Hope everyone has a wonderful new year!! humeur actuelle: amused
