I was wondering how some of my friends on my F'list were doing since I hadn't heard from them in a while. Turns out, for some reason some of them were disabled. I don't recall doing that.

Dur hur.

On a totally unrelated note....

Ugh... my sinuses hate me. T_T I always seem to get sick in October. Thankfully, no sinus headaches, but my head leaking like a sieve and I'm super-congested. Hopefully it's just allergies and I am not contagious.

Still haven't heard from my mother. I guess she is siding with my dad and doesn't know how to face me. Terrific. If she doesn't show for the Christening, I am washing my hands of them. That would show me that they made their choice. Seriously, wtf?

On a happier note, Grey is getting big. He has already outgrown his socks! He slept from 1AM-7AM. I seriously had to check to make sure he was still breathing when I woke up because he never goes that long without screaming for a bottle. Here's to hoping he decides to make a habit out of it. Now, if only I could get him to sleep before 1.

The election is coming up and I am neither excited about Obama or McCain. Some of you guys might want to slap me, but I really don't like Obama. I will not get into it too much because I am sure it will spark a debate and I am not in the mood to defend myself. I'll just say that I don't agree with his foreign policies and I think there is a lot about him he isn't telling us about his views, conveniently enough. Not that McCain would do better, but I am dead set against Obama, so sue me. :P

Tomorrow we're going apple pickiing with my brothers and their families. I was so excited about it, but now I am not sure I am in any shape to go. This week, I started getting crippling pain in my abdomen when I stand for too long. I am having an ultrasound on Monday to make sure that my uterus didn't come unstitched, which would mean I'd need surgery again. Fabulous, eh?

suck my balls
I ran out of coffee this morning. :( Ever since I've become a mom, I now drink 3-4 cups a day. It's an absolute necessicity! My favorite at the moment is Trader Joe's Smooth & Mellow blend. I had been drinking the decaf version while I had been pregnant and I upgraded to the caffienated stuff last month. Good stuff. I'll have to pick up more tomorrow because I NEED IT!

I'm also thinking that eventually I am going to need to get an actual coffee pot. I am currently using a Keurig single-cup coffee maker, which I love, but it is getting tiring to keep changing the grinds after every cup with the volume I am drinking now. I am going to look for a stovetop one, rather than a plugin one because I have too much crap on my countertop. Anyone know of a good one?

We have a guy fixing our furnace and he keeps setting off the smoke detector and waking up the baby. -_-;

[info]ryoneko recently posted that Domokun is Target's official mascot for Halloween this year. I had to go and see for myself the other night. They had up tons of cutouts of Domo dressed up for Halloween hanging from the ceiling and a HUGE stuffed Domo hanging over the door when you entered the store. I had to exercise a lot of restraint not to get a sling shot to get them down and run for the door. ^^;

In the Halloween aisle they had an endcap of stuffed Domos and Domo-themed candies. Really cute stuff. I did have a stuffed Domo dressed like a pumpkin in my cart, but I had to put it back because I had to buy this for Grey instead.....

While I was playing La Tale, I accidently hit the "dig" button instead of SP potions (which I do a lot) and suddenly the ground opened up and I got swallowed by a behemoth!

Of course, I got my arse handed back to me.

I bought some pretty Saikano-esque wings. *_* Only 25% more until lvl 20. I've been mostly focusing on high level HP healing spells & status healing. I'm not loving the water-based attacks. Maybe at some point I'll dabble with wind spells since I haven't invested that much.

[info]lurkerdrome & [info]ladybrick - sorry I didn't play much last night. I happened to catch you during "awake & cranky" time. ^_^;

froggy seal (disturbing...)
It's been very fall-like lately. The leaves on the trees in my neighborhood are already turning red and it's been rather chilly. I was going to put up my Autumn/Halloween decor, but I haven't had much time. H is off this weekend so I plan on doing it then. Unfortunately, it is going to be stormy Sat/Sun and we had planned to go apple picking. :( Bummer.

Old Navy was having a sale on their Halloween baby clothes and of course I had to bite.

Photobucket

I also picked up another long-sleeved onesie that reads "Daddy's Little Devil" and a pair of black/gray striped pants. They are really cute.

Remind me to never state that Greyson is "cured" of his colic. He has been keeping me up extra late (7am) to make up for it. Ooof. On a positive note, I logged on to La Tale @5AM this morning to play while Greyson was asleep on my shoulder. For some reason I was able to double my XP for 30 minutes. I got up to level 9 with my wizard.

I want warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream... *sniff*

You'd think that since I live on the outskirts of town right across the street from a forest that this wouldn't be new to me.

There goes my scarce free time....
bubble clouds
Greyson had a perfect 24-hours and is still going strong. Instead of sleeping all day, yesterday and today he has been awake from 10AM until the afternoon, taking 15-20 minute cat naps. Last night he went to bed at 12AM, slept until 3AM, ate and stayed up until 5AM (with little or no fussing!) and slept until 7:30. He had another 3-hour sleep after his 7:30 feeding and has been up even since.

For the past 5 weeks, I've come to accept that from 12AM-4AM (aka the Bitching Hour) I will be awake with an unconsolable crying baby. Last night was the first time I didn't, and by the pattern so far of today, I might have a sleeping baby during that time again. *crosses fingers* Today while he has been awake, he's been an absolute pleasure to be around and even playful! Not like him at all. He's even been cooing and making noises he doesn't usually make. I have a happy baby!

Here's to hoping that I soon will no longer have a colicky baby!

sushi cats
I had my first post-partum sushi the other night and it was delish. I had been dying for a spicy tuna hand roll and they didn't dissapoint. I also had my first post-partum triple-shot caramel macchiatto (nonfat,now that I have 20 lbs to shed) which was most needed for the upcoming "night shift". This was my first date w/H since having Greyson. We then went to K-Mart and I picked up some Halloween tablecloths, some bottle nipples and baby socks. Woooooo!

I am counting down the days until November and Animal Crossing City Folk comes out. Is anyone else as excited as I am? I gotta have it. I am itching to play games, so today will be the day I catch up on some as long as the little guy decides to nap. Maybe FFTA2, FFT for PS1, or Chaos Wars. I'm in a turn-based strategy mood. I wish I never sold Tactics Ogre for PS1 before finishing it. I really want to play that. ;_;

*EDIT* I just realised that I have Tales of Symphonia for the GC that I've never played, so I'll give that a go!

Beware the cuddly Bear-Hands-of-dEAth.....

spilly milk ohno!
I think I made a huge mistake changing Greyson's formula.

I started him out on Enfamil Lipil. He drank it fine, but was really gassy after every feeding. He was pooping fine.

After a couple of weeks, I changed him to Enfamil Gentlease. This made him strain to poop daily and never made a BM without "help". He later started puking it up the last 2 days on the formula so I changed his formula at the doctor's request to soy.

I've had him on soy for a week and he's been spitting it up almost every feeding. He hasn't made a BM on his own the entire time.

I think although he was gassy, he did so much better on the original Enfamil Lipil. I'm going to put him back on it and see how he does. Maybe I'll see if H can exchange the Lipils for Good Start to see if that agrees with him. If all else fails, the doc might put him on Allementin or Nutragen (sp?) which is hypoallergenic formula. However, it costs twice as much per can, so we will be paying double what we pay now for formula. -_- That would be full of suck. We'll do what we have to to make him feel better if it comes to the higher cost, but damn. It's so frustrating. I'm running on 2 and a half hours of sleep from last night.

Is anyone else a fan of the 'good ole 2-buck Chuck' (now aka 3- or 4-buck Chuck due to a price increase)? I am now drinking a glass of Charles Shaw Shiraz and I am enjoying it muchly. I forgot how good it was have a glass of wine. I've missed it for the past 10 months. I've also noticed that I've been consuming more since baby. Hmmmmm.

Ahhh... autumn

H brought me home a Cinnabon candle the other day. One whiff, and I was instantly transported to my favorite time of year - the smell of warm cinnamon apples, the brisk night air, leaves everywhere and being able to wear my favorite soft, gray hoodie - ahhh autumn! I can't believe that September is already halfway through and October is upon us!

I am looking forward to taking a trip to Ingalsby Farm in Georgetown to go pick apples and pumpkins. Maybe we'll actually be able to go to the Topsfield Fair this year (we never get to go for whatever reason) or even King Richard's Faire.

I can't wait for my most favorite time of the year. < 3 I am going to go into the basement later on to dig out my Halloween decorations so I can get into it a little early.

I made my first real "meal" (aka something that actually requires more than one ingredient) in months today. I attempted a beef stew and it came out quite good. The only ingredient that I forgot was red wine, but it was still yum.

I also made a banana bread but I think I added too much egg (2 eggs) because it is very dense and a little dry. Next time I will only do the one egg and maybe add more banana. It was still edible, though.

Tomorrow I am making my signature veggie stew so I can eat that for the week. H is working a lot this week and through the weekend, so I will need something I can quickly nuke if I need it.

Of course, I have to add my obligatory photo of the peanut. He has already outgrown some of the nightgowns he wore in the hospital. ;_; He is growing too fast and eating a LOT - he is up to 4 oz every 2.5-3 hours when before he was only eating 2oz. He gets quite nasty if he doesn't get fed immediately when he wants it. I can't make his bottle fast enough. He's been on soy formula for 3 days now, but I don't know if it's working yet.

I have a video version of this HERE. He was actually in a good mood and playing with his toys! YAY!

Dang, this kid is growing so fast. He is 3 weeks old tomorrow.

new photos behind the cut )

Greyson is still crying non-stop. Called the doc today and he said that if the Gentlease formula doesn't work in the next few days, we should try soy formula. If THAT doesn't work, he may be suffering from GERD/acid reflux. :( I guess we'll see.

Is anyone else on my F'list watching ZRock on IFC (Independent Film Channel)? It's a hillarious, raunchy comedy about a rock band trying to make it big while doing gigs for kids' parties on the side. There is usually a token boobie scene every ep, but if you can get past that, it's a great show. :) I need to find fellow Paulie groupies.

IF I HEAR ANOTHER NEWS STORY ABOUT TOM BRADY'S INJURY I AM GOING TO HURT SOMEONE.

Enough already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sending H to pick up a can of Enfamil Gentlease formula on his way home from work today. It was a L O N G night last night with Greyson and his horrible gas pains. He was completely inconsolable and it absolutely broke my heart to see him cry for 4 hours straight. In addition, after every feeding I now should expect to spend 1-2 hours burpring him and calming him down. It's just too much for him/me to take.

H has been playing Metal Gear Solid 2 - The Twin Snakes for the Game Cube this week. It's our first exposure to a MGS game and I think it's really cool. We are both now convinced that we should have named our son Revolver Ocelot. Well, it's still not too late for the nickname. ;)

I also saw Transformers the Movie for the first time last night. I bought the HD-DVD version for H for his birthday this week. It was better than I thought it would be, considering that I didn't expect much from it. Unfortunately, I fell asleep through the last 1/3 of the movie because I was so tired.

Good news is the little Ocelot slept through the night 2 nights in a row from 2AM-6:30AM. Awesome for me because after his 6:30AM feeding, he slept until almost 10AM.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

He was being a real cranky butt this morning. He finally passed out in his rocker seat a little while ago. He will be up in an hour anyway to eat. I hope he's in a better mood because I haven't been able to be interactive with him much lately since he has been so incessantly fussy. I feel so bad to be missing out on this time in his first few weeks of life, but it's been difficult to keep him calm for too long. :( H picked up some Gripe Water at his pharmacy last night, so we are going to give that a try. Supposedly it works miracles for colic. I'm about ready to try anything now.
