I got the time off, I bought my tickets... I'm going home to California at the end of August! Woooo! It'll be for four to five days, but I think that's plenty of time. All I want to do is sit by the pool or go to the beach. Oh, and play with my dog.
And in honor of the movie coming out (and because of liminalliz's post about favorite moments), I've been watching a LOT of X-Files lately. Strangely, they seem to be lots of ridiculously adorable MSR moments.
This show is crack, I love it. GIVE ME MORE CLIPS TO WATCH.

I'm on major sleep deprivation. I didn't sleep at all last night and hardly any the night before. In fact, I haven't had a good night's sleep in almost two weeks now thanks to this weird cold I have.
But man, seeing The Dark Knight at 6 o'clock in the morning was totally worth all of it. And then some. We were seriously contemplating just turning around and seeing it again.
OMG Batman.
Let's see how the rest of this day will be. I'm betting on a 3 o'clock crash with my head on my Wacom tablet.

Dudes, I'm so dead from a nasty head cold. I thought I was doing better yesterday at work, but since I couldn't figure out if I actually slept last night or was hallucinating about building something (why am I always hallucinating building something in bed when I'm sick?), I decided to stay home from workies.
Am most amused that I've had to go back more than a hundred entries on my flist to catch up where I was yesterday. And about 90% of those entries were fix-it fics for the Who finale. Guess fandom's got the same idea I do. Picspam will happen when I get around to it.

Happy Fourth of July to my American friends! I hope you're doing something fun and watching fireworks somewhere! As for me, I'm heading over to a co-worker's party with my girls, weeee!
And to my non-American friends, happy... er... July Fourth/Friday!

I have a Very Important Question:
If fanfiction for the show you work on appeared on the Internet within three days of the show premiering, is this a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

What Difference Does It Make? - The Smiths |
] |
It was sort of lost in the epic amount of squee on Saturday for Who, but I saw WALL•E with the Who Party crowd just before. Fantastic! It may have made Number One for my favorite movie by Pixar yet. That, or it's tied at the top. I rewatched The Incredibles just for kicks last night since I haven't seen it since Senior Year at SCAD (when that's all that was playing in Monty during Final Project). What a great film.
I *love* that there was hardly any dialogue. WALL•E and Eve made noises and would say random words, but you still knew EXACTLY what was going on. It was very obvious that this will be a difficult movie to hold a little kid's attention. I saw a few parents leave with kids because they were, I'm assuming, too bored. I saw the same thing when I saw Finding Nemo a billion years ago. The kids in the audience were fine once the action started, but any sort of dialogue driven emotional scene, they'd be running up and down the aisles.
But yes. I'm so stopping by Toys-R-Us tonight to see if I can get a little WALL•E of my own. Because robots are awesome.

Trailer for "Bolt"
Looks better than what I was imagining. Hamsters in balls = always funny. But OH, do I miss the "American Dog" designs. I was so impressed when I saw all the concept art at Siggraph a billion years ago (okay, it was more like three). I mean, how cute is that?!
And in other news, I'm off to yet another premiere party. This one, we're actually WATCHING the premiere. And at some point this weekend, I'm getting myself to a theater to see Wall-E.
Hi. I like animation.

Tonight is our official premiere party on top of Bossman's roof. I'll have to take pictures and post giant picture post from everything that's been piling up. doven and I went to the Mermaid Parade at Coney Island last weekend that I've been meaning to write up about and post pictures. And tomorrow, just the Three Delivery crew is having our own screening of the actual premiere at someone's apartment. Should be fun! Must see Wall-e as soon as possible, though. ROBOT LOVE.

When you see this post, quote from Doctor Who on your LJ
From Tomb of the Cyberman (that I started watching yesterday):
Two: You look very nice in that dress, Victoria. Victoria: Thank you. Don't you think it's a bit... Two: A bit short? Oh, I shouldn't worry about that. Look at Jamie's! Jamie: Hey, I'll have you know... oh, aye!

1. Go to your desktop and press the 'Print Screen' key (located on the right side of the F12 key). SHIFT + COMMAND + 3 for Mac. 2. Open a graphics source (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V). 3. Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop if you want. You can explain why you prefer such a look or why it is full of icons. Things like that.
