Weird. In the referrers for my real blog was ... my real blog. Aggregated by LJ.

My real blog is not on LJ.
I didn't set this up.

Is this a new thing, grabbing feeds and creating a user like that? Did you do it? Are you one of those two subscribers?

I didn't set it up, but yes, folks can aggregate almost anything as a feed. That's why there are two Tom Tomorrow feeds, and two Wil Wheaton feeds.

I like feeds because they keep me on one site. I don't have to have bookmarks all set up. I'm bad at organization.

This is actually pretty cool. Between my friends list and my reader, there are only a few journals I have to manually load in the browser -- hopefully Blogger's going to get their auto-feed together soon, because that's pretty much everyone else. I can see how useful this could be to folks who like to stick to the LJ.

well, you know... busy busy busy.

Because of our wretched firewall at work, I have no IM or IRC. When I get home, there's no opportunity for using the computer, as everything else is at full tilt. I am planning to spend a day in a web cafe, sometime in 2006, so that i can just loaf on the web all day.

Yeah. That was all me. Remember when you ridiculed me for paying for LJ? Well, this was one of the perks. Only subscribers can put RSS feeds on their friends page (iirc).

I've been watching you from here for quite a while now. I would have assumed that you'd have seen it in your referrers a long time ago. Almost every time I check your blog, it's from a link in your LJ feed.

I hate feed readers. I hate the assumption that I'm going to try to keep up to date with anyone. I like LJ's friends page. I read the latest 20 things. (I also hate blogs that are updated many times per day, which is the only reason Negrophile isn't syndicated here too. It's too much of a flood. I can't read that much. I go there as a destination.)

1. I still mock. Sucker.

2. I added my feed. I see my feed on my friends list. Sucker.

3. I love my reader. It's like a big friggin friends list with almost no images to load and none of that LJ slowass server-down crap. I wish I could syndicate my real friends list so I could grab that in the reader, too, and I'd never visit LJ again except to comment.

4. I don't syndicate Negrophile, either, same reason. I kind of think it works in his favor though, because the feeds I have for newsy sites like that, I generally skim the headline and move on; Negrophile's almost like sitting down with the newspaper -- I pick it up when I'm ready and really read.
