... LOOK, I'M POSTING. =D

Because, really, I don't support the LJ strike. Hate me if you like. What LJ did was a business decision and not that unfounded of one. There wasn't much benefit to a paid account aside from icons over a basic before, so now it encourages getting a paid account. It's their company and they are free to do as they please. Besides, as of yet, no current basic users are affected. If you have a basic account you could go right now and switch to a plus and then SWITCH BACK. It only affects new accounts being made.

Oh, boohoo, your RP LJ might have ads.

Whatever.

Oh, and I won first place out of the 3rd years in the Japanese speech contest.

Yay?

This morning there was a Finger Eleven song on the radio that wasn't Paralyzer. I was amazed. And then after the song I changed stations... and Paralyzer was on. (CHRIST PEOPLE.) Anyway, the song that wasn't Paralyzer, I'll Keep Your Memory Vague makes me think of Abby (and Valentin).

I wish I was at home in bed with my blankies and teddie. ;_;

That aside, life is pretty normal. Had fun yesterday at Katherine's party.

S.K.I.N.
HEY GUYS

THE CONCERT WAS AMAZING. I was seated in the third row right in front of Sugizo. I was close enough to see the details in Gackt's eyes.

I will give a full report when I get the time, which will probably be tonight. I know there are already some reports floating around.

S.K.I.N. )

I wrote that last night high on concert energy and half-asleep. I'm sure it doesn't all make coplete sense.

And everyone, go to SKIN-ONLINE.NET and sign up there. You are all awesome.

Letting Loose
Yes, I'm going to add to the most likely floods of posts about this on everyone's friends pages. However, I have the feeling that I have something a bit different to say about it all.

First of all, I would like to thank LiveJournal. Yes, thank them. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

Boohoo, they deleted your fanfic porn community. Deleted and gave reason. And while deleting they also managed to delete the journals and communities of real pedophiles.

Somehow, I think losing a bit of fanfiction to delete the journal of someone like that is a fair price to pay. Yes, there were fewer 'real (pedo/incest/etc)' journals deleted in comparison to 'fandom' journals.

But, really, people, what did you expect when you listed things like 'incest' in your interests? "It's just fiction!" Yes, I know. But you still realize that you are listing something illegal as an interest to you?

I have my own very personal reasons for being against things like shota and loli. So, perhaps I am biased.

But I also think everyone in fandom OVERREACTED. Yes, LiveJournal deleted around 500 journals. 500 out of 13,000,000. That's .003846% of their journals. Do you realise how small a number that really is? And that they did it for a reason? Not only that, but they are now reinstating all the journals that were wrongfully deleted?

So, in short, grow up fandom. I'm sorry someone took your porn. But I am glad to see some of the real bad guys stopped.

As for the support journals and journals of real survivors? Yes, it is unfortunate that they got caught up in all this. However, frankly, I am surprised that they would be angered about LiveJournal trying to purge the journals and communities of the sort of people who hurt them previously. Maybe I'm crazy.

If this is some detrimental flaw to my character, feel free to let me know. So, yes, here's my use of my first amendment rights.

Oh look, it's public!
I'm really disappointed with humanity some days. I like to believe when you say something to someone in confidence, no matter what it is, it will stay that way. Be it something about a person, place, and plans. Spreading around what someone tells you in confidence is low. Unless it has true reperecussians I don't see a point in causing the 'drama'. People say things, people vent, and life goes on. If something becomes a big deal away from that, fine, then deal with it, but don't instigate problems. That's childish.

At any rate, a few of you need to check your info and note I've de-friended you. Kindly remove me from your friends lists as well. Thank you.

Taking A Stand
File-sharing of entire albums, singles, and DVDs is not only illegal, but also wrong.

I can't help but hope I'm not the only one that feels this way.

It makes me a little sick to my stomach with a feeling of up-most upset every time I see a download for an entire Gackt CD or DVD posted. Once all the Platinum Boxes were posted for download at once. Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong?

Musicians don't make as much money as many people think. Yes, Gackt makes more than you or I (most likely), but he also spends hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars (not yen) on his fans. Every concert tour starts already in debt. Who pays for all the extra costs? Gackt. Look at all the fan club events. Who pays for those? The fan club membership fee and costs for events? Yes, that may help, but I highly doubt that pays for it all. Gackt spends the money he earns right back on his fans.

And how do many of them repay him? By not buying his merchandise, but by instead illegally downloading in places that are supposed to support him.

When he sells rights to his songs to animes for theme songs and appears moonlighting in ads or video games he's called a 'sell out'. Does no one realize he probably makes more from this than he does he album sales?

So, I urge you all. Take a stand against the sharing of official Gackt merchandise online. Buy the official releases. Urge others to do so.

If you are with me, please post this banner in your journal linked back to this post. I've written out the code for you. Just copy and paste. Use my space. Just get the word out.
