1. my hair is sooooooooooooo soft right now. I just switched conditioners back to Pantene Pro-V and subsequently realized that I seriously underrated the value of switching up hair products now and then. It smells so so good and feels so so soft, I wish Adam were here so I could smoother him in it.

2. I spent 7 hrs in the digilab today. whatwasiworkingon?????????????????!!!sswljdfw. no showing yet, hahah. to be honest i've been working on 4 different art projects at once AHH i am going crazy trying to keep up with all of them and being sick and feeling sore all at the same time. :(

Yesterday was All Points West, which meant Radiohead, Metric, Animal Collective, Chromeo and The Virgins all in a row! That was fun.





Neha, Kate and I had our photos taken a few times by street style photographers. I took a nap during Animal Collective because it had the unfortunate coincidence of coinciding with my nap time (6-6:30 pm). Also, I have a small habit of falling asleep to crazy music.

Lately:

* working on a neat art project for a friend of mine who just left for Africa.
* sleeping.
* melting in sunshowers.
* good food, book shops, film screenings.

I miss film so badly it aches. today i watched people watching me out of the corners of their eyes in a coffee shop. sometimes when i am with certain friends strangers tend to stare -- today was one of those days. i did not order coffee. i sat at a table and felt self conscious and left shortly thereafter. i filled out a survey asking me how often i go out a week and what my favorite books were, and where do i go for brunch/lunch on weekends? i filled up the questions with a dozen places and a dozen books and left some things blank.

Updating the last month with pictures instead of blabbering:

I have been sleeping all day and moving in and out of dreams. Life feels lazy and dreamlike, naked and rinsed in spring rain. I wake up to orchids and morning light cascading on my pillow. Last week a man working in a flower shop in the Financial District gave me two pink roses when I went to buy potted orchids for the office and they are sitting and blooming on my kitchen table -- fat, full. I am happy every time I see them.
At night I light my Volcano candle and chill out to Crystal Castles. I fall asleep to a night that drips unceasingly.

It has been a good/bad week.

This picture is about falling in love with the notion of falling in love and then growing up and being disappointed in how phony it exposes itself to be.
It is also about the potted orchid my parents surprised me with on Valentine's Day, the black coffee (no sugar, just milk) I had at breakfast this morning and walking to the Metropolitan Museum through the snow for class last Tuesday.

Also: a scathing indictment of indecipherable poetry, extended metaphors, and a small jab at Tao Lin.

things felt like a dream back then. in the morning when i woke to a pale blooming sky and white verandas frosted with snow i could not be sure whether reality was only an extension of my sleeping state. now, looking back on it, i am sure that the whole thing was a dream, yet a sleepless dream - of shifting form and varying degrees of unreality.
