Some Doctor Who Audios/AudioBooks
Where oh where did I leave off??? So anyway I had some free time (read, car trips) in which I listened to many Doctor Who audios over the past few weeks months: Spoilers within the commentary!

Pest Control )

Assassin in the Limelight )

Grand Theft Cosmos, The Zygon Who Fell To Earth, and The Sisters of the Flame )

Some older ones that I don't think I've talked about yet (or haven't said much about, or just relistened to, or listened to a while ago but still want to talk about):

Bang-Bang-a-Boom )

Nekromantea )

The Fearmonger )

Colditz )

Night Thoughts )

I've listened to some others (Catch-1782, The Nowhere Place, The Fires of Vulcan) that I don't have much to say about. Maybe later.

Next on my list, I've downloaded all six of the Doctor Who: Unbound series, though when they extracted into iTunes some of them looked like a small set of files, so I hope they were all full versions. Oh, and I have the Death Collectors... that one's for my drive back home.

cell phone weirdness
I have a motorola razor and lately it's been working fine except it's decided I have an "Invalid Battery" and it tells me this every once in a while. Now my battery power's running low and I plugged it into the charger, but again, it doens't show any charging progress or anything, it just says, "Invalid Battery". What exactly does this mean and does anyone know how to fix it?

Note to Readers
Hey, those of you out there who know me in real life (friends, aquaintances, family, and I know there's some recent work-related peeps too who came across this journal)-- a request: I'd rather you do not link this alias ([info]eve11) with my real name online. I know this journal's been acting as a catchall for a bit but I just now googled my real name, and the fourth entry down was a link directly to this lj WITH my real name next to it in parentheses; I have no idea where that association came from (ETA: found it, thanks!) So if anyone put my real name and this lj in a profile or friends listing or anything like that, please remove it.

I know it might be rude but I've also gone back and made just about all of my entries prior to 2008 private (and some of my more recent entries as well), even the ones that had comments on them. So if you were browsing and come across a "permission denied" where you didn't before, it's not a personal thing. Pre-2008 on this journal's going dark (except for the fic library, yes, okay, I'm a fandom nerd and I guess I just can't hide it).

Possibly I will also start generally making private any post over a month old, that isn't fic. I'm also going to see about tagging and unlocking my older fannish episode reviews and stuff like that, maybe later.

*sporfle* Doctor Who and the Evil Internets
You know, it's a shame the titles ruin these but they are still pretty freaking hilarious:

Ack!
My Sixathon story has not gained any scope but is turning out to be longer than I'd anticipated. Still, I am making progress! Yes, it was due weeks ago. Par for my life. *sighs*

I need a title, though. I can't think of a good title. ETA: Title, check! Or an ending, for that matter. But in good news, I wrote like 1100 words in the past two days. That is a ridiculous amount, for me at any rate :) Will soon need a beta, hopefully.

Holy shit
CNN article on Ancient Aztec Whistles of Death. I listened to the example track (the link in the text near the bottom of the picture), and I had my headphones on pretty loud, and the first one scared the crap out of me so much it dumped seven tons of adrenaline into my alligator brain and I literally tore my headphones out of my ears. Maybe part of that reaction was surprise and decibels too but... *shudders* I'm going to have to wait a while before going to sleep now...

Doctor Who
Okay, I watched that last night and then our internets went down afterward and I still had LJ up and could SEE everyone's cut-tags with all their juicy discussion and COULD NOT CLICK ON ANY OF THEM! So apparently my brain was racing a bit and though I slept fine, when I woke up randomly this morning it was still like, "Go check the connection! You know you want to talk about Who!" Which is why it is 20 after 6 on a sunday and I'm up and blogging. I apparently have quite a bit to say about this and a strong need to write it all down ;)

Happy Birthday [info]mamoulian and [info]anadart!
I hope you both had a wonderful day!

In other news, I am one section away from having a complete expanded draft of my article! And then I get to try and cut the length down by about 1/3. But it might conceivably be done this week!

Doctor Who-- The Sontaran Stratagem and The Poison Sky
Missed it last week but lucky for me 'twas the 2-parter, so that means I didn't have to wait a week for the conclusion. Reaction under the cut.

I direct your attention to the "Applications of Lies" section, page 21 ("Lies and the Afterlife") in which you can find the article:

"Towards a Frequentist's Approach To Pascal's Wager"

OMG, the methodology section killed me.

Remixes and Fic, oh my!
[info]remixthedrabble authors are going up, and yay, I get to claim my fics! :) Despite not wanting to do [info]remixredux08 because of the fear of writing 1000+ words, I instead wrote 1578 words across five fics for the drabble remix. Which was five times the fun, because I got to think of five funky remix subtitles ;) Five stories, 3 fandoms, and I've been commenting like mad on all the other ones which makes it pretty easy to guess, but anyway, by process of elimination, that leaves us with:

2 Doctor Who:
Imprint (the Storm of the Eye Remix) (300 words) remixing Still Alone by [info]vandonovan. Slash, Eight/Master post-Movie.

Threads (the Backstitch in Time Remix) (578 words) remixing Savile Row by [info]iamsab, which also got remixed in [info]remixredux08 too-- must be something about Sabine's mystery pockets and tailors that makes us all want to fill in the blanks ;) With thanks to [info]astrogirl2 for a quick beta :)

2 Farscape:
A Rough Road Leads to the Stars (the I'll Be in Scotland Afore Ye Remix), (100 words) remixing Untitled by [info]kernezelda. Tyno and Crichton, decades after the Look at the Princess trilogy.

Detente (the Gray, Gold and Green Remix) (500 words in 100-word installments) remixing Something In Common by [info]lady_smith (who totally called me out on this one ;) Good guess, Liza!). Stark and Chiana, post PK-Wars.

1 Firefly:
Bright Shiny Objects (the Snips and Snails Remix), (100 words) remixing A Little Diversion by [info]izhilzha. Zoe and Jayne need to get outta Dodge but quick. (and hey, this is my very first Firefly fic! Yay for remixes!)

-----
And again I will point out the lovely remixes written for me, this time with names attached!

Not So Local Maximum (The Only Constant Remix) by [info]lady_smith remixing Expectation and Maximization -- which when I read it I thought, "I bet that was Liza" and then she was sneaky and was like, "Oh, I can never remember the name of that fic of yours, and oh hey, didn't someone remix that?" Sneaky! But thank you so much for this coda :) I love the imagery-- Rose in a crater in Tunisia, so so far from home, but still connecting with the Doctor through a maths lesson :) More people should connect through maths!

And One for the Road (Gangbusters Remix) by [info]kernezelda who shows us that bureaucracy in the IRS is a galactic phenomenon in her reimagining of There Ain't No Good Chain Gang. For the thousandth time, Ryoda wished the Internal Revenue Service could draw its employees from other than the bottom of the governmental queue. Ah, poor investigator Ryoda. All he wants is to see something other than the four walls of his office and the dull company of his coworkers, and of course he has to run into the Moya crew. Thank you, thank you, Kerne! I have a soft spot for that fic, just for the craziness of having to write "Rygel used as currency", and you kept that same crazy-quirky spirit in the remix :)

----

And hey, did I write two other drabble prompt fics yesterday? Oh, I did, yes, for the fourth drabble challenge in [info]who_otp. In the "More People Should Connect through Maths" vein, as per a request from [info]stunt_muppet, I wrote an unbetaed Tenth Doctor/Charlie Eppes (Numb3rs) ficlet, Complexity Theory. And also, a silly untitled ficlet from the prompt "Martha/Liz Shaw, 'Pass the test tube'" from [info]glinda_penguin. Silly, but fun to write :) Now if only I could make such progress on my paper edits...
