Just came back from Blues Fest and Great Big Sea gig. That was the most docile crowd version of Mari Mac I have ever seen. Will post more later. I've been up for seventeen hours today. I'm a wee bit tired. I better go to bed. I'm getting weird typos. |

I bought some games on Friday. I popped into EB Games and check out the cheap bin. I found .hack//GU: Part One for $24.99. :o :D I also picked up Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (one of the few Zelda games I'm missing) and the Avatar game, both for GBA. Yesterday I was all ready to play them since I had nothing planned and I was still sore from my full week of work (which is going well BTW) of 4 days of 10 hour shifts. It's only after shifting though my other GBA games and looking in the spot where I keep my GBA that I remember, I don't have it right now, shayded_kelly has it. I lent it to her so she could play Kingdom Hearts 1.5. Blah. So I started the Shadow Temple in Ocarine of Time: Master Quest instead.At least it's kinda a new game... of sorts. And it wasn't until much later that I found out that Dofus was down for 28 hour yesterday. Not a good day for gaming I guess. |

Starting my first day of work tomorrow. And I'm getting picked up at twenty to seven in the morning. I thought they put an end to that time five years ago. Hmmmm..... |

I got the job. I am now working in low electrical connections in new buildings and housing; audio, video, security, and the like. Sounds awesome and not retail. I hate retail. I hope to maybe continue this even after I go back to school because I am so low on funds right now, it's not funny. I met with my contact and her sorta boss today for lunch, and they gave me the rundown of what the job was about and little things that I would require, like the shoes, hard hat, dress code and the like. Mike seemed really nice and easy going, so I can see myself really enjoying myself at this and if I recall correctly, the pay is really good too (I'll have to double check on that later, but I didn't want to come out and say "How much is it per hour?" 'cause that always looks bad). I'll be starting next week, though not sure what day (maybe Wednesday or Thursday - Ha! Won't dad like that? He didn't even want me to get the steel-toed shoes). |

I'm heading to a SOAP function in a few minutes because since AC3 is cancelled for this year, SOAP is holding smaller functions through out the year to keep the con-go'ers happy. There's a lot of AC3 activities that are happening today, including the Otaku dating game, improv and artist alley. I'll be watching a friend's table when she's away in the con. I'm also going to try and sell some things. I need the money bad. On another note, it's gotten stupidly hot. It's 30 out now but it feels like 39, or so says my computer. And I believe it since the upstairs is getting hotter and hotter. I even turned on the A/C, though I probably don't need to just yet. Dad keeps it so high anyway that sometimes I forget we have air conditioning. I hope I don't die outside. :o |

I didn't get the job. They really liked my portfolio and were pleased with everything, but for the fact that I'm going back to school in the fall was the biggest fault in the hiring process. They did say, as soon as I was finished school to go see them again, so it wasn't a complete loss. But it is back to searching again, and the summer is getting on. Kinda sucks to be penalized for something like this because I want my college certificate. I think they might have hired me if I had told them that I wouldn't go back to school.... but two years of schooling, one more to go, and not get my certificate saying that I am qualified is very important to some people. It's been what I've been needing since I left Animation seven years ago; I can do things, I just can't prove it with a piece of magical paper. Oh well. It's a future possibility at the very least. And they seemed I wonder if I'll be able to find a job now. I have one more possible job placement possibility, but not sure if it will be enough for work and financial needs. I hate job searches. |

I got an interview this coming Tuesday for a small Graphic Design company and my portfolio isn't ready. Oops. I've been gathering all of my good work that I'm actually proud of but fortunately I've backed up all my work and finding it isn't a problem. It's just the little tweaks that are needed to fix problems. That and I need to track down my font CD. I know I saw it not to long ago.... ¬.¬ Though the job search isn't going to well as a whole. Not getting any call backs, even from a connection I got through a friend of my dad's who said he was completely overwhelmed with work. Too overwhelmed to give me a call I guess to help releave some of the workload. Ugh. Oh well. I also did get an email from Investors Group. What they saw in my resume that said "You should put this person in charge of people's finances!" is beyond me. And for your entertainment, the animator in me leaves you with this: Get a Job! |

Last night, a friend pointed out to me that reboot.com 's countdown was in it's final half hour. So naturally I left the window open and waited (while playing Dofus). I also notified other people who I knew enjoyed the show and we all waited 'til midnight. Countdown Five minutes The countdown reached zero and I tried to get a screen grab of it, but what I got was this: Binomes at Work with five little icons appearing and disappearing at the bottom as if it were loading. Needless to say that everyone who was watching was gravely disappointed. There's something up now, but that reveal still sucked. |
