Valentine's Day: love it or hate it?

Answers (243)

  • Valentine’s Day, this year I’m sad. Not really excited about it. It’s bringing back the pain of the past. Last year, my ex—well, he didn’t wish me a Happy Valentine’s Day—didn’t call or anything. It’s bad enough when my birthday’s not too far away, and he didn’t even call on my birthday either. Obviously, he didn’t want to have anything to do with me. This year, I have the most incredible boyfriend, Sean Keffer. He’s attempting to do whatever he possibly can to make things all better. He’s fully aware that today’s not really a happy day for me, that the pain from 2015 is still too real. All I want is for someone to unconditionally love me—help me get over the pain of what I had to endure nearly two horrible years ago./
  • Никак я к нему не отношусь, я в мае родился!

  • I love it, but I don't always enjoy it.  Holidays (any of them) are as good or bad as you make them or let them be (unless under special circumstances).  If you're a person who doesn't like Valentines Day and doesn't get valentines, who doesn't have a sweetheart, who feels left out or neglected, go out and make Valentines Day nice for someone else.  Maybe you'll find someone else like you, and then there is no reason to hate it anymore, is there?  No one should hate any holiday in which affection or love can be shown between two people.
  • I hate it. That's that.

  • I dont' hate it I am a very romantic person at heart so I like all the mushy and sentimental aspects of the festival. It forces men at least for one day to be attentive , caring and affectionate towards their significant other. But what the festival was orignally created for has largely been lost in commericalism and we are barraged with ads for exclusive chocolates to the point of exasperation. So while the thought is good modern methods are annoying. And I feel love is something you express everyday not on a  day set aside for it on February 14th .
  • I like valentine's day for what it represents but i hate it since i usually am alone on that day. But when you really think about it if i do find my prince charming he shouldn't only prove his love for me in just one day, so valentines day for me should be just an average day for me because my significant has expressed himself in such a way everyday. ^^
  • hmhp.. I hate it tooo!!!>.< first i loved it in Korea but now in Japan there is nobodyyy. MAJOR FAILLL

  • I dont hate it.
But i dont like it either.
Its all nice to be able to wined and dined ect..
but why should it give people an excuse to do so?
I mean, if people truly wanted to do something special for someone they loved, then why cant they just do it?
Anytime, afterall the whole world is celebrating on the same day is it really that special?

You share your life, with the rest of the world, all your life so why appoint another day? If someone loves you then they can show you this anyday/ everyday even if its just by sayin those 3 little words, it doesnt take a world prenound day to do so.

Comment and add me please x x x

  • I hate Valentines Day.  I think maybe it is because I never had a really romantic one.  I am not usually into romance and all that mushy stuff, but I think I would have liked someone taking the time to plan out a romantic getaway, dinner, flowers, candlelight...the whole works.
