What movies being released in the upcoming holiday movie season are you most excited about (if any)? Have you ever gone to a midnight showing on opening day for a very popular movie -- did you enjoy it, or would you rather have just slept in and went to see it the next day? If you could re-release any one movie from the past to the "big screen", what one would you choose and why?

  • I don't really go to the movies much. I am looking forward to the new James Bond film though. I have been in a few midnight screenings but that was a long time ago. The last time I did it was the last Harry Potter movie and I loved it but I don't really feel the need to go right away anymore. I am happy to wait a few days and let the masses get out of the way. If I could release any movie again, It would have to be the Adams Family. The older the better. I really loved the quirkiness of it and it is always fun to what no matter what.
  • Yes to all that stuff a long time ago.. Now I lean toward the real actors and actresses from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. They hold all those wonderful memories for me.. I can tell you what happened, how and when by watching certain movies.. Its a wonderful peaceful feeling.. There were also times because of my job I missed holidays because of emergencies at the airport.. I have a nice Thanksgiving message coming that sums it up...
  • I'd like to see "Lawrence of Arabia" on the big screen - just because I saw it on my tiny telly and was really impressed, so goodness knows what I'd make of those sweeping desert scenes, in the format they were really made for! :-)
  • I kind of want to see that Krampus movie even if it also looks terrible. I like the Christmas-Horror crossover. I've been to midnight premiers of horror movies, those are the only ones I really go to see first thing. That and the fan movies. I saw one or two Harry Potter movies at midnight but the good movies are usually sold out on the first night. I want to see something epic on the big screen like Phantom of the Opera or Lord of the Rings. The musical/score scenes would be amazing.
  • I love the movie A Christmas Story. Brings back so many old childhood memories. The white snow outside and great smell of strong coffee aroma in my house!
  • Star Wars, THG: Mockingjay Pt. 2, still awaiting the CA: Civil War Trailer.
  • Krampus! Since halloween is my holiday season, I had a great time in october, but now I can enjoy spooky for christmas as well! And fuck the rest of the questions.
  • Not sure about what's out this Christmas, although I suspect that the family will take me out to see Star Wars as my birthday present. Not that they want to see it at all ;) The only midnight showing I've ever been to was for X-Men:Days of Future Past and that was more because L wanted to see it as soon as possible. The appeal of midnight showings is beyond me, but that might be because public transport stops at 23:39 round here and we had to walk back. I'd love to see Blade Runner on the big screen.
  • Well, this is an easy one... December 18th, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens. I have been looking forward to this movie since seeing Revenge of the Sith in 2005. I have been waiting and hoping for and expecting this even as GL was telling us it would not happen. I have seen midnight released of movies in the past (many times, actually) and this will be no exception. And, as of now, I do plan on going in costume (assuming I can make the required alterations for size.) I would also like to see Mockingjay Part 2, and Victor Frankenstein, but I feel like if I miss those in the theatres, I'd be okay watching at home. (I haven't seen the previous 3 Hunger Games movies on the big screen, so while it would be nice, it doesn't feel like a necessity.)
