Not This Again

Which song do you hate the most (whether new or old), and wish you never had to hear again? Why do you despise it so much?

  • Its a Small World.
  • Imagine Dragons "Radioactive" and "Bet my Life" God, so horrible. Just bad, bad songs. Then, for whatever ungodly reason, everybody decided they were awesome, and they never stopped playing them. I'll never be free of them.
  • "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. I switch the station when that song comes on. It's creepy when an adult man hits on teenage girls. (Do you hear me, Jared from Subway? Nope, I doubt it.) I can understand why Thicke's wife filed for divorce, especially after the Miley Cyrus train wreck 2 years ago.
  • Anything that was overplayed - I can't bear to listen to Michael jackson's 'Thiller,' Britney Spears' 'Hit me Baby One More Time' or Rhianna's 'Umbrella.' Not so much the songs, but the fact they were on heavy rotation.
  • 1) Any song with too much improvisation. Seriously, just one song in 10 minutes full of forced improvisation will hurt my ears. 2) Broken heart songs with suicidal melody. That kind of of music kills my brain. 3) Koplo songs with annoying lyrics. I like dangdut as a local music genre but not koplo.
  • Santa-clause based Christmas Songs! (I really, really, CAN NOT STAND "Santa Baby," along with 'The Christmas Song/Chestnuts Roasting' . . . . . . . . . . . . . Why do I hate it/them? (Beyond the fact that during the entire month of December only wintery-magic songs are played, there is only so many variations of classic lyrics one can hear before the melody drives one bonkers) ... There is absolutely, positively, no meaning behind the songs beyond encouraging people to buy, buy, buy, and go into debt for a few moments pleasure. . . . . . . . . . . . . . You can take your Santa, Rudolf and Frosty, leaving me with a blissful silent night, or a not-so-overdone version of 'Do You Hear What I Hear' what the Angels are singing.
  • The only song I have ever hated that much is The Who's "Love Ain't For Keeping", which I always skip when I listen to Who's Next. As for why I hate it so much, I couldn't really tell you, except that there's something about the combination of that dang twangy guitar and the lyrics that cheeses me off.
  • Gangnam Style by PSY... I guess everybody will know why.
