What song lyrics would you love to have written, and why?

  • "Music is worthless, unless it can Make a complete stranger Break down and cry" - Frou Frou "The Dumbing Down of Love" I swear to god I listen to that line and my breath catches in my throat. I don't know any other way to explain it. I just got Frou Frou back on my computer since I lost it in a hard drive failure and listen to this song for the first time in a few years and it still hit me in the same way. I think music should be like that....the ability to make someone just stop what they are doing and think. In other news I will do things today...I will.

  • "A Espera", by Ludov.

It resumes my life right now.

Pra que duvidar do meu fim, se o fim virá sem se importar se eu acertei?
  • I'm really into music, so there's a whole lot of lyrics that I would have loved to have written... but two would have to be the following.  They are two of my fave songs... and I can totally relate to how the singer feels and what they are trying to say.

    Nicest Thing - Kate Nash

All I know is that you're so nice
You're the nicest thing I've seen
I wish that we could give it a go
See if we could be something

I wish I was your favourite girl
I wish you thought I was the reason you are in the world
I wish my smile was your favourite kind of smile
I wish the way that I dressed was your favourite kind of style

I wish you couldn't figure me out
But you always wanna know what I was about
I wish you'd hold my hand
    When I was upset
    I wish you'd never forget
The look on my face when we first met

I wish you had a favourite beauty spot
    That you loved secretly
'Cause it was on a hidden bit
    That nobody else could see
Basically, I wish that you loved me
I wish that you needed me
I wish that you knew when I said two sugars,
    Actually I meant three

I wish that without me your heart would break
I wish that without me you'd be spending the rest of your nights awake
I wish that without me you couldn't eat
I wish I was the last thing on your mind before you went to sleep

Look, all I know is that you're the nicest thing I've ever seen
And I wish that we could see if we could be something
Yeah I wish that we could see if we could be something

    My Favourite Book - Stars

I was always late, you never afraid, that we could be falling
All our friends would say, maybe we should wait, but they can't see what's coming
And to this day, when everything breaks, you are the anchor that holds me

And that is why we'll always make it

How I know your face, all the ways you move, you come in, I can read you
    You're my favourite book
All the things you say, the way you shift your eyes
I never knew there was someone, to make me come alive

When the days are long, and the thunder with the storm, can always get me crying
You can make my bed, I'll fall into it, shattered but not lonely
Because I never knew a home, until I found your hands, when I'm weathered
You come to me, you're my best friend

And that is why we'll always make it

How I know your face, all the ways you move, you come in, I can read you
    You're my favourite book
All the things you say, the way you shift your eyes
I never knew there was someone, to make me come alive

    And when we're making love
I'd give up everything up for your touch

How I know your face, all the ways you move, you come in, I can read you
    You're my favourite book
All the things you say, the way you shift your eyes
I never knew there was someone, to make me come alive

When you go to work all the day I wait
For you to come home, recount our time, in our little place

  • There are  a lot of lyrics out there that hit the mark when it comes to relating to them on a personal level. I wish I could have written any of the songs for Secondhand Serenade, just beautiful and meaningful lyrics that can evoke anger, love, and a sense of loss all in the same song.  Write now, I also wish I could have written "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz or any of the Fall Out Boy Songs.  Creativity inspires me and some of these artists are remarkable with how much their songs come off relatable and honest.
  •  There are many song lyrics that I wish I had written. The first of them all would be Mother Superior by Coheed & Cambria.

Here, sleep at the bottom of hell
Your time has come to pick the road
    You walk in this tale.
Turned and as a coward you've learned
    Through sickness and health,
    There's only one,
Now go and bite your tongue.

You'll just say the worst of me,
    With a hope they'll understand.
No, they know you're just a boy.
So grow up and be a man.
Little baby, kicking, you scream and whine
    Victims pay the price eventually
The cost? let's see... your life.

You've got nothing to prove, stay afraid.
Young brother, you've got nothing to prove.

    Your answer is in there,
    Just stare down the barrel.
    Your sincerest apologies,
Won't write you out of this one.
    Tonight, you'll find the right
In the pull of the trigger, now bite.
Oh young fools, don't cry... anymore.

A fear sleeps inside your stomach,
    It swells.
A torn boy alone in need of fix and the pinch that cures the itch.
    For too long,
This little baby has cried on.
For tomorrow we'll sing the words and song
Of a time we're glad is long gone.

You'll just say the worst of me,
    With a hope they'll understand.
No, they know you're just a boy.
So grow up and be that man.
Little baby, kicking, you scream and whine
    Victims pay the price eventually
The cost? let's see... your life.

You've got nothing to prove, stay afraid.
Young brother, you've got nothing to prove.

    Your answer is in there,
    Just stare down the barrel.
    Your sincerest apologies,
Won't write you out of this one.
    Tonight, you'll find the right
In the pull of the trigger, now bite.
    Oh young fools, don't cry...

    Mother superior,
Come catch the rabbit, he runs.
    My how've you been?
You're frightened of leaving this truly gone fishing amalgam,
    Go fetch your gun.

    Your answer is in there,
    Just stare down the barrel.
    Your sincerest apologies,
Won't write you out of this one.
    Tonight, you'll find the right
In the pull of the trigger, now bite.
    Oh young fools, don't cry...

    Not anymore, don't cry boy
    Not anymore, don't cry boy
    Not anymore, don't cry boy
When your sick to the stomach
Just pull out the knife, Oh no.

    Don't cry boy.
    Not anymore, don't cry boy
    Not anymore, don't cry boy
When your sick to the stomach
Just pull out the knife, Oh no.

The song is just amazing and the lyrics give me chills. I love the chorus the best! I wish i had written it because of it's beauty  and possible meanings.

Another I wish I had written would be On A Tuesday In Amsterdam Long Ago by the Counting Crows.

    A picture of Amsterdam
    Bare trees under glass
Framed in the grey and white afternoon light
    Of a winter long passed
    When I was a riser
    To Dublin I'd roam
    She was a bareback rider
    Some miles from home

    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me

    She’s a carnival diver
    Hung in the sky
Cutting through time like a memory
    Strung on a wire
    Now the color of anything
    Fades in the air
She is the film of a book
Of the story of the smell of her hair

    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me

    When everything’s over
    And everything’s clear
    When everyone’s older
    And no one is here
    I try to remember
    A girl on a wire
Tumbling and diving above Steven’s Green
Like a kite in the air

    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Oh come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me yeah
    Come back to me
    Come back to me
    Come back to me

The pain is so obvious in this song. The lyrics give me chills and make me want to sing along. I've felt the emotion in this song, and it speaks to me, not only as an amazing belting song, but on a personal level.

The third song I wish I had written is also by the Counting Crows. It's called Black And Blue.

Fading everything to black and blue
You look a lot like you
Shatter in the blink of an eye
You keep sailing right on through
Every time you say you're learning
You just look a lot like me
    Pale under the blistering sky
    White and red
    Black and blue
You've been waiting a long time
You've been waiting a long time
To fall down on your knees
    Cut your hands
    Cut yourself until you bleed
    Fall asleep next to me
Wait for everyone to go away
    And in a dimly lit
room where you've got nothing to hide
    Say your goodbyes
    Tell yourself we'll read
    a note that says
    I'm sorry everyone
I'm tired of feeling nothing goodbye
    Wash your face
    Dry your eyes
Cause you've been waiting a long time
You've been waiting a long long time
To fall down on your knees
    Cut your hands
    Cut yourself until you bleed
But fall asleep next to me
Have a dream I'm falling down
    On my face
    Scrape my knees
Scrape my hands until they bleed
Cause you're fast asleep next to me
    Next to me [3X]

I wish i had written this song, because again, I have experienced cutting. The song is just a perfect and poetic way of expressing what I have also felt. I love it. It makes me want to cry.

  • The Show Must Go On
or Who Want's to Live Forever by Queen. With as much bad crap I've dealt with in my life, they suit my feelings on life in general.
