First, I wouldn't lie to someone I really care about. Second, there's no such thing as a guy/girl of your dreams. These "perfect" people live in your dreams and stay there. Everyone has flaws. The whole point of love is being able to see past those flaws and love the person for who they truly are. Third, you can "win over" someone. They choose to be with you.
Lying does not get us anywhere, but into more trouble. This includes the person of our dreams. I've never met the guy of my dreams, but if I had to lie to win him over, then he wouldn't be the guy of my dreams. The people we love have to be able to love and accept us for what we are, and if we lie, think about the trouble that will come when they find out. If we lie from the beginning, we'll only be living a lie, which has no fun or meaning. This applies to friends, too. Sooner or later, the truth will reveal itself, and friends need to accept us for who we are.
