Okay guys so here’s the deal, somehow I managed to squeeze in another copybon project in amongst all my other work. Don’t know how I did it, but I did it!
Unlike most of my copybon in the past this one actually contains self-contained stories! What’s that you say? Things that might actually make sense?! YES FOLKS THAT’S RIGHT! THINGS THAT MAKE SENSE!
Also I managed to get two people to join me in my madness this time!
bettinamarie has contributed a cute BL comic and hypnomorphia has contributed an amazing short story!

All the stories featured in the comic are about Kasim and Ephram, the main characters of Grand Scope, a story I hope to turn into a web comic sometime in the near future so you can consider these prologue stories of sorts, or gaiden if you want. Whatever tickles your fancy. I’ve just been itching to draw something in their world for a long time, so I thought it was about time I got off my butt and did so and was lucky enough to get the support of my friends along the way!
(NOTE: While the comic is not a BL comic, the final story in the book has one page of BL elements. Nothing explicit, nothing is shown, but it’s still there. Just putting that out there.)

I can honestly say this is probably my best (printed) work to date sequential-wise, I won’t speak for the other contributors but I’ll say I think their contributions are pretty damn amazing and I’m so flattered they’d turn their talents on my boys!

RE:Play vol 3 is still on track and is scheduled for print just like before this whole hoopla started!

You all helped me realize I wasn't crazy with some of my casting since pretty much everyone I had cast was mentioned at least once and even some people I considered were mentioned as well.
So I wasn't just casting out of fandom XDDD

Here's my list:

Cree- Nana Mizuki/Kari Wahlgreen
A lot of people had Kari as Cree which made me happy because I think as far as English VAs go she's a perfect fit. She won me over when she did Haruko because really, she was awesome as her and IMO that was a hard role to play well in either language.
Someone else said Nana as Cree too, I personally love Nana's singing voice and think it's wasted on pop music a lot of times. She's got a powerful voice but doesnt get to use it to it's fullest extent, I'd love to hear her do rock music for a change :3

Rail- Suwabe Junichi/Steve Blum
Okay this one was the given in English because come on.
Do any of you guys know me?
XDDDD It was...yeah...no question.
More people had Itou Kentarou down for Rail than I thougt would, I actually had considered him but think Suwabe fits a lot better. Somewhere between Atobe and Grimmy would be about right I think.

Char- Ogata Megumi/Wendee Lee
Only Paul guessed Ogata for Char, but that's okay because I think most modern anime fans have no idea who the hell she is. Of all the 'girls who do boy voices' she's the most feminine while still being androgynous to a T. So yeah, Ogata.
As far as her English voice goes I'm not a huge fan of Wendee Lee but I think if she played her Faye voice a little less sexy and a little more spacey it would work well. Char thinks she's the shit and her Faye voice sounds like someone who thinks they're the sexiest thing since sliced bread.
And sliced bread is pretty sexy.

Izsak- Hidenobu Kiuchi/Johnny Yong Bosch
YAY! Some people actually know who Hidenobu Kiuchi is! Thank you tiny but precious Darker Than Black fandom!!! Srsly, the voice he uses for Li (as opposed to Hei) is perrrrfect for Izsak. Soft-spoken and reserved but not shy or stupid, just, soft. I love it!
And...yeah. As sick and tired as I am of hearing Johnny in EVERYTHING, even things he has no right being in *coughcoughyousuckasIchigokthankscoughcough*, he's still the best "nice guy" actor in the English voice acting scene so I couldnt think of anyone better.

Laurent- Paku Romi/Brianne Siddall
This was a given in both languages if you know me. I love female voice actors who play boy parts and these two are my favorites in their respective languages. I really connect the two in my head, like anytime Romi does a voice I think it has to be Brianne in English or it just wont fit. Like poor Hitsugaya, from the moment he showed up in the manga I heard him in Japanese as Romi and English as Brianne. So yeah, all snarky shota get these two :3

Now I need to figure out who guessed the most of these correct X_X Its hard because almost everyone got at least one right!

Okay Im working on the extra pages of RE2 and I started working on the geek stuff, and one of the geek things I'm including is a "cast list" of voices, but I'm stuck on a couple characters!
Some of them are TOTALLY set as certain voice actors/seiyuu in my head, but others...not so much.

So what I want is you guys' input if you can help out. I dont know how many of ya'll that have read the comic know/follow seiyuu and american voice actors but if you do, help a sister out over here and give me your 2-cents!

Cast list:
Cree= Japanese seiyuu/English VA
Rail= Japanese seiyuu/English VA
Izsak= Japanese seiyuu/English VA
Char= Japanese seiyuu/English VA

(Only going the main 4 this volume but you're free to cast for Laurent (shota!vamp-y goth boy) and Niji (boobie-licous black chick) as well if you feel like it)

If you don't know an actor or actress' name saying "The guy that played so and so" would work as well. Im just really curious what you all think!

ALSO, to make it fun, the person who casts the roles closest to what I already have down will get something from me, I dont know what yet, but something. In the mail. So that's incentive to help me out, yes? T^T And hell if you know me at all you can probably guess at least one of the castings just from me being who I am.

Okay so the viewpoints on the two boys isnt the same, but that doesnt matter since the final posters are going to be individual prints and thus, they wont be next to each other.

Sorry there's moire but I had to resize the tones from a larger print size. Also Comicworks doesnt have camo tones so I had to make a makeshift camo by layering two different water tones for Badou's shirt. LOLZ.

I think for the final prints I might just flat color Haine's eyes/glasses and Badou's hair or something. Some spot colors...cause I cant see coloring over these since the inks are the main point.
Blargh.
Dunno if I'm going to tone the final posters or not. I feel like I should since the way Miwa tones is pretty minimal and akin to the way I naturally tone things.

Man, everytime I work in CW for even the littlest amount of time I'm reminded of how much I love and need Cat!!!! SHE'S A WIZARD!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna put it under a cut tho because it ended up being rather long since they kinda have a mind of their own when I'm writing them and can't just answer questions like good little boys and girls.

I know it's kinda tl;dr but if you take the time to read it I think it really gives a lot more about their characters...in it's own way. Pretend it's a side comic that's missing pictures, yeah...that's it.

Anyway if you read RE:Play I thought you might be interested. (This is an unlocked post so anyone can view it since there's no art :3 I even censored the one word that mighta offended delicate people! The curses are all still there tho XD)

Also I realized in typing this that everytime I draw Izsak I see T^T in my head. That's like his default emotion. T^T
He kinda gets kicked around in the post too (when he actually gets a chance to talk)...poor kid.

EDIT: GUYS! I did NOT take the password out. I had a FAKE password in there originally but decided that was too hard. So the FAKE password is gone, the real one is still in there.

I can't always match LJ names to DA names so I wanna know who's who.

I went ahead and made a public comics blog so people who just wanna keep up with my comics, can do so.

There are 500+ of you guys on here, yet out of you, hardly anyone comments or says a peep beyond when I'm offering free sketches. So, if you're on here, and I don't know your user name at all (meaning you never comment), there's a good chance I'm going to be cutting you from the FList in the near future.

I won't be doing the cut till sometime next month (so if you do wanna stay you have a chance to), but I'm tired of having an FList that is about 90% lurkers. I understand a lot of people don't want to comment or are just here to read. That's fine, and I dont want to make people comment when they dont feel like it.
But really, I created this journal to talk with other artists, so if you're just here to lurk...that's really not the point of this LJ~

Which is why I created the other public comics blog!

I keep getting distracted by those twins I posted in my last post so I've been doodling them a lot in between pages...which isnt good for my page rate but fuck it, I dont care. I neeeeeed to draw them for some weird reason.
