Incredibles
A few LJ’ers with incredible talents have been recently published! Here they are, in no particular order.

[info]oletheros has written what looks like an incredible erotic thriller: “Stephanie Doesn’t Answer the Phone Anymore”. His new site is here, and the book can be purchased through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. An excerpt (pdf) is available, too.

[info]shadesong’s great Shayara story is part of the new Shooting Star Comics Anthology #6 and contains art by </a></b></a>[info]m0usegrrl. It can ordered online through Westfield Comics or purchased from any Shooting Star Comics retailer. There is a [info]shayara community and </a></b></a>[info]tyka_cafe and </a></b></a>[info]kirayth are Shayara roleplaying communities. Also, </a></b></a>[info]speaksinsong is a fan community for one of Shayara’s characters: Lyric.

[info]ozarque, also known as Suzette Haden Elgin, is the brilliant author of a number of wonderfully well-worn books on my shelf, including “The Gentle Art of Self Defense at Work” and the Native Tongue Trilogy. Her newest effort, The Science Fiction Poetry Handbook, is being launched this month and can be pre-ordered here. (Just scroll down to the S’s.) A special treat: her short story “We Have Always Spoken Panglish” is up at Sci-Fi.com

[info]deep_bluze (David Niall Wilson of http://www.macabreink.com/) has two books in the horror genre coming out within the next year or so: a novella entitled "My Eyes Are Nailed, But Still I See" and a full novel, “Sins of the Flash” coming out late next year. Both can be preordered now through the above links. (The cover art looks incredible, too.)

[info]cmpriest’s Four and Twenty Blackbirds will be re-released in a revised, expanded edition in September by Tor Books. Two sequels will follow, starting with Wings to the Kingdom in 2006. When links to pre-order are up, I’ll link to ‘em! :)

[info]rm’s new story, The Phone Company is in The Cthulhu Sex Magazine anthology, Horror Between the Sheets. It can also be pre-ordered at Shocklines.com and ProjectPulp.com.

The Great sclerotic_rings has two books that will be coming out later this year: Greasing the Pan: The "Best" of Paul T. Riddell and The Savage Pen of Onan: The "Best" of the "Hell's Half-Acre Herald. I'll post another entry as they near publication date with purchasing info. From Prime Books.

Edit (7/04/05): [info]milestogo13's book New York Minutes sounds fascinating: it's written as the journal of someone who has been transplanted from the South to New York City. "...[with] rants, introspections, sketches, and anecdotes, this book provides a humorous and touching look into the question that has plagued nearly every transplant into the city: can a place like New York ever really feel like home." Some of us who have lived here all our lives ask the same thing. ;-)

Edit (7/19/05): Wonderfully talented author Catherynne M. Valente ([info]yuki_onna) now has three books out, all at the same time. Her post, explaining them all and offering lj-related goodies is here. There’s also [info]cmvalente, a discussion board devoted to her work. The books: Yume No Hon: The Book of Dreams, Apocrypha and Oracles. Her second novel, The Labyrinth is also available. :)

Edit (7/19/05): [info]copperwise has put together a limited edition chapbook: "Wicked Fairy Apologist" with 22 beautiful original poems. She has quite a gift -- the sample on that page is excellent! One of the cool advantages of purchasing a chapbook: every cover has different artwork and colors.

Edit (7/20/05): Mistress Lorelei ([info]mslorelei,)is the author of two fun guides to feminine dominance: The Mistress Manual: The Good Girl's Guide to Female Dominance. and A Charm School For Sissy Maids. :)

The Cthulhu Sex Magazine anthology? :-D That's awesome!!

I'll add it to the post shortly, so people won't have to click on the comments to see. :)

Hehehe, it certainly wins for "least expicable title"

What's weirding me out is that people seem to have actually heard of it.

Thank you. BTW... very old story... I wrote it in like 1998 or something, but new to all of you!

Dare I ask? :)

I just read that right for the first time, originally I thought it said The Cthulhu Sex Machine. That works too, I guess... ;)

See, now I have this mental image of tentacled vibrators in my head. Not good.

I find that icon rather disturbing.

Spidey doing the macarena? (Or whatever it is he's doing?) :-)

Re: OT
he's not doing the same moves as the dancing baby, is he?

and yeah, I don't think that's the macarena. It looks like it's his "coming out of the closet" dance :)or the beginning of a gymnastics floor routine.

It's a horror journal that's sometimes funny, sometimes not, sometimes erotic, sometimes not somewhat in the Lovecraft tradition

And I'm guessing your story is in the 'erotic' category? ;)

No.
[info]zarq wrote:

Well, that's a relief. :) Non-bloody, non-tentacled porn is preferred.

I'm guessin' Tentacle Sex. Eeeevil Tentacle Sex.

I wasn't too far off. From: http://www.cthulhusex.com/sinfo.asp

All submissions to Cthulhu Sex must contain a major thread of at least one of the three themes in the subtitle Blood, Sex and Tentacles. Most of our works are dark in tone, horrific in thought and streaked with eroticism. We are most interested in works that have an entertaining, motivated plot and evoke a charged atmosphere of terror and titillation.
There you go. A whole bunch of sentences I never thought I'd post to my LJ. :)

Well, there's Greasing the Pan: The "Best" of Paul T. Riddell and The Savage Pen of Onan: The "Best" of the "Hell's Half-Acre Herald, both coming out from Prime Books this year. Does that help?

Waitaminute....
Paul T. Riddell. You aren't by any chance the same person who wrote and posted a series of wonderful essays on writing over at Healing Power of Obnoxiousness many moons ago? (I just did a search, but the site's defunct.) The very same person who wrote this essay?!? (Yes, I save everything.)

But of course you are. You must be. It's an incredible pleasure to 'meet' you, again. I love your work.

I'll add notes on these books to my post, above. Please let me know when links to pre-order become available.

It just just dawned on me that I have two people on my list that might fit this list. (Well, ok [info]dargie will probably never let you put her stuff on here.)

But there is [info]darthmollusc! His real name is Warren Layberry, and he's a Canadian author who runs Bad Moon Books, which tries to publish mostly Canadian works but also puts out a number of specialty chapbooks. He's had short stories and poems published in several journals and chapbooks, and he's sending his first baby around to be picked up by a publishing house.

Does that count?
If it does, I'll send him here and ask him to fill in the gaps I missed.

Oh! And [info]kathrynt has been published in a couple different knitting books, the latest of which is called Knit Lit Three (I do believe). She's a kickass writer and knitter and designer who is considering her own book with her partner in crime, [info]emmacrew.

Oh, cool, thanks! I'll put him up later today. :)

Yes, [info]dargie must have seen my request but didn't respond. I don't want to push anyone. :)
