	So kviri, frozencapybara, and I were on our way back from the movie, trying to come up with snarky things to say about it, which was harder than we'd expected as we'd all ended up enjoying it rather more than we'd been expecting to. Someone mentioned that the "nobody can fly a mechanical line" scene was very Millennium Falcon-ish (which I think was quite deliberate - I mean, they had Niobe pull the exact same "gratuitous loop & down the hole!" maneuver that Han does when diving the Falcon into the worm cave in Empire)... ... which caused me to have the sudden realization that Morpheus, in that scene, is essentially playing the role of Chewbacca, right down to his reaction shots when Niobe does particularly ill-advised-seeming things. This proceeded to give us all the mental image of Laurence Fishburne delivering his lines for that sequence in Wookiee. "OK, gimme 60% portside aft." [Morpheus thumps at the thruster control panel in a combination of frustration and mild panic] "HAOOUUWARRGH!! ARK ARK WUUARRGH?!" (For bonus amusement, go back to the original movie and picture Trinity pointing to the hole in the bathroom wall and saying, "Get in there, you big baby! I don't care what you smell.") Another Star Wars reference -

Matrix I, the Neb is looking for a place to hide from hunting sentinels. Morpheous says "There..." blah blah blah... almost line for line what Han says in finding the spot in the asteroid.

Here's another one, but it's not from any of the Matrix movies, but rather Navy SEALs.

This is toward the end of the movie, when they're on the op on Beirut to destroy the stolen Stinger missiles. Charlie Sheen is standing an observation post outside the target building. Some Lebanese freedom fighter comes up behind him and starts babbling. Sheen turns around, plugs him, saying, "It was a boring conversation anyways." Then he keys his radio, stating, "Boss, we're gonna have company."

You have to admit, Captain Roland has pretty good reasons to be pissed off for most of the movie. :)

(I'm now going to be plagued by the image of C-3P0 declaring flatly, "You're out of your goddamned mind.")
