FOR YOU, LJ FRIENDS, A GIFT [thursday december 06 | 08:25pm]
THANK YOU, WAYBACK MACHINE, FOR THIS GEM

I present to you, Ian Gallagher's Website from HIGH SCHOOL....

"the five hippest places in philadelphia

i think you can gather what this is from the title. note: this is just my personal opinion, not the product of a survey or real fact.

5) essene (somewhere on south 4th street)
a whole foods market that rocks my socks off. i wish i could shop there every time i needed food. i recommend the stonyfield farms fat free frozen yogurt.

4) philadelphia java co. (518 s. 4th st.)
the hippest coffee shop around. i don't really drink coffee, but i still love it. it's right up the block from the evil incarnate (starbucks).

3) spaceboyrecords (409 south st.)
ah spaceboy, what can i say about spaceboy? hot albums at cool prices. i can't wait until they have the new cave-in cd. if you're having trouble finding it, it's right next to zipperhead.

2) the first unitarian church (22nd and chesnut)
i think the church should just give the basement to sean agnew. the shows that he puts on there blow me away. we love sean agnew.
1) r5 productions (sean agnew)
okay, so neither is a place, but i <3 r5 productions, therefore i <3 sean agnew. keep it up sean! don't let those scenesters get you down! "

OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN
I love this so much.

"hot albums at cool prices"
also, wtf, why were we so retardedly in love with Sean Agnew??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? THERE WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH QUESTION MARKS AND EXCLAMATION POINTS.

okay! [saturday september 29 | 12:08am]
alright in the million years that I've had an LJ I think I have asked this every year, but whatthefuckever, isn't that part of the Halloween fun? this is a conversation that can only appropriately happen from about mid-September to maybe like that unfortunate day about a week after Halloween that you realize you should have been ___________ and say, "Oh, there's always next year..." except you forget that wonderful idea almost immediately.

so without further ado...

OPERATION HALLOWEEN COSTUME DISCUSSION COMMENCES:

firstly, I got this pair of kind of sweet Doc Marten's boots for free at the Punk Rock Flea Market. they are kind of ridiculous(ly awesome) and I would like to think that I was ballsy enough to wear them normally, but I am kind of a pussy. nonetheless, they call out to from my closet to either be worn or to freaking sell them on ebay already (hello, >$75 just sitting there).

>>> DARIA (kind of played, but still pretty good. I'd be able to find the pieces pretty easy and I could order some big glasses from the cheap glasses site...)

>>> JANE LANE.... (a little better. even easier to achieve, except I'd need to get a bunch of fake piercings
for my ears...)

>>> CORY from Empire Records (Liv Tyler's character (DUH.... DID I HAVE TO WRITE THAT?!) (it'd be an excuse to buy a red bra?)

>>> 1994 Sassy magazine fashion spread

....and that's all I could really think of that could appropriately utilize these shoes.

okay, other ideas that I had which now I think are kind of dumb:

>>> RAIN CLOUD (I have 2347349538745 gray articles of clothing... I would prob just wear them all at once, but like, cuteish)
>>> oh shit! I just realized I could be a HIPPO if I pretty much just wear everything ^^^ but then add ears and a little tail.... hahaha shit.

alright, I guess this is lastly since I said firstly above, here's where you come in, internet!!!!

just wanted to let everyone know that I have perfected my tuna salad recipe.

one can tuna (Trader Joe's Tongol)
some chopped up celery
some chopped up onion
one tablespoon mayo
one half tablespoon wasabi mayo
one tablespoon Trader Joe's olive tapenade
a lot of fresh cracked pepper
a dash of lawry's seasoning salt

serve with Trader Joe's Goddamn Delicious Tuscan Pane, some torilla chips or nothing! Goes amazingly with some sharp cheddar.

yumsville, population me and maybe you if I make it for you, if you want.

[monday september 03 | 06:06pm]

uh, hour long season premiere AND hour long episodes for the next three weeks!? OFFICE PARTIES, anyone?

(note: Office Party will consist of arriving at a predetermined Office-viewing household promptly at 7:45pm. Doors will be locked at 7:55pm. No arriving late. Turn off all cell phones or place them in vibrate mode. Leave cell phones in pockets so as not to create the distracting noise that occurs when a cell phone is vibrating on a hard surface. We all know what I am talking about. Texting is fine, so long as no sounds come out of the phone as each button is pressed. Use T-9, people, it's a lot faster. Talking during the episode will be STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Viewers may only talk during commercial breaks. Subjects of discussion should be limited to what was previously seen in the television program so as not to create distractions. You think I am joking? I only kind of am. And don't even think of changing the channels during commercial breaks. No one is able to time it right and get back to the original channel without missing even a few seconds. Don't kid yourself.)

[saturday august 04 | 11:31am]
so for the past week, I somehow convinced myself that summer was almost over. wishful thinking! man!

summer is just not my time, I guess. everything seems to drag and it's hot and sweaty and I itch, itch, itch. ugh.

at least I have managed to do the few summer activities I do enjoy: park sitting, swimming in pools and oceans, and I really can't think of anything else... I wish there were some good summer jams this summer, but there's like NOTHING. if I hear that effin' "Umbrella ella ella ay ay ay ay" song one more time, I might scream! I thought that "Beautiful Girls" was a contender, but now I am kind of apathetic.

I signed up for an etsy account today. I don't have anything up there yet, but I have a whole slew of stuff to go on in the next week or so! my username is "leahmackindotcom" and I am a little excited. I am also doing a major renovation of my website for the billionth time, but I think I might have it in a way that I will actually like. I don't know why I am such a spaz.
