Thank you. A fearless youngster who stood staring at me and then let me take his picture for nearly a half an hour, while he hunted voles and nosed around everything in sight.

He's gorgeous!
I really want to go run through the tall grasses and play with him. Too bad humans and wildlife don't get to play like that. That's what dreams are for. :)

This was such a young, nice little coyote, I think he may have let you do that :)- unfortunately, i don't think the canids (especially) have a very good opinion of most of their encounters with humans.

I can understand that. I'm pretty wary of us humans too. *laugh*

I've always appreciated the coyotes I've run into in the wild. They always have such a sense of being in command of their environment. This one is just absolutely beautiful!

They are such successful survivors. Did you know that if a coyote pack is shot or poisoned, the remaining members become reproductive at a much younger age, and have larger litters to repopulate? They are definately confident in their environment.
Thanks for your kind comment, and for looking in on my little journal!

I did not know that, but it doesn't surprise me...they are remarkable.

Looking in on your journal is my pleasure and I am grateful for your hospitality :)

I, too, have followed you via Ed's journal. What amazing photos! I love everything about the mountains - the scenery, the natural beauty, the wildlife. You truly have a gift, yllstonewolf! I'd like to add you to my friends list, and continue seeing such beauty through your eyes....or the eye of your camera lens! haha Awesome!!!

Hi Anne! How wonderful to finally get back to LJ and to start things off with your amazing photos. I've missed them. Hey... this will make up for all of Alaska that I didn't see!

Hope all is well with you.
