Okay! I'm finally making a sticky post.

Right now, I'm in Japan. However, because I am LAZY and I don't like sending a lot of e-mails, let alone MASS e-mails, I've decided to set up a Japan blog. You can check it out here:

ON THE OTHER HAND: I'd be able to pick my partners, if I were doing my own business. None of this "randomly assigned" crap that lands me with the laziest bums on the planet (including myself).

Also? "The past is in the past!" doesn't work as an argument when you want to suddenly change something a week before the deadline, after you've had TWO MONTHS to discuss stuff. GRAAR.


Now it's the end of the semester, I'm going home in two weeks, my mom is in Japan with me, and I can't get up the energy to even finish my own part, let alone try to read through everybody else's and fix their writing (two Chinese girls and one Japanese girl on the team, who are all very sweet but have a hard time writing English).


Random: Everytime I notice an LJ name (like so: gearcheim), I check to see if it's mine. :X And then I'm sad when it's not, because I don't really interact enough with my flist anyway. OH WOE.

I was at a doujinshi con yesterday, it was a lot of fun. Some funny moments:

Me: All are of your doujinshi Akira/Keisuke?
Artist looks at me funny, then says: No, they're all Keisuke/Akira.
Me: .........

I went to buy a doujinshi for a minor musical sensation in Japan (minor as in, they'll be gone in a couple of months and actually suck a lot).
Arist: ?? Are you sure? This is for Shuuchishin.
Me: Yes, I know.
Artist: Oh, I see! They're international!
Me: ... No, no they're not. ^^;;;;; *long explanation*

Looking for Lamento doujinshi, I found a crossover of Lamento (NWS) with Yes! PreCure 5! ... I HAD to buy it. :X (My host brother's daughter LOVES PreCure. ^^;; It looks worse than Sailormoon, IMO.)


All in all, I SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY. But when else will I be able to blow a billion and a half dollars on doujinshi? :O

Seriously, I just got caught up on Tsubasa via One Manga, and I still don't understand anything of what's been going on.

Anybody got a cliff notes version of it?


ALSO, CLAMP, you absolutely cannot get me to care about a minor character who was only there for one three chapters and spent most of it repeating the same lines. :/

It's a hilarious write up of Dirge of Cerberus, and beats playing the game, and I was halfway through when they upgraded the forums and now I can't access it anymore. :(

The Valkyrie in Tales of Eternia is frickin' hard. D: I'd be able to take her if it weren't a one-on-one battle though. >_>

- Burned the roof of my mouth on tako yaki. Ouch. D: (But it was so, so worth it.)

- Am sick. Not... not VERY sick, just have random fits of coughing. More ouch.

- Not sure what's up with my knee. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't. Make up your mind, knee!

- Am tired.

- Have been playing Lamento non-stop for the past week. (--> less sleep --> tiredness)

- Decided to slow down on Lamento to catch up on sleep. Played Tales of Eternia instead. (--> less sleep --> tiredness)

- Am apparently a closet (?) shoujo fan, lol.

- ONLY ONE MONTH LEFT IN JAPAN. Literally. :O My flight home is on May 27.

- Gokusen has two very hot jailbait boys in it. Damn. D: And of course right in the opening sequence, I was like "man, they're totally slashy." (GODDAMMIT I want a pretty Japanese boy all for myself.)

Huh. I was wondering how they'd fit all of the Junjou chapters into a 26 episode anime. I mean, I was KIND of hoping they'd change things up a bit so I'd have new material to watch, but I'm not sure it worked well.
( Spoilers if you haven't read the manga, I guess. )

Wow. I was studying for my kanji class this morning, and noticed that this week's vocab list had a bunch of kanji I had JUST learned thanks to a BL game, like 繋がり (tsunagari - connection). Well, I went to class, bla bla.

And now as I'm continuing the game, there's a kanji from the same vocab list. O_o 無我夢中 (mugamuchuu - with fervor/to be absorbed in). WHO SAYS BL CAN'T TEACH YOU THINGS? (Example in class was "無我夢中で逃げた - I escaped with fervor. Example in the BL game is 無我夢中でしがみついた -- He clung to him with fervor. LOL WHICH IS mORE INTERESTING?)

I am, generally, against J-dramas.

But. Oh man.

Zettai Kareshi was the funniest thing I've seen in a while XD

Basically, a young girl, Riiko, with troubles in love is approached by a weirdo asking her if she wants the ideal boyfriend. Depressed about her current situation, she says yes and fills out a questionnaire about what type of guy is the best.

She thinks this will get her some sort of match-making interview. Instead, they deliver a robot boyfriend to her doorstep. And he is the funniest thing ever. "Riiko, I love you. Riiko, you're the best. Riiko, let's have sex."

And dammit, it's not fair, but her OTHER love interest is a really hot guy too, so now I don't know who to cheer for! I mean, ON PRINCIPLE, I am against Robot/Human love, because robots are just programmed and don't have real emotions and etc. etc. (Also mentioned on the show. "I love that about you, Riiko." "You're just saying that because you're programmed to." "Yes.") BUT. This robot is so absolutely SMILEY about everything. IT WARMS MY COLD, BLACK HEART. Plus, he punched some asshole in the face.

I'll definitely keep watching this show. HOMG. XD




.... ARGH WUT it's based on a Yuu Watase manga XD Dammit. Apparently it should be "Absolute boyfriend" in English. (So, maybe she actually made a good series? .... I should probably not read the manga, it'll ruin the show for me.)

So, all in all, not bad for a BL anime, IMO. Moves a bit fast, but that's exactly how the manga is. It's pretty faithful to the manga so far, although I'm hoping there will be some deviations to give us new story to work with XD And I think they did a good job of making Nakamura's art not look like suck (which it really kind of does in the early volumes).

YAAAY I'M HAPPY~~~ I can't wait for the next episode. XD (I think that'll be the "is he just using me as a replacement?" ep, and after that it should be EGOIST~~~~ Unless they're gonna be switching it up more often, in which case, EGOIST NEXT. PLS.)

I dreamt my mom was in Japan (she's coming in May) and on the day of our flight home, I had forgotten to pack my stuff. But in the process of going home, I came across a vampire, and somebody helped me kill her... but I was left with the head (like in Supernatural?). ... Somebody saw us, but I had vamp powers too... and for some reason I took the head with me. D: I hid it in my room here at the homestay, but like five minutes later the police came to search the room. I was panicking, and then I woke up confused about what to do. >_>;;;;;;

Subconscious, what are you trying to tell me?

Summary of cool parts:

-Sugino being bad-ass
-Raikou actually being afraid. (Wait, does this mean Raikou wouldn't actually like Sebastian, if he pisses his pants at a little bit of actual danger? XD )


...... So, when's volume 11 coming out? XD (It looks like the series has one or two more volumes to go, just to clear up some mysterious things and give everybody a happy ending.)

Well, I beat all 135 puzzles available in "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" -- the rest need to be downloaded and without a decent wireless connection that's kind of impossible for me.

But since midterms ended today, I went out and celebrated by buying the SECOND professor Layton game. The catch? IT'S IN JAPANESE. D: The first puzzle was simple enough; it was an actual "rearrange the pieces" type of puzzle so there wasn't a lot of instruction involved.

HOWEVER. Puzzle number 2, which SHOULD BE SIMPLE, given that it's the second puzzle and worth only 15 points anyway... already has me confused. @_@ WHAT WILL I DO? (... I guess... sit down and translate the little instruction blurbs, lol.)
