DO not ignore my veins!
This week has been pretty boring, all things told. I wasn't expecting anything different, to tell you the truth. Today I have to write the last paper of my college career - and hopefully get it mailed - and then clean the house, make dinner, and take a shower. Oof da.

One definite upswing, though, is the weather. I know it's muggy and hot and miserable, but the big thing here is that it's not cold. It was cold until basically the end of May, and so now it's decided to shape up and get warm. We basically skipped spring, and I think we're moving backwards- we had winter for a long time, then a little bit of autumn, and now weatherwise it's summery. Maryland summery, though, which means either a) a drought or b) rain every damn day. Right now it's b.

I went gothing last night with some of the Rocky gang. Victoria came and got me, and then we got changed at Brennan's, went to College Park to meet up with everyone, and promptly got lost in DC. But! We found our way to the club okay, and in we went.

It was loud. Really really. But it was a nice experience. It was also a weird experience, and I'll tell you why.

Five minutes after we got into the club, I was still standing somewhat near the entrance, waiting for the rest of the group to come in. This fellow leans over to me and says, "Redhead, right?" I blinked at him and said, "Um, sort of." He tugged at his hair, which may or may not have been red (it was also dark in this club) and said, "Just expressing solidarity." He introduced himself as Sean, and we talked for awhile. It was pretty bizarre - I don't go out much, and this is only the second time in recorded history that I've been approached by a complete stranger. As approachments go, though, it was pleasant. I got called pretty - in two languages! - and all in all it was refreshing to feel, for awhile at least, like someone worth approaching.

Victoria came over to say hi, and it turns out that this fellow knows her best friend. Randomly, also, the person that Sean was there with knew Aris (another cast member and clubgoer). But that's no surprise; everyone in the world knows Aris. You do, too, admit it. So yes. I saw this guy and this guy at the club, as well as two of my friends from UMBC, who were there with someone who knew Brandy (yet another cast member and clubgoer) in high school. AHHH! My world has shrunk exponentially.

Tonight I'm going to the Rocky show at Visions. It should be fun. Hopefully I won't be in pain; when I got home last night my legs and lower back were a mass of agony. But they feel better now.

Okay, I need to eat something and work on my paper. Egad, I'm sleepy.

Du-whoode ... spend a few months in Milwaukee, and 55 and raining seems like warm welcoming weather.

I'll take hot and muggy over cold and clammy any day.
