I got top marks for my fanfiction. o_O What. But no one here commented on it! ^^ You meanies. :P
Now we're on to filterblogs, and I'm doing... fandom censorship. Apparently I get brownie points if people outside of the class comment on my blog, so I'm sending out a call for you guys to come and have your opinions heard.
Though, to be fair, I'm not that 'into' fandom anymore. Just like you, Jennifer, I still enjoy fannish things, but... I'm no longer immersing myself in the communities and culture.
I love the people I met through fandom, because they are true friends. And that's how I like sharing my passions now. With the people closest to me. Becuase they're my family, and we don't have to worry about drama and people getting angry just because you write a different pairing.
Hm. Yeah. And more and more, my love for Japanese is of the language and the culture, not the anime and manga. I enjoy watching anime, definitely, and I love the games for the Wii and DS.
Just something I've been thinking about.

A/N: This fanfiction was actually much harder to write than I thought it would, because I realised that I had to be very careful I wasn't simply rewriting the scenes. So, I actually banned myself from looking at anything Death Note related while I wrote it. XD Unfortunately, that was a two edged sword, as I haven't read the manga for so long anyway that I can barely remember the second story arc! So. I decided to go with the first story arc only. Also, Misa is not hugely mentioned, nor are any of the side stories. I only wanted to touch on the parts which most showed his influence under the Death Note. Annnyway. I am not that good at writing so please, please, I need all the constructive criticism I can get. ^^ Thank you, and I hope you enjoy it at least a little.
Important!!!: I wanted to incorporate the use of different fonts into the story, because Death Note is a visual piece of work. I thought that as long as I uploaded the story here, the fonts would stay viewable for anyone else, but I checked on another computer and it seems they won't. So. If you don't mind reading it with slightly strange font sizes, don't worry. If you want to see it as I intended, download these three fonts:
