| [ | mood |
| | apathetic | ] | We planned yo go into Chippenham today, so we did.
Walked down into Calne, (about a twenty minute walk) where Matt booked a hair-appointment and then we popped into Sainsbury's to get a drink. Waited about fifteen minutes for the bus, being thoroughly jealous of a girl who wandered up and stood right in front of Matt with the most perfect boobs ever >>
(Tall, athletic-ish girl with sleek hair and rounded arse, and perfectly pert boobs in a low cut top? Felt like slapping her and getting some of those Fat Pills from Dr Who >> They can HAVE my fat, I don't care if it turns into little baby aliens)
Anyway, it's a nice new perspective, seeing the countryside from the top of a bus instead of the back of a car. We have some fucking gorgeous views down here, really.
Chippenham is exactly as I remember it, no change whatsoever >> We headed for the Barclays first, where I played Twenty Questions with the bloke there, just to change my address c.c My fault though, I forgot my ID.
Poddled down to look in the Stationary shop, then had a look in Boots and got Matt some bleach and me a new hairbrush.
Decided to have lunch in the Four Seasons, but just after buying our drinks, we were told the Chef hadn't turned up today >> so we sat and had our drinks (and I read Dexter) before heading out to find lunch.
Planned on getting a couple of Pasties from the pasty shop just down the road, but dammit, we went into the wrong cafe and ended up with crap paninis instead >> We sat and ate our not-actually-panini's-but-really-squashed-baguettes and then saw the Pasty shop NEXT DOOR >>
Next time, we plan to actually get Pasties.
We headed round to Waterstones (but not before I spied the new Acupuncture place and stopped to glare at the photocopies of news articles in the windows 'Forget IVF! Acupuncture gave me my baby!' to which I stood there and muttered about ACTUALLY CITING YOUR SCIENTIFIC SOURCES and OOOHH YEAH, GIVE ALL THE PRAISE TO THE NEEDELS STUCK IN YOUR MERIDIANS, DON'T MENTION THE EXTENSIVE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND EXPENSE GONE TOWARDS YOUR IVF, ooohhh noooo >> Fucking arseholes.)
I really shouldn't be going into Waterstones when I'm broke - I had like five books I wanted to buy in there, but couldn't get even one >> BAH
We left Waterstones and I spied Thorntons XD I dragged Matt in and made him buy me a small selection of Almond and Hazelnut chocolates XD
We then decided to go home - so we poddled slowly back to the bus station.
Thus bus trip home was amusing - we decided to sit upstairs at the back, you know, where the 'cool kids' sit whenever they get on a bus.
It turned out school had just been let out, so I was VERY amused watching the faces of every teenager that climbed the stairs and spied us XD EVERY single face FELL as they saw the back seat was taken up by two twenty-somethings with bags who looked like they were there to stay XD
We ended up with four kids sitting on the right hand half anyway - two of whom were amusingly named Hannah and Matt XD (something which made us both grin)
I don't remember ever being as noisey on the school bus as this lot were c.c Seriously
We got off in Calne and walked up to Sainsbury's for a quick trip to the loo - I then sat and watched as Matt got his hair cut. We then went BACK to Sainsbury's (literally, Sainsbury's is across the road from the hair-dressers) where we bought cat food and cherries c.c
The walk home was about a half hour, because by this time, my stupid shoes had rubbed my ankles raw. I in fact have two bright red spots, one on each inner-ankle, of new skin that is incredibly saw to the touch. I have had to roll my trousers up and take my socks off >>
Other than the ouch, it was all good and I didn't die of asthma or exhaustion once. All is good ^^
----
In other news - I think I'm lonely c.c
The poeople I normally talk to online .. aren't and I still haven't seen anyone down here since moving in.
(Except Bayly, and that was once, when we went up to the White Horse - the second time he came round he brought my little brother + GF and his own little brother and basically they couldn't think of anything to do that didn't involve A: Caving or B: sitting in someones living room doing bollocksa ll - so I refused to go out and preferred to sit at home working, because I A: am in no mood for crawling through random caves and B: am in no mood for sitting in someones livingroom watching everyone else have fun playing Munchkin or whatever it is called...)
Anyway - I reallt fucking want to just get all my friends together and go out somewhere - like Poole, to the beach. Even if it's cold! >>
I think I just need to get away. And be sociable. |

| Micheal Turner |
[Jul. 10th, 2008|07:25 pm] |
Micheal Turner Passes Away at 37
I only just heard, but a great man has passed.
Micheal Turner - of Witch Blade, Fathom and Aspen fame - passed away ten days ago after a long battle with cancer.
Micheal Turner was the man, the artist, who got me into comics in the first place, his art was what inspired me to do it.
I know in the last year or so, I turned away from his work, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a huge inspiration to me, one of my biggest influences.
He was a brilliant artist and a brilliant writer.
He will surely be missed.

| Cherries |
[Jul. 10th, 2008|04:24 pm] |
It came to my attention two days ago, that at the age of 25, I have no memory whatsoever of eating an actual cherry.
So, when Matt and I walked down into town and discovered the Grocers and Matt bought a bag of cherries, I tried one.
It is now decided that I love cherries.
They are so NUMMY.
Also, I can walk all the way down into the middle of Calne and back again and not die. This is improvement!
Matt and I have decided to do so every couple of days and buy cherries to eat on the way back.
Also, Matt can tie knots in his cherry stem with his tongue >> |

| 'Bonekickers' |
[Jul. 8th, 2008|10:48 pm] |
I caught teh first episode of Bonekickers this evening.
Oh MY god, it was the shittest pile of bullcrap I have EVER seen. It very nearly makes Tomb Ra- sorry, Relic Hunter look good.
The science was abominable, the acting was crap, the story was the biggest pile of codswollap I have ever witnessed and the very idea behind the story was about as realistic as finding the damn Tooth Fairies teeth hoard.
I mean, really.
The only good bit was being able to yell 'BIN THERE!' at all the sites they visited, because it's set in Bath - about a half hour from where I live.
What kind of archeologist pulls a wooden relic from the soil?? They very carefully dig all the way around it, sifting the dirt for pieces of it and then gently lift it out!
The program was offensive to me >>
Honestly, the only fun to be had from it, was deriding their crap science and taking the piss out of all the religious crap going on it in.
I reccomend you give this program a miss. |

| Homeopathy: An Essay |
[Jul. 6th, 2008|09:36 pm] |
(I've been working on this for a while. If you can't tell - I hate Homeopathy and all Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. It's actually an essay for my Atheist/Rant blog - but I thought I'd share)
Homeopathy enjoys a rather high rate of popularity in the Western World, despite the fact that the practice is so far entirely unproven, by numerous scientific investigations. In fact, in most cases, when an investigation is undertaken and negative results recorded, the practitioners often fall back on the old complaint that ‘alternative therapies’ should not be investigated using ‘orthodox methods’, because they do not capture the intricacies of the therapy.
Homeopathy supposedly works on the basis of ‘Simila Similibus Curenta’ – or ‘Like Cures Like’ – and was founded on the observations of Homeopathy’s creator, the German Physician Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (10 April 1755 – 2nd July 1843). ( Read more... ) |

| I'M BACK XD |
[Jul. 1st, 2008|11:19 pm] |
We're back and settled in Wiltshire!
We spent a quiet week without telephone/internet access, basically packing and working. Then Mom arrived Friday evening and kicked our asses into high gear to pack quicker XD
Saturday was then also spent packing ALL DAY, a chinese meal for dinner while watching the latest Dr Who and then an early night.
Sunday was then spent getting the boxes, furniture, bags and white goods into the van. Then the drive down - the cats went with mom and me in her car.
Only thing of notable interest during the drive was at the lunch-stop. Mom and I sat in the window at BK and watched as three men literally carressed a silver BMW, as if it were a woman and they were in love with her c.c They were truly scary.
We all arrived in one piece, put the cats (still in their boxes) in my office and closed them in there until all the boxes were emptied from the van and into the garage.
When we finally let the cats out, Moogle and Twisp were all over the place, inspecting, sniffing, looking around - while Spork stayed well back in his box looking terrified c.c I think the car drive traumatised him.
Anyway, our bedroom is all set up and my office is now also in perfect working order - it has a proper desk and everything (there's even room to have my drawing board up!) and loads of shelf space for all my books.
The cats are all settling in nicely - all three skirt tentatively round Oscar (mom and dads cat) who apparently smacked one of them on the head this morning XD Moogle refuses to go anywhere near moms gargoyle on the fire place (it looks a bit like a bulldog with wings) - the first time she saw it, she hissed, fluffed up and ran away XD Now she walks past it with as much distance as she can manage XD it's amusing. The kittens aren't bothered by it in the slightest.
Mostly, it's just bloody brilliant to be back in Wiltshire again - this is home to me and I've missed it.
Bayly popped over this evening and we went out for a few hours - went up to Westbury White Horse and enjoyed the views and did an awful lot of chatting. It's great to see Bayly again after a year XD We plan to go out again thursday, on his day off.
Matt is already looking for jobs and I've started looking into advertising with the town magazine and exhibiting in the town gallery.
I'm already feeling much happier and lighter here. All things are good now. |

| Trying out animating |
[Jun. 17th, 2008|10:03 pm] |
It's only two seconds (28 frames) and it's rough and scratchy, but as a first ever attempt, I'm rather proud of it XD
I'm going to clean it up and add more - for a start, she needs to blink - and I want to pull out and add a little action. So expect more ^^ |

| Getting cut off tomorrow |
[Jun. 12th, 2008|03:09 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | depressed | ] | Just to let everyone know, I just tried to pay the phone bill, but my card was declined.
This means that as of tomorrow - we wont have a phone/internet connection.
Unless of course some miracle happens.
So, I won't be online again until we get to Mom and Dad's at the end of the month - moving date is June 28th.
I will still work on my standing commissions, the one for CG and the one for Rowyne - as well as the one for Mamalucia.
If you need to contact me during the two weeks I'm not online, contact chibibecca.deviantart.com - she has my mobile phone number and will be able to tell me whats going on.
Only do this if it's urgent though, as she's my best friend, not my secretary.
Thanks all. See you later. |

[Jun. 1st, 2008|03:08 pm] |
I think I'm having a crisis of confidence over my art again. Ugh.
I need to get doing traditional art again.
It looks like I'll be doing only commissions and a paid doujin project for a while - so my own work may not get posted for a while. I plan to use my non-commission/doujin time to re-engage with trad art. |

[May. 31st, 2008|05:03 pm] |
I've been attacked by the random pain fairy again.
I'm now so drained, I'm having problems staying awake.
I still don't know what his pain is - but try to imagine all your internal organs, simultaneously deciding to SCREAM at you, wrapping their hate all around your torso from just under your breasts to just above your womb (front and back). And it lasts for about half an hour and nothing makes it stop, however you try to position your body.
I ended up sprawled over the sofa, clenching my fists and occasionally smacking the wall in frustration.
I get completely randomly attacked by this - there are no indications of it before it happens and it happens at different times of the day. It's never happened in concordnce with something I've eaten/drunk. It's like I said, completely fucking random.
The last time it happened, it struck at about 6am and I spent an HOUR in the livingroom trying not to cry. When I saw the doctor he said it sounded like muscle spasms and that I should take pain killers.
I had actually taken Ibuprofn for it, but it didn't work. This time I had taken cocodamol just twenty minuets before the pain hit - so fucking painkillers don't affect it.
Though for the most part, I'm happy that it's so far only happened every few months.
Anyway - it happened earlier and now I'm tired and feeling nauseous. So I'ma go relax for a bit. |

[May. 30th, 2008|12:15 pm] |
We've finally got a moving date set.
On Saturday 28th June - Matt and I (plus 3 cats) will be moving down south and in with my parents.
We have four weeks to pack up the house and throw out the crap c.c
Also - hopefully my computer will be back this sunday.
My tablet is playing up again, but hopefully it will work better on my own computer.
I look forward to using a computer on a desk again x____x
P.S. Becca!
Was that you who left a tin of beans outside my back door? >> Just exactly WHEN did you get to my house? Were you there already when you first texted 'Anyone Home?' or did you arrive about forty mins after that? Because we went home about forty mins later and you weren't there. So Mom and I went to West Park for a walk and Matt apparently went to Deans - where he got the text 'I'm in ASDA' ...
So.. what? Eh? You lost us c.c |
