ACP Upgrades Part 12 (Props)

NEW CELESTIAL-ONLY FUNCTION.
ACP just added a very Lionel-approved function.
Ever thought, gee, it'd be nice to see all of Lionel's props in one place. And easy to browse. And it would rule if I could use the ACP mega-search engine because it works.

Well [info]lionboogy has been very busy after Costume-Con updating his ACE!
And here's the result:
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/display.php?a=40102&t=props
51 Props all in one place ready for you to peruse. and he added a pink loli

They show up on the front page as Props.

We're still working out the kinks of having a Props section but here are the preliminary rules.
1. Celestial users only
2. Props should be displayed by the MAKER. Note: This is a little different than the costume gallery where it focuses on the wearer. This is also designed to prevent redunancy in our database with the wearer and the maker both adding the same prop. The maker will have the most details regarding the construction and is best suited to upload them. Also, if you bought your awesome steel forged katana online, you aren't the maker.
3. For examples of props, just view Lionboogy's gallery. Mostly weapons, but if you have a certain part of a costume you want highlighted, such as Edea's backplate, you can add that but please use some restraint. We don't want the props section abused with little sections of each of your costumes, like Lulu's left hair chopstick #1, Lulu's right chopstick #1, Lulu's left hair chopstick #2, Lulu's right chopstick #2, etc.
4. We may need to ask for a picture of you with your prop to prove that you made it, but usually you'll have your own costume in the gallery with the prop. I hope we don't get any, but please report any imposters or such to us.
5. Please no random "chibi" SD plushies like UFO catcher types. Those aren't considered cosplay props unless the character actually has one in the series. Things are like Hibari's Hibird are ok, but Lockon with a Chibi Tieria plushie is not (as much as you want that to be true).
6. No double dipping your prop into different series when it's the same prop. Don't upload Sora's standard Keyblade into Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2, please just pick one.
7. Any other questions feel free to ask/IM/PM me or [info]genjitsu

Adding a prop is easy!
1. Go to add a costume:
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/tools.php?t=costume&m=new
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/tools.php?t=costume&m=new
2. Input the series and character that your prop is associated with
3. Input the name of the prop itself in variation (Hoverbike, Gatling Guns)
4. Simply change "Category" to PROP, and you're good to go!

I look forward to seeing a bunch of Yoko Guns!
If you're standard and simply must have this function, here's instructions on how to upgrade! http://waynekaa.livejournal.com/421252.html

Yes it's true. I only did Hueco Mundo Ichimaru Gin so I could have this LJ icon so that you not only associate Edgeworth with updating ACP, but now Ichimaru Gin.

http://www.acparadise.com/ace/cons.php
At the top we still have our most popular 10 conventions for 2008 on the left with the top 2 East Coast cons kicking West Coast con attendance.
On the top right is the convention list for the month, and any highlighted cons will easily show you which cons ACP/ACE will be at.
New is the View Schedule right below that, so let's view May 2008
As you can see, May 2008 will be crazy for us, with 3 cons in 4 weeks.
Clicking on Anime Central 2008 will show ACE attendance at the top
But so you don't have to go all over the place for the ACP ones, they're listed right below, kind of like our search engine.

The same goes ACP for http://www.acparadise.com/acp/cons.php?cyid=564
Girls are listed at the top, and all those guys with the cooties and germs are listed at the bottom
Wow. [info]vikki is headed to Fanime, yummy.

If you aren't on the list and you're going to the convention, why follow the instructions here to add yourself!

So on the surface, everything still looks the same, honky dory.
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/series.php

Let's go look up what's going on at the Naruto page
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/series.php?n=320
Since I'm starting off at ACE, recent costume updates for Naruto are at the top for the guys.
Next is your favorite, most popular costumes and most obsessed cosplayers, this is ACE specific.
Then comes the character index.
What you'll see is that it preferentially puts up ACE hits at top, but so you don't have to search again at ACP, ACP hits follow right below. It's swapped for the ACP version of course (change the E to a P)
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/series.php?n=320
At the very bottom is a list of our photos from conventions that you all have so nicely identified

Therefore, ACP/ACE share the same mega series database
Remember, to stalk your favorite series you need only click up at the top
Add to Favorites!

You'll see that there have been some global changes to how photos are displayed.
Let's pay a visit to [info]nightroad
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=12996
She's a very good girl, after her photoshoot with [info]lionboogy here
she sent a picture of Lionel in her Saber outfit http://www.acparadise.com/ace/display.php?c=18105
She updated her ACP!
Let's click on the third picture
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=12996p03
You'll see at the bottom a handy permanent link that you can use to spam the photo, but right above it, you see a specialized photographer credit.
Photographer: Lionel Lum
Clicking on the name will bring you to usagichan!
We only have a drop down list of 30 or so of the most utilized photographers so if it's like "daddy" you'll still need to put that under costume description.

But if you got some [info]lionboogy photos for instance and want to show him some very sexy appreciation, go and ID all your pictures for him! I chatted with him yesterday and he already started looking to see who started doing it :D. He was excited.
So, How to do this? Go into your control panel
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/tools.php
Scroll down to costumes, and click on the
You'll see a drop down menu of commonly used photographers to ID pictures with.

So take some time today and show your photographers some appreciation and ID their photos to them for all your past costumes <3.
(Note, do all your sorting FIRST then ID the pictures after, since sorting wipes out the ID tag)

Alrighty, let's see what has happened to Celestial Accounts with the update.
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?a=14489
Ding. There's a new sort class.
AWARDS.
That's right, we can now view which of Katie's costumes won awards! Of course Katie needs to have listed the award on the costume description for it to show up. Then just click on the costume to find out what award and what con it won at.
Let's click on her Satella.
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=16558
Clicking on a photo will bring up our LIONEL SPECIAL COCKBLOCKER photo viewing script that you all know and love because we all love very sexy Katies.
But now there's a very sexy text link at the bottom of each picture that says "Photo #"
Clicking on this will bring you to a very sexy photo-page that is linkable and you can spam out individual pictures on ACP now, such as this very sexy Yoko Katie one (6 of 9):
http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=17520p6
If you want to be a very sexy genius, all you need to do is add a "p" and the # of the photo next to the costume link, and voila.
And guess what, it still has the LIONEL SPECIAL COCKBLOCKER XD
um, don't ask me what that little )"> is at the bottom of the photo, I think that's a bug that [info]genjitsu forgot to fix.

Oh and look! Sort by Conventions:
Katie's been pretty good about sorting her costumes by convention.
To add conventions to costumes, go into your control panel, scroll down

I trust you guys, if ACE is coming, ACE is coming

ACE is here, and will be here to stay. ACE was released on 4/1 because ACP was released on 1/4. Considering that they're sorta opposites, we chose that. It had the small side effect of being April Fools, so if you were wondering, April Fools at ACP was featuring Lionboogy as Acy's Pick, and then setting up standard accounts with more than 5 costumes with thumbnails of [info]genjitsu all over. Now that April Fools is over, the correct covergirl for ACP is [info]drhikaru while coverguy for ACE is still [info]lionboogy.

First off, I think you all know. ACP is for girls, ACE is for guys. Easy.
Standard Cosplayer Account is what everyone starts off with, free, no cost and has basic amenities.

So lets visit a typical Standard Cosplayer Account page to see what changes we've made for everyone.
http://www.acparadise.com/ace/display.php?a=14503 (if he gets upgraded while this demonstration goes on I'll just pick another example)
Green is the color for Standard accounts. As you see, their format has been upgraded to look a little bit more like Celestials. So now individual costumes can be linked (that wasn't available before) and it displays their number of pictures and comments.
To make the format clean, they have their top row of costumes thumbnailed, while the rest are text link, thus keeping Celestials uber (which all thumbnails).

Since I've already covered a lot today, we'll review the differences between the two accounts tomorrow.
kyouya ponder
Don't you hate it when you post up a costume, then someone is like
"OMG you wore THOSE shoes? YER IN THE JUNGLE BABY, YER GONNA DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEE."

On other cosplay sites, you'd be stuck with that comment or begging a moderator to wipe if off the face of the earth (but not before you got your two licks in)
But here at ACP, you can control what happens with your costume comments before they become visible.
You can
1. Disable costume comments completely
2. Get/Disable costume comment E-mail notifications
3. Screen comments before they actually become visible (and hence delete silly comments before everyone in the world sees them)

For ACP Upgrade Part 1, http://waynekaa.livejournal.com/403672.html
For ACP Upgrade Part 2, http://waynekaa.livejournal.com/403728.html
(all known errors currently resolved)

Celestials still get even more perks! Let's check out Omi Zombie cos I know she likes to uploads tons of photos.
(kinda mebbe possibly not work safe :P)
http://www.acparadise.com/display.php?a=22299
Let's pick her SAXY Black Cat (even more probably sort of not work safe :P)
http://www.acparadise.com/display.php?a=22299&c=15006
If you can stop gawking at her hotness for just one second, you'll see that there is room for 3 rows of 5 pictures each. Hence Celestial photo limits have been increased to 15 (FIFTEEN) from 12 because I like full rows. (Not because[info]mognetcentral wants more pictures of Omi Zombie).

Omi can RE-SORT those 15 pictures anyway she wants, i.e. if she moves a new picture to the #1 position, it will be the one used on her main cosplay page. Now you don't have to pester me to do it manually... [info]huongstar :P

You can leave comments for Omi Zombie at the bottom if your keyboard isn't drowned in saliva.
Now click on one of her pictures for a full size one. Pick one in the middle.
It comes up in the middle of your screen and blacks out the rest of ACP in a stylish TRANSFORMERS-ish manner.
If your mouse rests anywhere on the right half of the picture, you will go to the next one (you don't have to click the arrow). Left half of the picture will take you to the previous. Clicking on the black background will take you back to her ACP page.

Why would a Standard Account cosplayer upgrade to a Celestial Account? NOTE: All you celestial users can ignore the upcoming sales pitch, unless you'd like a refresher course on all your bonuses )

ACP Upgrade Part 1 (Conventions)

So I think everything's stabilized with the beta test, thanks to all of you who reported bugs to be squashed, or broke ACP like [info]nightroad. Hopefully all of you are back safely from DragonCon SacAnime AnimeFest AnimeVegas and others trips from Labor Day weekend.

This is the first wave of improvements to ACP, I'll outline a new function every day this week.
http://www.acparadise.com
On the surface, everything looks the same.

So lets visit a typical Standard Cosplayer Account page to see what changes we've made for everyone.
http://www.acparadise.com/display.php?a=231
Right off the bat, you'll see that the page has been streamlined and loads faster.
The way you can tell they're a Standard cosplayer besides that is the green background and the upgrade link in the middle, should a generous sponsor want to step in and upgrade their account.
Room is available for all costumes to put down costume details, such as why the costume was selected, memorable times, construcion details, etc. And comments, because we all enjoy positive comments about the costumes. Of course photo credits are listed because we all must honor our photographer buddies.

Then you'll see a new little tab for.... CONVENTIONS (thanks for everyone who voted the poll btw)
The majority of you voted for some semblance of a conventions tab and here it is!
http://www.acparadise.com/display.php?a=231&t=con
Here you will find a listing of all conventions the cosplayer has gone and will go to.
For some of you, this will be a long list.
But it's numbered so you will be able to tell right off the bat your convention total. And so will all your friends because it's public. Yes. I've been to 20 million conventions. :D
If you need to bolster your convention profile, then click here on your convention profile in your control panel.
http://www.acparadise.com/tools.php?t=cons
Only upcoming conventions will be listed in your main profile page, and once the convention has past, it will go into your conventions tab.
