This is my exchange with janeorben based off her interest of folk art. Yaya is one of the folk arts found in southeastern Louisiana. It is folk art that tells a story or feelings and is usually painted on a piece of furniture.This yaya card is based off my trip fleeing to Alabama from my home outside of New Orleans and the events later on that directly resulted from that. I really feel that it would have been better it I had made it postcard size.. :/

This is my first two ply yarn done on a top whorl drop spindle.
I call it my wormhole mix. Wool fiber.

I'm really loving how it came out... some of the beads are butterflies and I wrapped them so it looks like the spider has been hard at work.

I made this for stripedpony I'm actually disappointed in it... It could have been better but I couldn't find the right beads.

First dreamcatcher I've made after hurricane katrina. I call her Rita.

I love the top of the tree but hate the bottom and the leaves on the ground.
Eh....sorta how I'm feeling right now.

This is my first art trading card. I drew it in pencil and went over that in sharpie and colored it with marker. I should have left the background blank but I just HAD to color it in... and now you can see all the streaks. pfft.

I'm going to paint the next one.

I really like how it came out. The white beads show up much better than the clear heart ones and I can make them out of fimo.
The fabric in the backdrop is going to be turned into a few happy bags.

As some of you know this is my old journal. I moved all the enteries over to ilea and deleted them from here.

This journal will be for my crafts, art, ideas and how-tos.
