Had WELLINGTON and every son That fought with him, been Dandy Beaus, They ne'er had stopp'd for shell and shot To knock them down and spoil their clothes!
Am I being stupid, or does this verse imply that if the soldiers were "Dandy Beaus" they wouldn't be able to fight in the war because they'd be afraid of messing up their appearance?
