In a word...pwnage. It was awesome. Just exactly what I hoped with the best mix of comedy and action and chinese wuxia fantasy that had me grinning from ear to ear during the whole movie. Just pure summer fun :)

I was sorting out my new book list - I usually cycle through my interests nowadays, and it's been a couple of months since I was in my hot-n-heavy-book-reading phase (too bad I can't keep the heavy book-reading I used to do in my youth, but TV & video games & anime & comics suck the rest of the life out of me now x_x). I'd read some awesome books last go-around and many were in serials and I wanted to pick them up again.

I've completed burned through watching all of Arrested Development now. Last season has been pwned; such a crying shame that the show with such a rapier wit wasn't allowed to continue. I'm dying to know what season four would have held and that Mitch wouldn't reveal it in the commentary. Patooie.

Yay! Although I have a mountain of chores and other tasks that need to be done, I'm so glad it's Christmas time. Today is our lab group's holiday pitchin - I'm bringing a green bean casserole. We'll be watching Arrested Development as I have not watched the show and most of the group-members are rabid (and boy do I mean rabid) fanboys.
I also get to go to a company holiday party this weekend. Free food and free casino games at the Murat Egyptian room. It should be a bucket of fun!
In addition, there is much anime to be watched - including the final volume of Chevalier D'Eon. Wootages.
All in all, while a crappy week and I'm stressed by the amount of chores/work I still have to do, I'm very happy that I will have some fun things today and tomorrow at least :)

Whee. This season for some inexplicable reason (perhaps that the shows are awesome?), I've been sucked into actually watching... network TV. I now have an almost unreal "plate" of shows I'm watching regularly - something I've not had since HS. Usually everything I'm watching is on Scifi, USA, or TNT. But now, thanks to some awesome shows like Chuck and Bionic Woman, I'm actually tuning into the main Three in addition to my usual cable shows.

Ahhh. Went to see Stardust this morning and I'm so very happy. It was all I hoped for - such a wonderful fairy-tale. Fantasy and romance and adventure all in one. De Niro in a tutu. What more can be said about this wonderful movie.
I should also note that there were two trailers for other films I'm terribly interested in now: The Golden Compass (saw the trailer earlier this year but it's so wonderful) and a new one, The Spiderwick Chronicles. Both are based on some YA series. Whee!

*sigh* Seeing the 300 DVD ads has made me a little depressed. I had been hoping for several months now to buy the DVD when it came out this past week and save it until Labor Day to watch with my Dad. I know he would have loved it.

*squee* I finally saw the SDCC video for Avatar: The Last Airbender which was a preview video for Season 3: Book of Fire. Z O M B
Awesomeness. ATLA had already gotten more action/fighting sequences in Book 2 compared to Book 1 and it looks like Book 3 will up the ante even more. Some of the scenes are awesome and I've been enjoying the fact that this series actually changes the character looks showcasing, what they are doing! A Mai/Zuko moment was also featured *blush* Toph didn't showcase that much in the premiere which is understandable given this book's focus. I really can't wait for the new season to start (Sept 21)
