Interruption in broadcast

The dreaded LJ specific entry. I'm going friends only. With the exception of a few entries (that I happen to quite like..) [info]verte is now locked and will mostly stay that way. I'll certainly go back and lock anything I do leave open within a couple of days of writing it. I can't quite explain why I'm suddenly on such a paranoia trip, but because I've generally been writing so much recently I want to be able to actually record something here - the kind of personal stuff I've mostly avoided for so long. Even so it's hard to be as honest as I'd like, but I've realised recently how much I hide from people and would like to at least loosen the barrier, if not break it down completely. I have a few filters I've been using, but while I don't want to exclude anyone who feels they should know this stuff (ego trip a-go-go...) I don't want to bore/disgust any of you, so:

Poll #423644 LJ specific
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: None

What would you like to be able to read?

Everything
82 (97.6%)

Fetish stuff
14 (16.7%)

Book/film/music/theatre/academic rants
14 (16.7%)

Cheerful day-to-day stuff
14 (16.7%)

DOOM! (self-indulgent crap)
15 (17.9%)

Alex should write more about:

I'm quite happy to see everything; if there's anything that I might not always want to read it would be the fetish-related items, but it would depend on mood. (Personally, I happen to be very vanilla, or rather would be if I hadn't been celibate for quite a long while.) If I'm not in the mood, I'm quite capable of using a scrollbar, though :-)

If you'd prefer just to leave me out of that filter, that would be OK as well, but I do find it interesting to find out more about my friends, and hopefully better to understand them.

I think that's the reason the vast majority of people want to read the stuff, not because of a personal interest in fetish (though that sounds ego-tastic, doesn't it? It's not meant to). Most of what I write on that filter generally goes in an LJ-cut and if not, take note of my S&M icons!

Nyyya. I can't believe I'm reduced to this!! - I don't think I'll be able to comment on your privatised journal without having an account, so you'll just have to add my new one /plundered. I haven't put up my entries yet, but will do soon. (I'm at UCL at the moment - still got my internet and library access ... yessss).

I added. Hurrah! If you get cold feet you could always indulge in the odd private entry? Nyaahh to you. x

I find it so interesting and such a pleasure to read your LJ that I am tempted to start to write things in my own so that I don't feel so guilty about the lack of reciprocation (or "reciprocity", perhaps? Oh God, I am an ignorant foreigner again today ...).

You needn't feel guilty at all, but suffice to say I would LOVE to read anything you do decide to write... x

As I alluded to in my post (and as I make very clear on the "information" page of my own LJ) I am Russian and not English. This means (among other things) that occasionally I am not quite sure of the correct form of a word to use. Since Alexandra seems to tolerate it, I did not expect such blatant hostility (even in the form of "Blehh") from other readers of her Journal. I am extremely disappointed.

Oops. Sorry.

I pride myself on knowing one language well rather than two, which immediately makes me in awe of you, but consequently I tend to make fun of people I'm in awe of. No reason, usually. But I'm sorry if I came off hostile. I didn't mean to.

Even though I don't comment much, I do read everything.

I can't follow lj all the time because of the mere time-consume, but I am interested in reading what you want to post (although I don't comment often). Post what you feel comfortable with. I think you are quite brave and often post very personal entries. If people don't want to read it, noone forces them. I'm personally a lot more secretive, and have never been entirely comfortable with revealing a lot about myself on here. Particular interest would be: the Book/film/music/theatre/academic rants.

Alex, can I be your friend? :)
I enjoy your entries and have been sneakily reading them for a while now. I think one of your goldfish died and that was the glue that got us together. *muah*

Shaz x

Consider yourself added.

ps. Is Renee OK? She was meant to meet us yesterday and never showed up - her phone is unanswering.

I have found out! But I think it's important she tells you herself. She will be in touch.

p.s. Add me already :P

Hi. Paul keeps telling me how nice you are and you seem to have a lot of people I know on your friendslist so I'm adding you if you don't mind.

Sure. I'll add you back. :)

I don't know about NICE and always thought I might come under the heading of 'Ross' EFIL ex', so that's really quite lovely to know. Fill in the poll and let me know which filters you want to be on?
