Stream of Life

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

heard something on NPR that GM is considering discontinuing the hummer in light of the drastic drops in SUV and large truck sales due to high gas prices.

im assuming he will grow out of it, but currently my 3.5yo has been saying things like "marcus is a bad baby." or putting up his fists or making gun fingers when i tell him no.

do i just ignore it?  i try not to over-react (i do lose it sometimes when ive asked him 50times not to do something and then he gives my the stink eye, points his "gun " at me and says "you go to your room, mama") but is there anything else i can do?

and in a similar vein, what do you do to remain patient when your kid is doing things that arent neccisarily wrong or bad but just annoying?  again with my 3.6yo, he will just bob and weave his head around like stevie wonder - usually that's his "im not listening"gesture.  usually i would just leave the room, but then he wont do what it is that needs to be done - like finishing his breakfast or cleaning up his mess.

ive been having the same dream lately that i have a big paper due and i havent even started it and i keep thinking it would be better if i just play dumb and act like i didnt know it was due rather than schlock something together at the last moment.

but i guess thats better than dinosaur/apocalyptic dreams i usually have.

and then there was the one were i escaped from a serial killer's house or the one where someone broke into our house.

and jeremy won a playstation 3 off ebay - it's the 80GB they dont sell anymore and comes with 2 games and it's coming from canada so we did get something of a deal. he's been wanting one ever since karson got rockband for christmas. i told him we should talk to pipa and buy it from karson when he gets bored of it and wants the next new shiny piece of crap. i also wanna talk to her about all the starwars legos he got for his birthday a few years ago. i know i lucien would like them.

i dont know if  the story is hitting national news (it's a 30sec blurb here in texas) but there was another college shooting at northern illinois university.  my cousin goes there.  he's ok though.

whenever i see this picture i always think "what the hell does ron jeremy have to do with 9/11?"

 my mom used to make tuna melts when i was a kid and lately ive been on a big comfort food kick.  i used to just eye-ball this recipe but i finally quantified it.

prep time: 48 hours (dont let this scare you) +30 mins

i remember when ani announced she was pregnant, i was roughly 4 weeks behind her.  from RBR website:

yeah.  so happy.  but now ive got to go because jeremy and i are watching monsters, inc.

so ive been thinking a lot about people i knew in college/high school. i should really just email jarmanese to see if she replies as googling hasnt helped. chris still hasnt emailed me back from christmas but i still have his number. should just call him.

then i check my profile to see if anyone new has recently added me to their friends list. and theres a new person. and i think it's my best friend from high school - and i was a shitty friend for basicly loosing all contact with while at college.

my reasons for thinking it's her:

they say their name is angela.
the listed birthday is right.
their listed location is chicago (close enough and for all i know she moved there after school.)
the journal title is a tori lyric.

im the only friend currently and other than that, the journal is bare. but i sent this person an email and friended them.

im leaving this post public and, angela, if it's you, oh god ive been thinking of you.

im giddy as fuck because the hight temperature for the week is only 96!  it's only supposed to hit 90 today and actually thought it might be "too cool to swim."
