This is not a melancholic redemptionistic fanmix - this is a fanmix about the dark mind of a psycho serialkiller.Dexter music )

Wow, sometimes the universe really conspires against you.

This weekend my mother and my aunt came to visit. Their flight was several hours late, and their booking was mysteriously canceled when they were about to check in. The bad luck continued when I discovered yesterday that I had gotten infected with "vinterkräksjukan" - the stomach flu (sort of). Great timing. So I puked and puked, but it didn't end there. This morning my aunt woke up with huge rashes all over her body and had to go to the emergency room due to an allergic reaction to penicillin. Unfortunately vinterkräksjukan is really infectious, so chances are great that they both have caught it while visiting me. With our luck they probably get ill on the plane home.

Last night I went to a seminar with Lloyd Kaufman! I also talked him and he signed my DVD copy of "Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town"! Not Impressed? Well, obviously you're not a splatter movie fan. Lloyd Kaufman is a director and the CEO of Troma - a company that produces and markets gory b-movies. The seminar was arranged by the queer bookstore Hallongrottan here in Stockholm. So what did we learn? Well, apparently brain substance and boobs are metapores for all kinds of things! Really liked his ideas on the freak cinema being on the side of the freaks. Good freak cinema at least.

He also talked about the upcoming Troma release "Poultrygeist": "When Arbie's girlfriend turns out to be a lesbian, he decides not to go to college but to work at the American Chicken Bunker where she always protests. One thing, the American Chicken Bunker was built on an Ancient Indian Burial Ground and on Toxic Waste. What will Arbie do when the mutated toxic spirits of the Indians enter the dead carcass of the Chickens? It's POULTRYGEIST! ATTACK OF THE CHICKEN ZOMBIES!"

I'm SO gonna buy that movie the second it's out!

Lloyd accepting a anal squirt sex toy as thanks for the seminar.

I've caught a cold just in time for new year's and spent the day at home, having a Dexter marathon. Just wanted to let you guys know: watching eight hours of serial killer TV on a fever isn't an entirely great idea.

Brian & Justin - Love
Found another great video at the TED website. In this one the psychology professor Dan Gilbert talks about happiness. Obvious but important stuff. He talks about how happiness is something you create in your mind, not primarily something that comes as a result of getting what you think you want. Watch it here.

Leach Sex and Christmas food.

Found this at the grocery store today (jul=Christmas):

Christmas falafel? Huh?

And now for something completely different...
Tonight I had the most fucked-up dream ever. I dreamed that my ex husband's sister was a virgin and that her boyfriend wanted me to help initiating her to sex. Unfortunately it didn't just end with a threesome - it turned out that the boyfriend had a leach fetish, so we put leaches all over our naked bodies during sex. Seriously - WTF? As if this wasn't bad enough I gave the guy the worst blow job ever, and managed to scrape a big flesh wound across his dick, bad enough to require stitches.

Why God, why?!!!

MAN, shopping sucks when you're fat. Tried to find a new sweater today, and every piece of clothing is either one-colored (they're ugly anyway, they just need something basic to cover up with) or some variation of ponchos with large flowers or other hideous patterns (for when the fatsos want to feel pointlessly dressed up). I complained about this to a friend, and he brought up the reference to the Simpson episode where Homer gets excessively fat and only can wear muumuus. Note to self: must lose weight faster.

I love this clip, especially how he illuminates how the human tendency to look for patterns supports superstition and religious bias.

Merry Christmas!

I'm leaving for my home town today. I'm off to celebrate Christmas with my ex husband and his family, which is oddly enough the holiday alternative that ensues the least amount of drama and weirdness. Hopefully I won't "go Norén*" as a fellow Swedish blogger expressed it, but with the annual awkward Christmas day dinner with my relatives (can't shed the compulsive image of suddenly deciding to come out of the closet in the middle of dessert) and visiting my mom's house tomorrow (possible repeat of last year's massive tension following my decision to celebrate Christmas Eve with my ex's family even though we divorced earlier that year), who knows?

I wish you all a happy holiday with a low Norén-factor! Merry Christmas!

Tonight's activities: bought lesbian books and listened to a recital of queer poetry by the "super dyke".

Oh, and the resident Santa gave me a package. ...no, that's not some kind of a dirty metaphor, but since Santa is a hot Troma-loving chick, I wouldn't mind if it was.

Awkward Realization

Today me and my aunt realized that neither of us knew how to correctly spell my mothers first name. Awkward. The weird part, though, was that when I checked her work email, her name was spelled differently in the address than in the email signature. I also looked at two different address web sites, and both spellings were represented. And these sites get their information from official records. Weird...
