Question to the ether.
What makes you do whatever you're passionate to do? Writing, calculating, painting, programming, etc. What compels you? Where do you get your drive, your ambition, your motivation from?
I've had an unsettling experience today and I am again confronted with the fact that I am displeased with where I am, and why I feel hopeless in pursuing something that actually makes me feel more fulfilled.
Angst. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I have been roaming the United States for a while now, by car and bus and train. Mostly I have been taking photos of statues, I think this is a perfectly reasonable thing for anyone to do on vacation, and now I have an image catalog of stoic, bearded iron men at my disposal, which is important. On the train I dozed and woke up as we passed through Harper's Ferry and I took a photo of a sign that said 'Harper's Ferry' and it was very exciting, let me tell you.
Now I have bid goodbye to the Freedom States and made my way to my relative's in Windsor Ontario. Windsor, if you did not know, is home to the Paul Martin Building. Surprised to see anything called 'The Paul Martin Building' in earnest, we figured that for anyone to name such an imposing edifice after that man he'd have to have been born here. As it turns out, that is correct.
You know I never put links up when I do guest comics, but I have been doing them! Have you seen these?

Now I must go as my cousin Kate is anxious to put on the movie Bambi and there is a crisis as to the location of the remote control. Kate is two and to differentiate who is being addressed she is called 'Baby Kate' though sometimes still I am extremely confused when someone says my name and the topic that follows is poop and the complexities of learning how to do it like a big girl.

Today! Today is the day I tell you guys that next week I will be in AUSTIN, TEXAS for the 24 hour comic challenge! SEEMS THAT ONE Austin Books will be hosting a challenge spot at a small house somewhere??? In Austin??? A place called Conjectured! I think I'm gonna go and most likely be drawing comics all day there. yeah, so if you live in austin, or around or anything, please come on by ! I will be there! I think I already said that.

I kinda like being back in a state where my licence plate matches everyone elses and I know how to get everywhere again. But I won't be here long.
I finally caught up with the most recent season of heroes, and I don't know how I feel about it. I know it's supposed to be comic-booky but the plot twists feel really forced, and I'm not thrilled with it. Oh well, it's still fun I guess. I love DVR-ing it to get through the commercials.

Successful, punctual completion of four weeks and nine pages of comics. Unsuccessful balancing of other life elements. Reworking schedule a little so I can have a life outside of work or drawing.

1. shoes- I can't stop buying different styles, then wear one pair over and over.
2. checking and double checking my blind spot when driving- although that may be a compulsion rather than an addiction
3. reality television- especially shows dealing with fashion like project runway, antm, or what not to wear
4. coffee- or caffine. I get a bad headache when I don't drink it, so I guess it's now a physical addiction
5. perfectionism, which probably should be listed first. i have a need to be pleasing to everyone, and perfect at everything. It causes distress, especially since i can't reasonably obtain that.

Something adventurous I made! Stuffed collard greens! Except I cheated and used jar sauce because I already had it. It was tasty.

Some mysterious bitter leafy green thing that may or may not have been callaloo greens
Various squashes
Beets
Parsnips (except I cheated and just turned them into broth)
Tonight I am making squashy pasta, except cutting the butter with broth because SO MUCH BUTTER. I'll let you know how it goes. In the meantime Rob's butt will be scratched.

Cleaned a lot today. Over 2 hours of cleaning. Then I felt really tired. So I lay down and must have caught a quick nap. But from cleaning, now all sniffly from the dust. Yucky, I hate dust, makes me sneeze, eyes water and my head feels heavy. Stupid allergies.
But tomorrow there will be games, and most likely lots of them too for the entire weekend, and um... people.
So at least that's something.

I haven't had too many silly things happening in my life. Though the live show with Steve and Matt has been a ton of fun. 8pm EST on weeknights. Come check it yo.
I sorta kinda have bangs now. I had them growing up and loathed them and decided the grow them out in high school. The problem is that my hair kind of naturally falls in my face, so having nothing to frame my face looks funny. I actually got inspired by this Japanese hairstyle book I was reading at the salon while my color set. I asked my stylist what he thought of bangs on me in his professional opinion. He told me that regular ones might look funny on me because I have a small forehead.
So I looked through the book and found some slightly spiky ones that I could sweep to the side. I can wear them straight down, but they're not cut to be worn that way and look funny. I'm diggin' them. Very Kat Von D. And if you watch the show tonight, you can see them!
Unless there's some roleplay in the FoE chat that needs me tonight...kind of doubt it.
Tomorrow, I'm planning to meet with Terri and Armand to finish up Lucien's Sith trial. I hope we do. I want to kill off Lady Maum as soon as possible.
