In honor of researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics who have captured a light wave only 80 attoseconds long. Article in New Scientist.

6/12/08 05:59 pm - A big mess in my apartment that I didn't make!

Yesterday I came home to find the yard a mess. Roofers had taken over my building with no warning from my landlord. We had windows open, which the mess easily travelled through. I don't even want to think about what a mess the attic probably is. The door from the kitchen to the attic was open, meaning every kitchen surface has to be cleaned. Our bed got a fine layer of black tar dust. The cats, loving the novelty of all this, are now filthy. We made a "first pass" of cleaning it all up last night but there's still lots to do. Just what I needed!

(Because I was on my bike) I was having so much fun on my commute to work I overshot by an extra half mile.

(Because I was on my bike) I was early, so overshooting and having to go back was no problem.

May is National Bike to Work Month.

5/3/08 05:58 pm - Two great things

Looptopia was great last night. I wound up being kind of ghettoized the whole time with my little crew - didn't get to see or do a whole lot of different things but where quantity was wanting quality was top-notch. The weather cooperated unexpectedly and everybody worked together and the audience really loved us, especially the second set we did all together.

Also the May 2008 issue of the Monthly Aspectarian is out - Click for PDF. I contributed two articles, pp 59 and 61.

4/30/08 08:01 pm - Cut the Gas (Tax)

4/22/08 11:29 pm - I regard it as kind of a bummer

I like Hillary Clinton just fine, but I wish the race for the nomination would be over already and I kind of wish Obama would just win.

I need to escape politics and news for a while; I'm getting burned out on strife. Thinking about diving in to some Lacan. Any recommendations?

4/21/08 04:20 pm - Mm hmm

I guess it's bad that my prevailing thoughts after reading this are "Well I'm a lousy bowler too." and "GO BARACK!"

4/14/08 07:37 pm - Nice Resonate 2.0 Performance

Someone recorded this performance I saw at Resonate 2.0, it was great! I was happy to find this video today. They're a great group. I love the song they do too: "Love Ride" by Huun Huur Tu (remixed)

I gotta say, the guy with the beard is an AMAZING bellydancer.

We got DSL. Yay! You'll probably be seeing a lot more of me around here.

I'm going to, and performing in, Resonate 2.0. Gonna spin a lil FIYAR.

Oh! Blaze Chicago, the actual bona-fide fire performance arts troupe I'm in is performing at Looptopia. Oooooohh!

There is a chance that I'll be at Playa del Fuego in May. I have a free flight from Southwest and ya know, I might have a few friends who'll be there too.

I'm writing an article for The Monthly Aspectarian on conscientious consumption.

More Hawaii photos coming soon I promise..I'm emerging* Imagemagick as I type this and I've just done a lot of weeding-through.
